It's been two days since entering the pack and I've been in the room all through.

Lexus didn't sleep in here with me though, I think he sleeps in another room because he detected my discomfort and embarrassment.

My right eye-lid have been twitching a little too frequently nowadays and I'm getting more worried.

Today, I had braced myself and asked Lexus if I could go out, he had agreed and I was excited.

I wanted to see how a pack looked.

I walked out of the shower and a set of clothes were lying on the bed per usual, some jeans and a white tight top with a blue jacket along with some underwear.

I had just put them on when I rushed into the bathroom, clutching my stomach, I pulled down the jeans.

Dang it!

At least you're not pregnant. Said my subconscious.

You could guess what happened, mother nature visited me. Wow! I had forgotten about her.

I went back to the bedroom and climbed onto the bed still clutching my stomach, I cupped myself into a ball and used my other free hand to clutch a pillow.

I suddenly remembered.

The bedsheets were white and I had just climbed the bed like 5 minutes ago but it was all soaked now.

I immediately jumped down.

I needed pads! And I needed to change the sheets.

But I was hesitant to go out and look for Lex since I was still wary about everyone, they didn't exactly welcome me with open arms.

Shit! How am I going to deal with this?

I was racking my brain when another pain shot through my stomach and I fell to the floor, clutching my stomach.

Oh my God! Period cramps were the worst!

The door opened up and Lexus hurried to my side immediately.

"What happened?!" He asked, alarmed as he took a look at the blood-soaked bed.

"Dove!!!" He yelled and picked me up.

"It hurts so much..." I groaned.

"What happened?!" He asked and yelled after "Mrs Hills!"

"I'm not injured." I managed to bring out and squeezed my stomach in an attempt to reduce the pain.

It didn't work.

"Lexus!" Mrs Hills hurried in and her eyes turned to me before a gasp came out of her mouth, "what happened?!"

She hurried over to me.

"I'm..." I held my stomach, "I'm on my... Pe-riod" I said.

She released a breath while Lexus still remained grave.

"What the hell are you still standing there for?! Heal her! She's injured on her period!" He yelled and I was sure everyone in the house heard him since I could hear mutters outside.

"No! I'm on my period!" I said.

"I'm not sure I have any pads with me. I'll be back in a moment." She said and turned to leave when his roar stopped her.

"Where are you going?! She's clearly holding on to her stomach, she's in pain."

"Yes, I'm going to get some pads for her." She said.

"Why didn't you have it with you?! You're supposed to be a doctor!"

"I didn't... I didn't know this was going to happen... I... I..." She had her head bent by now and was on the brink of tears.

"Get out! Go get the pafs!!" He said and she hurried out.

He lay me on the couch and gently held my stomach, "what happened?"

"I didn't know it was going to come today..." I said.

"What-", before he could ask his question, Mrs Hills barged in with some pads and reluctantly came next to me.

He turned to her, "so?! Get to work!" He yelled.

I was sure the room was crowded outside since I could hear whispers from the front of the door.

"L-lexus... Could you... Lower your voice a bit?" I whispered, he only moved towards the door and flung it open.

"Everyone here! Pack grounds! Right now!!" He said and moved out. "Since you all have the audacity to eavesdrop, let's see how you'll do..." He said, walking away, aura flying everywhere, "whoever drops out will be thrown into the dungeon for a day!"

Everyone cowered, no one even dared to mumble as they followed behind him.

There were dungeons here?

After doing my business and taking some painkillers, I was cleaned up and Lexus walked into the room, he wasn't angry now.

"You bleed once a month?" He asked, he looked shocked.

He didn't know?

I blushed and nodded.

"Why?"

"I'm not really one to say it... Maybe you could ask... Someone else."

He skipped it and I braced myself, opening my mouth.

"Can we... Look through the pack. You promised, but of course if you're busy then you can totally reschedule, it's fine." I said.

It's totally not!

"Oh yes. I was meaning to ask Adalyn to show you around." He said and blanked out, I knew he was mind connecting to her, you didn't expect me to remember the word, right?

"She's on her way..." Right then, Adalyn ran in.

