Chapter 2: Alive?
Days passed by slowly for Kaden, who never left the bedside of his new found rogue mate. While the days that passed felt like nothing to the woman laying upon the bed. Ross would check her every day at least four times. News had spread about the possibility of the new Luna to the pack, much to Kaden's displeasure. He does not even know her name and people are gossiping. Kaden was brought out of his chant when he heard the soft groans coming from his mate.
" Hey, baby." He whispered moving to sit on her bed looking down at her. His right hand on her cheek while his left held her hand. Her eyes slowly opened and blinked several times to adjust. But Kaden was in complete awe, for the colours of her eyes were beautifully unique. Her right eye was a deep blue like the sea, while the left was a chocolate brown.
" Your beautiful, princess." He whispered causing a blush to appear on her face underneath the tubes that transported oxygen to her nose.
" W-wh-o a-r-re you?" She stuttered in a raspy voice. Kaden smiled at how wonderful her voice sounds, even when it was in that state.
" My name is Kaden Foster. You are in the Full Moon's pack house infirmary." Kaden smiled softly stroking her cheekbone with his thumb. This actions seemed to calm her slightly, but being in an unfamiliar setting, with an unfamiliar male. Did not sit well with her.
" I-I need to leave." She whispered as she pulled the tube from her nose.
" Baby, no. Stop, baby." Kaden begged as he tried to stop her moving around. As she pulled off the clip on her finger the heart monitor flat lined causing a commotion to erupt as the door burst open. She fought against Kaden as he tried to calm her down.
" Calm down, it's alright. No will hurt you." Kaden pleaded with her as she fought against him. Memories of home flashed through her mind, of him. His hands all over her, rough and bruising. Touching her in places that should never be touched by he who was not her mate.
" NO! Don't touch me!" She yelled out thrashing against the strong hold of this stranger.
"It's alright, baby." Kaden whispered as she hit him hard against his chest.
" Please don't hurt me." She whispered breaking down into fits of sobs.
" I will never hurt you, my love." He whispered to her continuing to rock back and forth.
"Pl-le-ease. Just l-let me go." She cried as she struggled to push herself away from his warm embrace.
" I will never let you go, princess. Your mine." He growled burying his face into the nape of her neck and pulling in a deep breath of her scent, she smelt of strawberries with a hint of vanilla.
" The last time someone said that, I nearly died." She whispered showing him just how much she wanted him to let her go.
" I would never let that happen. Baby, look at me." Kaden said moving slightly so he could pulled her face too look up at him. Her duel coloured eyes red from crying. " No one will ever hurt you, not while you are with me. Your mine and no one will harm you, baby."
"Lily," She spoke into his chest. Kaden let out a 'hm' wondering what she had just said to him. Lily took the hint and moved her face to the left slightly to speak, "My name is Lily." She muttered as she sighed. Feeling something within her that pulled her to him. It was so strong that she felt unable to resist as he buried her face deeper into his dark blue colour shirt, by placing a hand onto her head.
" Well, it's nice to meet you, Lily." He muttered before kissing her head again.
" What happened?" She whispered still shaking, giving up on trying to pull out of his warm embrace.
" You were wounded badly. I found you in the forest, unconscious." He whispered in a deep voice, there was a hint of fear in his words. Like he was afraid to loose her and was upset at even the thought of loosing her.
" Thank you." She whispered to him before pulling out of his warm embrace. The cold air bit at her pale skin as as stood weakly to her feet.
" Are you alright?" Kaden asked worryingly as he watched her from his seated place. Lily ran her thin fingers through her long wavy brown hair as she pulled the tie out, Kaden watched every single movement of hers. He watched how the muscles in her back moved with her arms so perfectly defined. Subconsciously he licked his lips as his breathing picked up as well as his heart rate.
" I should go. I would not want to burden your Alpha much longer." She whispered pulled her hair into a plait. She reached over and pulled on her green jacket with a golden zip.
" You do not burden him, trust me. I know." Kaden smirked to her standing up quickly.
" A rogue within his house? I would say that is stressful enough." She spoke as she made her way to the door. But she was stopped when Kaden wrapped his around her her upper body from behind and buried his face into her neck.
" You cause me no stress, at all. In fact, you give me relief." He whispered with his lips tracing over her soft skin, sending shivers through her.
" Your t-the?" She began to choke out as he kissed her neck.
" Yes, I am." He whispered to her as she ripped herself out his grasp. Kaden looked to her with a hurt yet surprise look as he watched her face fill with fear. Soon that hurt he was feeling turned into confusion.
"Lily wh..." He asked stepping close to her, but she put her hand up to him.
" Don't, stay away from me." She whispered in fear as she walked back until her back hit the large dark wood door. Her hands searched from the black iron handle as she did not let her eyes move from Kaden.
" Lily, please. I will not hurt you." Kaden pleaded with her as her hand found the cast iron handle and twisted it.
" Do not follow me." Lily whispered as she pushed the door open and burst into a sprint down the hall, with no idea where she was going. Therefore, relying in her sense of smell to guide her. Hearing the footfall behind her, she knew that Kaden was falling her. He was shouting to her but Lily had no idea what it was as she concentrated on find her way out.
And there it was, the front door. Lily smashed her way through the large wooden door and leaped down the grey stone stairs before rushing over the well kept green grass. Before she made it into the forest, she pounced into the air and shifted into a large white wolf. She disappeared into the forest, closely followed by Kaden and Austin -who had just recently joined him- behind him as they rushed after her.
