Chapter 3: Rogues
Five weeks.
Five weeks since Kaden watched his mate disappear from his grasp. Lily had managed to slip from his territory, leaving no scent or tracks behind her. Ever since then, Kaden has had his pack looking everywhere for her. He refused to give up on finding her.
" Alpha Kaden. I have news from the fifth group. They managed to find something that may be usefully." Austin spoke as he walked into Kaden's office holding a few pieces of paper. He passed them over to his alpha who instantly pulled them from him. Onto was a picture of his mate where then same clothes as when she disappeared. She was looking away from the camera as she walked out of a bakery store.
" They are waiting your command." Austin spoke as Kaden looked at the paper underneath giving some details of her physical description to be on the safe side. The report stated that she was in the next town over.
" Tell them to tail her. I will join them." Kaden informed Austin as he stood up from his large black leather chair. He grabbed his car keys and walked to the door. "You are joining me."
" Of course." Austin said following behind pulling his cell phone out and calling the fifth group to inform them of their immanent arrival. The rushed to the four seat white Audi and jumped in. Kaden pushed the keys into the engine and quickly zoomed out of the long driveway of his house.
" Call back the other groups, but tell them to stay on standby." Kaden ordered as he drive well over the limit, not that any police in the area would give chase. Everyone knew who he was and practically all of the police force were wolves within his pack. Austin was on the phone while Kaden drifted into his own world as she drove through the country roads with thick green forests on either side, the world seemed to be tinted in blue colour as the greenery was coated in rain drops. Puddles lay on parts of the road as Kaden moved to avoid them easily. It was not long before Kaden pulled into the small town with a population little over 1100, both wolf and human.
" They said they are at Karie's diner." Austin informed Kaden who made the appropriate turns and pulled into the kerb to park his car. The pair where out the car within second and walked quickly over to where three of his warriors where hiding. They were standing in a tightly lane between buildings across the double lane road from the diner.
" Alpha, the girl is in the diner. She should be leaving now." One of his man informed him and true to his words, the door to the diner opened with a chime and out step a sight Kaden had been longing to see.
" Kaden wait." Austin said putting a hand into Kaden's shoulder stopping him for going forward. Kaden turned and glared to Austin, wondering as to why he was stopping him from heading to his mate.
" Remember what happened last time? It's clear that she has a thing about Alphas. To be too rash about this, take it slowly." Austin gave him a very good reason as to why he should not rush straight over to her. Kaden sighed and looked around to Austin with a nod.
" What do we do?" One of the men asked stepping forward.
" We wait. Until we can figure a way not too spook her into running again." Kaden spoke, but his attention was quickly caught by Austin. Hitting his shoulder with the back of his hand several times, his eyes trained forward. Kaden turned and looked towards the place where his eyes where trained. Lily was standing so still as her face paled at something, Kaden moved too look at what has caused his mate to become so scared. His eyes then found five men looking to her, one of them pointed and they all ran towards Lily.
" Rogues!" Austin growled and in an instant, everyone rushed after the rogues who was chasing Lily. Hell would freeze over before Kaden would let anyone harm Lily, and if anyone did mange to hurt her; he will kill them. Plain and simple. Lily ran out of town and into the surrounding forest. As soon as Kaden broke into the forest he shifted into his large black wolf. The three warrior shifted while Austin stay in his human form while he carried a black backpack. When they shifted it gave them the boost of speed needed to catch the rogues. But unfortunately the rogues had managed to catch up with Lily and they now had her pinned down to the ground.
" Stop struggling, bitch! Do you have any fucking idea how hard it is to catch you!" One of the growled as he punched Lily across the face. Kaden growled as he launched himself to at the rogues, knocking them away from Lily and stood with his front paws over her protectively growling. The three warrior then easily disposed of four out of the five rogues, keeping one so they could get information.
Meanwhile, Kaden shifted back into his human form as Austin chucked the bag to him. Kaden quickly opened the bag and pulled out a pair of shorts from it and pulled them on. He walked over to Lily who was sitting on the ground breathing heavily, he reached down and pulled her too her feet. He held his hands onto either side of her upper arms, his blue eyes searching her for injuries.
" Are you hurt, baby?" Kaden asked with a worried look, Lily moved her duel coloured eyes to him, she instantly bowed her head in submission to him.
"Alpha, I'm sorry I caused trouble." She whispered and softly began to shake within his arms. Kaden shook his head and pulled her into his bare tanned chest. He wrapped his arms tightly around her with his right hand over her head.
"Sh sh, baby. No. Do not ever think that. Like I said before, I will do anything from you." He said pulling hear back and holding her cheeks so she will look at him. "Because your my mate, my princess, my Luna."
" Alpha..." Lily spoke with a pleading look as Kaden shook his head.
" No, you will call me Kaden, princess. I will not have my mate calling me Alpha." Kaden smiled softly placing a ginger kiss on her forehead, sparks flew between them through the touch. This caused Lily to tense up, causing Kaden to frown but did not ask.
" Why were the rogues after you?" Kaden asked with a ore serious tone, he watched as Lily's duel coloured eyes clouded over. Showing that the thoughts were something that cause her a mass amount of fear.
" I-I-I... Al-Kaden." She began as her body shook rapidly, her chin shook as she was now on the verge of crying.
" Hey, hey, hey. Princess don't cry. No matter what the reason is, I will not think anything different if you. But I need you to tell me the reason to why they were chasing you." Kaden caressed her cheek warmly and strangely enough, Lily felt a form of safety in his grasp. Something which she was not used too.
" They, they were paid to capture me and take me back to..." Lily whispered looking down again trying to hold back her tears.
" To who?" Kaden asked her as she just shook her head.
" Can we go somewhere more... Private." She asked with a tinted blush upon her cheeks.
" Yes, of course. Come on then, princess." Kaden spoke softly and lead her towards the town.
" Take him to the cells. I will deal with him later." He ordered Austin who nodded and instructed the other three wolves. Lily gave up on trying to keep her distance and allowed Kaden to keep her close as they walked towards the forest edge. A blush tinted her cheeks when she saw Kaden's well toned abs, his warm embrace holding her close to his rock chest.
" Thank you," Lily began as Kaden looked down to her. "For saving me."