"Dove, how are you? You want a show around the pack, then you've come to the right person." I giggled.

She turned to Lexus and signalled outside, "just a minute"

They both walked out and I moved as quickly to the door but I was sure they weren't even talking, brief to say, they may be mind connecting.

I heard some footsteps advance to the door and I rushed back to the couch, "be mature, Lexus!" I heard Adalyn yell and I heard Lexus silently growl at her.

Silently, meaning it wasn't enough for everyone to hear but it sure was enough for everyone on this floor to. I was sure the only reason they didn't come out was because of the dungeon.

They walked in later, Lexus fuming and Adalyn acting like nothing happened.

"So... Let's check out the pack." She said and looked at Lexus, "don't miss her too much Mr Grumpy Pants." With that, she went out.

"Stick to Adalyn. Don't go anywhere else!" He simply said and I nodded.

He moved forward a bit but stopped later, calculating in his head. I could feel his need for physical contact but I was still reluctant.

I moved hesitantly until I was right in front of him. My neck aching as I looked up to him and slowly, I put my arms around him. I felt his strong abs and muscles and I wanted to draw my fingers around them.

He looked down at me, his eyes wide open.

I blushed with my cheek placed on his chest but he responded to the hug, wrapping his strong, muscled hands around my waist.

We stayed like that for a few minutes when Adalyn suddenly knocked.

"What are you guys doing in there?!" She asked and I immediately withdrew from him, blushing.

"Coming..." I said.

"Be safe."

"I'll be fine." I said, patting his chest and I moved to the door when he pulled me back into his arms again.

"Hurry!" Said Adalyn and he growled at her, "if you two are gonna spend the day locked up together, then I'm leaving" she said.

Although I couldn't bear to leave his warm embrace, I wiggled my way out or he just let me.

We both walked out to see Adalyn with her hands up about to knock again, "oh finally!"

I blushed.

"If anything goes wrong, return to the pack-house immediately. Don't even think of getting close to the boundary line, stay in the city, don't go near the pack grounds and do NOT leave the pack." Lexus said.

"I don't need you to tell me. I'm older." Said Adalyn.

"I'm serious Adalyn. You may be older but you act like a child."

"Fine. Whatever."

"There are rogues on the loose, Adalyn, I don't want my mate in danger."

"I'm not a child Lex. I have one and I know how to protect her." She had a child?

"Alright, be back in 2 hours. Some pack warriors may be trailing you, they're for protection. I don't know what the rogues are planning but you two will be the main target if they find out who you are... After-"

"Bye Lex." Said Adalyn as she waved her hand towards him, dragging me away.

"Adalyn!" He yelled.

"Tell me your mate bye, say 'bye Lex'." She said and I grinned.

"Bye Lex..." I said and he gritted his teeth, eyes on us as we made our way out of the mansion.

Adalyn led me outside and the mansion was as crowded as the first day I came.

Meaning it was bombarded with people.

"So this is the pack-house. You live here when you turn 13, up till you're 20 or whenever you can live by yourself. But if you find your mate, you're leaving at 18. You're staying on the 6th floor with Lexus and the rest of the upper ranks. Only the Alpha and Luna's rooms and the Alpha's office are on the 7th floor." She said and turned to the gate.

That was when I noticed the statue of a black wolf, head thrown back, howling at the sky. In the middle of it's chest, there was a red, full moon.

Underneath the statue, it read 'Crimson Moon Pack, Alpha Dilinomor'

"What are the ranks?" I asked.

