Lexus scooped Dove into his arms and walked away, when his eyes came over to the sight of Mason unconscious on the ground, he offered him some help to regain his consciousness by kicking him towards the table and shoving Emma away.

He placed Dove on the couch of his Royce and they headed for the hospital.

Only four words could describe how I'm feeling.

*Rage

*Hurt

*Guilt

*Worry

I've never been so angry in my entire existence. I felt like killing that bastard that moment.

My wolf was furious and partly angry at me too because I didn't kill the asshole. He felt hurt because our mate was hurt.

I felt guilty that I didn't know about any of this, that I let go of her when Adalyn pulled me, that I let her go.

I kept growling while in the hospital, she had lost consciousness and I was extremely worried.

Adalyn walked up to me, "you should go let out some steam"

"But Dove is still in there, I'm not leaving without her"

"She's fine now"

"I let her go before, I'm not letting her go again", Adalyn chuckled

"Your mate's fine, I'm here and I'm not leaving until you return", she said

She had managed to convince me to leave.

"And don't go to her house to kill that dude, he's already half dead", she knew exactly where I was headed, "you should probably go on a run"

He hopped into the car and drove directly into the forest. He stripped and let his wolf out.

He walked towards a tree and delivered a punch, when it broke, he snorted and walked towards another tree doing the same, it also broke.

Eventually, he transformed into a wolf.

He turned around and saw a deer who was taking off at the sight of broken trees and a wolf.

He ran after her and caught her in seconds, his claws clawed all over her dragged some meat out and his teeth snapped her neck.

{Let's give the deer a moment of silence, she didn't deserve to die such a painful death........... Mason is to blame!}

After having a delicious meal, he became calm and lay down a bit under the sun when he heard a tree branch snap and the paws of wolves on the ground.

His nose didn't recognize their scent and he knows everyone in the pack so there can only be one possibility.

Rogues

He thought.

He got up and looked forward. They were three, all in wolf form and they surrounded him.

He was pretty sure there were wolves in human form patrolling and guarding the pack territory when he came in so how did these three sneak in.

They growled and he growled too moving forward.

He knew they had outnumbered him but that wasn't a problem. He had two powerful Alpha's blood running through his veins, of his mother, trained a warrior and raised a Luna, and of his father, trained during wars to defend his pack and raised as an Alpha to rule his pack.

He had undergone several training too and they didn't stand a chance but what bothered him was how they could sneak in.

The one with brown fur in the middle attacked first, wanting to pounce on him but he dodged and clawed his neck.

Still holding on to his neck, he flipped him upside down, growled at him and was about to do the final bidding when the others pounced too.

You could say, they weren't as strong as their furs and weight implied since they were all thrown to the ground in a few minutes.

Ivan get over here

He mind-linked Ivan.

What? Where? What happened?

Rogues, they attacked. East, just by the lake.

A reddish-brown furred wolf came running with two others behind him a few minutes later.

I killed the leader but these two would be useful for questioning.

Get them to the pack dungeons.

The other two who came along with him turned back into a human as naked as the day they were born and they put on some clothes found behind a tree {it's normally found there in case you don't have some clothes with you when you turned back into a human}

They picked up the two wolves who were unconscious on the ground and took them to the dungeon.

Lexus looked and Ivan and nodded, he got the hint and turned into a human, then followed behind the other two.

When Lexus returned to human, he received a call from Adalyn.

"She's woken up" she said through the line and Lexus started the car and drove like a madman to the hospital.

"What did the doctor say?" He asked when he was there

"He said she had broken a rib before and the beatings are causing more damages, she said she had undergone a surgery before so it was fine but the doctor says otherwise. She also has other scars on her body, looks like the abuse has been going on for a long time" replied Adalyn and Lexus hand formed a fist, he felt all the previous dissipated anger return.

"I want to see her"

"Sure, she's right in"

He walked in see her laying down on the bed with her eyes straight on the ceiling, as soon as he walked in, she turned her eyes to him.

He took a seat next to her bed.

"Hey," he said

"Hi, thank you by the way"

"Not a problem"

"I'm Dove, Dove Brown"

"Lexus Gray"

"I'm sorry for what I did earlier... You know, in front of your girlfriend"

"Girlfriend?!" Adalyn screamed "with him? Come on, I could do better than this"

"Wait, you're not his girlfriend?"

"No!! That's like, incest, this fool's my brother"

"Oh", she blushed "but can I leave now?"

"No!" Said Lexus and she flinched "you are not going back there"

"Excuse me, that's my family"

He snorted, "wow! I never knew they beat people up in your family"

"How dare you?!"

He immediately panicked, "I didn't mean it that way... I just mean, what if they kill you this time?"

"I don't think that's any of your business"

"I'm just worried"

Adalyn came over to Lexus who was struggling and chuckled, "shut up Lex"

"Why don't you get an apartment of your own? I mean, you're 22 and still with your parents?", Adalyn asked and she was silent while lowering her head, "I see. Well, my brother here just happens to be the president of a company and is in need of a secretary, why don't you go for the interview?"

She was dumbfounded "I don't think I have the qualifications"

"Whaaaat? It's really not that hard, you just make coffee and tell him about his meetings, right?" She turned to Lexus

"I'm pretty sure it's harder than that" said Dove

Lexus immediately got the hint and turned to Dove, "yes, I think you're perfect for the job"

Dove looked at the two and calculated her situation.

With what happened, if she went back there she would surely die.

This was her best option.

"Okay then, I'll go for the interview"

"Great, it's at Gray Enterprises by 9am next week... Monday" said Adalyn

"I'll be there"

I feel as stupid as Adalyn, can someone tell me the responsibilities of a secretary? 😄😅
