4. Plenty Of F-Words
I dragged my tired self back to my car. I felt something off from my system...
Ever since I met that girl.
I pulled out my phone and there were twenty six missed calls and a spam of messages all from one person. My index finger slipped and unlocked one of the messages.
*Simon where are you my love? Why aren't you answering me? Did you forget you were going to meet my father tonight?*
It was sent after school today which I spent all afternoon in the janitor's closet.
My mate.
Oh gosh I totally forgot...
I jabbed the key inside the switch but my car wouldn't go on.
"Oh hell no!" I slammed my forehead on the steering wheel.
Today just wasn't my day.
I was about to call Mark for help when my phone flashed the battery symbol.
"What the fuck! Not this too!"
I tried resurrecting my phone but the screen went all black.
Definitely not my day.
Out of all days my bad luck had to strike in this precise moment. I was suppose to pick up my mate a long time ago but totally ended up forgetting her and our meeting we were suppose to have dinner with her father. With just two weeks away from graduation I wanted to speed things up so once I finally leave highschool, I can finally be a man.
And a powerful man needed his mate by his side.
I pulled out from my pocket a small black box and opened it. I diamond ring dazzled back at me.
"Ughhh things couldn't be much worse..."
"Actually it can."
I instantly turned my head to my car's open window and saw no other than the girl from earlier.
"You again?" I couldn't help but to frown.
"Who else?" she insolently replied back, "I also happen to be the parking monitor." She crossed her arms over her small chest, "Can I see your license and ID?"
"What the hell of course not!" I tried pushing the button so my window could go up but nothing happened.
"Then I have no choice but to call the cops," She threatened me with a finger.
"You can't fucking do that!" I barked.
"Your language needs fixing to be done."
"My car is stuck! What do you fucking want me to do about it!" I flapped my arms everywhere.
"I need you to step out from your vehicle."
"Oh for crying out loud!" I slammed my door wide open and stood in front of her. "You can't do shit like this. You are no cop. You are exaggerating the situation!"
"Then why did you obey me?" Her face expression softened as she tilted her head to one side.
Why did I?
I scratched the back of my head and let the last rays of the sun warm my face up. I wasted my whole day in a freaking janitor's closet only to end up in another dilemma. My mate needed me right now and here I was, being interrogated for no reason. If you can call it that way...
"Listen girl I need to get somewhere as soon as possible," I tried reasoning with her.
She had no rights to be doing this to me at all. For freaking sake I am her fucking alpha!
"Where to?" She asked.
"Your not my mother," A small growl escaped from my lips.
"Well you need one if that what it takes for you to chill your language issue. Are you sure you're not on your period?" A small smirk crossed her lips.
"Why are you disrespecting me like this?" I snapped.
"Good question," She looked away at the setting sun and started to rub her chin.
Her hair softly waved with the small breeze of the wind and her light brown eyes had this little twinkle to it. All I wanted to know was why she was treating me this way.
"Maybe you should remember," She brought her eyes back to me with a serious expression blocking away all sense of humor, "Maybe it's best that you don't remember oh wait," She grabbed me by the wrist and stood on tiptoes to stare me right in the eyes, "Men like you don't even think...at all."
"Who says that?!"
"I do."
For a little shorty she sure had some mighty fine strength. I could feel my wrist getting clogged with my own blood. For some reason I didn't want to fight back. Sure she disrespected me in so many ways, but something in me told me not to hurt her.
"Angie!"
She flinched, releasing me from her clutch.
"Angie?" I smirked.
At least I had her name.
She turned back, facing towards the entrance of the highschool. A man wearing a janitor uniform stood in the entrance.
"Coming!" She yelled back.
Before she ran off, I grabbed her by the wrist and spun her back to face me.
"And where do you think you are going?"
"Let go of me," She gritted her teeth.
"Not until you explain to me what is your fucking problem with me," I lowly spoke.
"Forget it."
"How can I forget the girl who cut me in the fucking line, disrespected me in my fucking face, fucking dragged me outside, and made me get out from my fucking car, not to mention she made me go late from an important meeting I had with my fucking mate!"
"That's sure is a lot of f-words," She mumbled.
"Angie!" The janitor man was getting desperate.