"So we have the omegas, they're the lowest in rank but they're still treated equally here, I don't know about some other packs, some do maltreat them but... Well, we also have the normal, average wolves, there's not much to say but... They're still there.
Pack warriors, their name says it all, they fight for the pack, they're the guards, the ones standing by the borderline... They look scary though and they don't talk much.
The pack doctors. I know you've only met Mrs Hills but she isn't the only one here, we're a big pack and we can't have only one doctor here. So they do their job, heal the pack. They base on western medicine but we have the healer for the traditional medicine, we've got only one healer and he's about more than a hundred years old, he receives insight from the moon goddess on our issues, he doesn't really treat illnesses more like... Problems. So he's the fifth in rank.
The pack witch, we haven't had one since like 20 years ago... She basically disappeared but she's sixth in command anyways.
The gamma, fourth-in-command to the entire pack. He takes care of security and stuff. Here, we are born with rank, not chosen. Even if you fall back on your rank, the blood still runs within you and you don't lose your advantages.
The beta, assistant to the Alpha. He just helps the Alpha with everything, gives advice. Whatever... His mate will be the Luna's assistant.
The Elders, they're the ones with experience, they are the main advisors to the Alpha and they help him with the issues. Busybodies they are...
The Luna, she's the second-in-command, the elders may advise the Alpha but if he doesn't want to... He won't but regarding a Luna bugging the Alpha, he won't have a second choice... If you get what I mean." She winked at me.

"Finally, the Alpha. He leads the entire pack. It's like a king, I don't need to explain much there."

"What are rogues?" I asked.

"They are... Well, wolves either banished from their pack, runaways or... Wolves born outside a pack. They are mostly wild which is why packs are wary of them but due to civilization, most rogues moved to the human world to start up a new life but the ones left, turned crazy... For some, their wolves took over their mind and they turned fully animalistic and for others, they started a rogue pack... It isn't really a pack, just a group for rogues. Many groups try to overthrow other packs in order to make a pack for themselves." She explained.

"Have you run into one before?" I asked.

"Yeah... It was fun."

Someone suddenly called to her, "Adalyn!" She waved at her in response.

"How was it fun?" I asked

"I killed her." She smiled at the others who looked at me in confusion but didn't dare to voice out their thoughts. I ignored them.

I fail to understand how killing a person is fun. "Are you a psychopath?" I asked and she burst into laughter.

"No, but if I hadn't killed her, she would have killed me. It was training, all pack members take it, just in case there's an attack and warriors aren't there." I nodded, still freaked out though.

"So they bring in the rogues?"

"Yes"

We had gotten out of the mansion by now and we're walking towards the urbanized area but past the cabins and cottages.

"This is where the elderly live. They like it with their family and everything, you'll see little kids here especially. I liked having sleepovers with some of my friends who lived here with their parents. It was warm." She said and I looked around.

"Hey Adalyn!" A little boy called out.

"Sup Theo?" She screamed out too.

"Just here being cool..." He said and we both walked towards him.

"Okay, you do what you do" said Adalyn with a chuckle when what seemed like his mom called him over.

She turned to me, "I'm pretty popular here since I worked in the daycare and most of the children I worked with lives here. I visit them once in a while."

Many families were playing together, setting up picnics and chatting. It was welcoming.

"Oh and if you want any type of pie. That is the place to go. They have the best!" She said, pointing to a restaurant.

"So this place is closer to the pack-house and the forest. Wolves are everywhere here, ones who just shifted... The ones trying to clear their head and the ones just shifting for fun."

My mind recalled the sight from two days ago and I shuddered.

"Shifting isn't really... Easy, for the first time... But it gradually becomes smooth and the pain dulls overtime."

I saw a lady walking out of the forest, completely naked!

I almost screamed and closed my eyes immediately but Adalyn held my mouth and led me out of there while the lady casted us confused glances.

"It's normal to see naked people here" she said.

"Normal? What? Is this the 50s?!" I yelled.

"We shift and sometimes, we don't find clothes by the trees so we can't stay there forever..."

I sighed and rolled my eyes.

We had walked past the cottages and she pointed to a field far away, "those are pack grounds. Your mate is punishing some pups because they listened in on your drama..." She laughed, "hilarious!"

Moving into the urbanized area, the first thing that crossed my eye-sight was the huge school.

"That's the highschool, a hellhole for teens, glad I'm out of there. It's embarrassing really, everything in there is embarrassing." She said and I laughed.

"Hey Ivy!" Adalyn called out to a girl donned in some shorts and a black top and dark leather jacket. A backpack thrown over her right arm. Her dark hair was short, right by her chin and she had hair bangs that covered her eyes which were glued to her phone. She looked like a typical goth girl.

