7. Help Not Wanted
My eyes remained unblinking through out the night. Thoughts and more thoughts ran through my head. Everything just went down the drain and I am clueless what to do in the situation. I dragged my tired self out from bed and went inside my closet to get changed.
A knock on the door made me pop my head out from the closet. Brittany slowly entered and gave me a weak smile.
"I'm sorry," she whispered.
"Sorry?" I snickered sarcastically and pulled out my shirt.
"I don't want you to be angry with me," she kept eyeing my bare chest.
"Do you realize the situation you put me in." I walked past her, brushing my shoulder with hers.
"You didn't had to listen to me."
"It's not like I had a choice," I pulled out a black shirt from the drawer.
"Simon please forgive me," she placed a hand on my arm, "I missed you last night."
"Well you should of thought of that before screwing everything up," I mumbled and walked away from her to the bathroom.
"We were in danger. What else you wanted me to do?" She stood by the doorway.
"What you were meant to do," I splashed my face with water and turned back to her, "You should of just stayed with the kids in their rooms and I don't know how about clean the dishes or something!"
"Like a house maid?!" she gasped.
"Why don't you become useful for once?" I suggested with a roll of my eyes.
I was getting old by the second living with her. Sure I needed her but she was driving me crazy with her little dramas. Maybe it was time for me to leave...
"Simon? What are you doing?" She asked as her eyes never left from me.
"I think we need a break," I spoke out as I started to gel my hair back.
"B-Break?" She let out a squeak.
"It's not working no more."
"But we need each other!"
"I said a break! Not once did I mention that we were done."
"But the k-kids? What would they think?"
"Brittany seriously?" I chuckled with no humor, "They are kids. They don't care. Besides, I barely see them anyways."
"How long?" She asked with tears swelling up her eyes.
"Six months," I replied without thinking and grabbing a leather jacket from the hanger.
Tears cascaded down her eyes. She gritted her teeth together and stormed out from my room with a slam of the door behind her.
It's not like I said a year...
I gave out a frustrated sigh and started to pack my suitcase up. Just when I thought I was going to be alone, In came Mathews and Julius.
"Alpha?" Mathews looked worried, "We saw the mistress crying and running down the stairs. Is everything okay?" He asked.
"Absolutely!" I clapped my hands together with a fake grin. "I'm just packing my stuff because I can't stand my woman's presence not after what happened last night with my filthy pack. Everything is going just swell!"
They caught my sarcasm making me frown.
"Alpha where to?" Mathews asked.
"To the city."
"T-the c-c-city?! You m-me-mean out from territory boundaries?!" Julius gasped.
"Listen you two," I slammed my suitcase shut, "I know what I am facing out there but I have to go to the city and get myself a new pack."
"What about the humans?" Mathew and Julius faced each other with concern.
"I'm just like them. It's not going to be like they will recognize me any different from the rest."
"And your mate? What about her? You do know you need her close to you right?"
"Mathews what the hell with you and all of these questions. Have you forgotten I am the alpha? I am going to handle this my way."
I dropped my suitcase down and started to roll out with it from my room.
"Alpha I'm going with you," Mathews volunteered.
"I want no one. I need you to watch over the kids and Brittany okay?" I handed Mathews my suitcase as I walked down the stairs.
"Then take Julius," Mathews insisted.
Julius shook his head frantically no and hid behind Mathews.
"That thing will just slow me down. Listen Mathews I am going to be okay, okay?"
"But-"
"But nothing."
I grabbed my suitcase back from Mathews and gave one last look at them.
"I am going and that is final. I will be in mind link though so stop fretting and let me handle this," I ordered.
They bowed their heads and helped me by opening the doors.
"Six months. That is all I ask."

I trotted my way towards the city. All my life I have been in territory bounds but for the first time, adventure called me. The only way for me to be alpha again is to have a pack and in order for me to have one, I have to look for strays that have wandered away into the city. I was finally leaving the forest behind me when I came in contact with a road.
Finally I can be a single man.
A smirk went up on my lips as I dragged my suitcase along with me across the road. Everything was going swell until a car almost ran over me.