"I said I was coming!" She yelled back and faced back at me, "For the last time, get your dirty hands off from me!"
"I wash my hands for your information."
"Angeles Joy Arlington!"
We both faced towards the entrance to see the man walking towards us. His hands were fisted and anger was creased on his forehead.
"What are you doing with my daughter?!"
I let go of Angie and quickly hid my hands behind my back.
"Dad," She went, "He was just leaving."
"You have no rights to be near my daughter! Not after all you've done!"
I've done?
"Dad it's not his fault," She got in front of me, "I-I was the one who looked for him."
"Why Angie?" The man's voice cracked.
I was awkwardly standing there, trying to understand the whole situation. I had no clue what they were talking about.
"He is a crazy lunatic," the man whispered, "Stay away from that beast."
"Um...I'm right here you know?" I interrupted their conversation and waved a hand over Angie's head.
Both of them turned back and shot me red eye glares.
Fine, I see when I am not wanted...
A growl was forming in my throat but I kept it inside and instead just stomped back in my car. I hunched in my seat and gave out an annoyed sigh.
"Come Angie, I know you are doing your job but let your brother handle him in the future," The father went.
"Yes father. I only wanted respect."
"Respect from him?" the man shot me another glare towards my direction, "He doesn't even respect himself."
"Ughhh enough with this!" I got out from my car and stomped my way towards the janitor, "Do you fucking know who I am Pops?!"
"You leave my father alone!" Angie got in between us, "It's not our fault we hate you...alpha."
My shoulder twitched.
So she knew who I was...
"What the fuck! If you know who I am then why are you disrespecting your leader!"
"Because we are only looking for our rights! Just because you happen to be our alpha doesn't mean you are mine nor my family in my book!"
My eyes went round. Her face was red. She was burning in rage and I was frozen in confusion. I never ever been confronted like this until today. By a girl...
"Better go home Alpha," Angie's father's face expression was cold, "We have to work."
"How can I when my car died on me and so has my freaking phone?!"
"Here," The man pulled out his phone, "Make a call and get. School is over and you shouldn't be in school district at this time."
He handed me an old flip phone.
"In this thing?" I couldn't help but to snicker, "This is the twentieth first century Pops. The dinosaur days are over."
"Just call would you!" He snapped.
I rolled my eyes and dialed Mark's number. After a few beeps, he answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Get over here in the school parking lot. My car is dead and so is my phone. I need a ride." I ordered.
"Yes Simon."
"I will take that," The man snatched his phone back right from my hands, "Come Angie," He faced her, "We got to get working."
They started to walk off. Angie gave a small glance towards me but quickly looked away. This was sure a hell of a day. I only hope my mate can understand my delay.
*****
"Simon where have you been?!" My mate came running towards me and wrapped me in a tight hug.
"Sorry Brittany," I kissed her forehead, "Crazy people are out there."
She giggled and crashed her lips with mine.
Brittany was okay. She was my mate. What I love about her is that she easily loves me back. She was innocent, naive, sweet, easy, and understanding. To some this is a perfect mate but to guys like me, there seems to be a lack of magic. It was easy for me to find my mate unlike others who struggle to get their mates to be next to them or can't find them at all. I had everything right in the palms of my hands.
"You got lucky," She breathed and kept pecking my lips, "I convinced my father to cancel tonight and have another meeting next week before you graduate."
"Wow really?" I gave her a weak smile."
"Of course," She beamed.
She was cute when she was happy. My lips connected with her once again and my hand cupped the small of her back. She was really faithful in this relationship. Unlike me though...
I stopped kissing her and carried her in my arms bridal style. One of her dreams is to get married with the man of her dreams and ride off into the sunset on a unicorn.
So maybe I couldn't get her unicorn but a pony is good enough as it could get.
I carried her inside and gently placed her on her kitchen counter. To speed things up, I got on one knee and pulled out the black box with the diamond ring.
It was time...
"Oh Simon!" Tears poured down her eyes in joy, "It's beautiful!"
I smirked and placed the diamond ring on her finger.
"I can't wait to tell father!" She jumped down from the counter and pulled me into a tight hug.
"I fucking love you Brit," I whispered huskily in her ear.
"Not as much as I..." She breathed.