"Hey watch where you going fool!" One yelled at me.
More cars buzzed right past me making me flinch and run in circles.
"Get out of the road!"
"Stupid you're going to kill yourself!"
"You big dunce!"
Everyone spat words to me as I got dizzy in place. My head was swarming with voices and sounds. So many noises in just one place. One decided to flip me his middle finger, making a growl form in my chest.
A huge eighteen wheel truck honked at me as I was just standing there in the middle of the road. My legs stayed frozen in the ground as I was slowly watching my life flash before my eyes. Maybe it was a bad idea for me to go by myself...
My hand lost grip of my suitcase as my mouth slowly dropped. I didn't even get half way to the city. The monster honked at me without letting go when suddenly a impact came from behind me, pushing me away from the road in a blink of an eye. The eighteen wheeler truck just zoomed past me, missing me by a hair. My face cane in contact with the grass making me swallow some.
"You fucking idiot! What were you thinking?!"
"Excuse me?" I spitted out grass and dirt and looked up at my savior.
It was a woman. She had the longest black hair I ever seen and eyes that screamed troublesome purple. She was wearing a long black sleeve shirt that went tight on her body and incredible skinny light blue jeans that were torn.
"What where you fucking thinking?! If it was suicide then holy fuck you should have done it somewhere where innocent people may not have died as well!"
Her use of words left me in shock.
She just saved me only to insult me.
She stretched out a hand for me hold which I denied it. She took no as her answer and snatched my arm to pull me up from the ground.
"I can do it on my own thank you very much," I growled.
"Sure considering what happened seconds ago."
My nose twitched in annoyance at her rudeness towards me. I felt empty handed and quickly searched for my suitcase.
"Where is my suitcase?!" I frantically searched.
"You mean that one?" She pointed back to the road where my suitcase was broken to pieces and my clothes flying everywhere with each car passing by.
"No!" I yelled.
"Boiii what a weird sense of taste in color you have," My savior snickered from behind.
I turned back only to see her stretching out one of my boxers.
Oh gosh no...
"It's bright bright red. It's kinda cute," she laughed.
"Mine!" I snatched it from her, "My wife picked it out for me," I mumbled.
"Aww how cute," she pinched my cheeks, "It even has a tiny little hole for your-"
"Enough!" I swatted her hand away.
"Well sorry Mr. Suicide Guy," She crossed her arms over her chest, "I was only trying to help."
"Well I don't need it no more," I gritted my teeth and shoved my boxer in one of my pockets, "Good day to you," I started to walk off.
"Yeah nice meeting you!" She waved, "See you in a few seconds," She laughed.
Few seconds?
I looked back at her only to trip on my own feet and land my face again in the dirt.
"Need a hand?" She smirked.
"No!" I shouted.
"I will take that as a yes," She rolled her eyes with a smirk and helped me up again.
"Who the hell are you?" I had to ask, still in anger though.
"Nah," She waved me off, "I want to know why you were crossing the highway road like that?"
"I was getting to the city!" I snapped.
"You're new aren't you? Tell me, what are you?"
I gulped. Should I trust her? I bet I shouldn't even be talking to her in the first place.
"I'm human?" It came out in a question.
"Oh cool I am a vampire," She grinned. Though I am not sure if it was fake or real.
"Right..." I chuckled nervously not sure if I was understanding her right.
"No for real," She grabbed my hand and leaned closer to me. She revealed her two little fangs.
"What the fuck?! Why are you telling me this then?!"
"Because I know you aren't human."
"I told you I was though."
"Yeah...didn't bought that. You need help fitting in," she ran a hand through her hair, "The name is Jezebel," she stretched out a hand for me to shake.
"Simon. Simon Ivan Hawthorn," I shook her hand, "Alpha Simon."
"I'll just call you Simon," She smirked, "So I got myself a little mutt."
"Alpha." I frowned.
"Whatever. Anyways why don't you let me help you show around?"
With a stranger??? Well she did save me after all. And she looks more calm down with me.
"Come on you big fucking idiot say yes," she groaned.
Okay maybe not entirely calmed down...
"Fine..."
I mean things couldn't get much worse.
Can they?