Her head turned to Adalyn and she nodded as a form of acknowledgement before turning back to her phone.

"That's Gwendolyn's twin sister." Said Adalyn and I turned my eyes to the girl again, "she's the 'I' in the GIRLS."

I couldn't believe the loud and wild-looking girl from earlier had a sister like this.

We walked towards a row of apartments full of people walking helter-skelter .

"This place is for the ones who just left the pack house. They move into apartments, get a job that contributes to the betterment of the pack. We all help each other."

My legs were aching and I was tired, I wasn't sure how many miles we would have walked by now.

"Oh I forgot I have more stamina" she said and I turned to her with a frown, sweat dripping down from my forehead.

"No need to rub it on my face." I said and she laughed.

"Come on, let's get some ice cream." She said and pulled me to an ice cream stand in front of what seemed to be a fair. "Vanilla?" She asked and I nodded.

I wasn't really much of an ice cream fan and I know you all hate me now but I took it.

She pulled me into the fair, and offered me a seat then walked away, not too far tho, she still had her eyes on me.

I was busy with my ice cream when a pain shot through my head and I closed my eyes, holding on to my forehead. I opened my eyes when the pain subsided.

I saw a man, clad in dark clothing, not too far away from us, watching... Me.

Lexus should make his guards a bit less creepy.

A man walked up to me and gave me a nudge on my shoulder.

"Who are you? Get out of here!" He said.

Adalyn walked in at that moment.

"Adalyn," he paid respect with a slight bow. "She's a human, how did she find her way here?" He asked, glaring at me.

"She's with me."

"A human?"

"Yes. Now go away." She said. "I said get out!" She repeated and his lips formed a line but he walked off.

"Snacks? Chips?" She asked when he was gone, "some of them don't have manners at all."

"Let's ditch the guards." She said and pulled me while sprinting.

We had gone a long way and I was gasping for breath, "they lost us. Hehe" she giggled.

I looked around.

That didn't all leave us. That guy was still hidden behind the trees, watching but I didn't tell her, it was probably for the best.

I was sure she would get us into trouble, hopefully that guard will be there to help.

She pulled me up and we walked and talked, with her explaining everything about a pack and I listening.

We arrived at a building, standing right in front of it I asked, "what's this place?"

"The dungeon." She said "it's right underneath. This is just not to scare people."

I gasped, "we shouldn't be here."

"He never told us not to go to the dungeon."

"But he sure meant it, even if he didn't say it."

"Come on, they're all locked and tied up. They can't even stretch their necks."

"No! Let's go back. It's been three hours now."

"He wouldn't mind. Plus, I'm teaching you Luna stuff."

"How?"

"I don't know but it... Contributes to experience" she said, stepping in.

"With what?"

"I don't know." How does she even have a kid?

I don't know when I followed behind her.

After a lot of buttons, checks and suspicious stares, we made it right in front of a guard.

"We have to tell the Alpha about your visit." He said.

"No! You don't have to tell him because I already did!" She said.

"But we have to ask him."

"I'm his daughter, why would he not know?" She asked.

"But you're here with... Her?" He signalled to me.

"Yes because he told me to bring her here."

"Why?"

"None of your business."

The two bickered for a while until she got serious.

"Let me in. It's for security purposes, for the pack. She's from... The Security Purposes Agency... And she knows about us weres. She's a guest of my father." She lied through her teeth.

"You can't go in unless I ask him." He simply said.

"Let. Me. In." She said, I knew there was threat attached to her voice but he only fidgeted, moved a bit for us to pass but then back to his position.

"No can do. You do know no one but our Alpha can tell us what to do."

She gritted her teeth. "Ugh!" She groaned "move out of the way!" She said and pushed him, passing through.

Others went ahead to hold her.

"Fine." She said, but they still held on to her, she shook herself from their hold and dusted her clothes, "ask him."

The guard looked relieved as he blanked for a while.

"You can go in." He said

"See..." Said Adalyn and I followed behind her but he stopped me.

"Without her." He completed.

"What?" Asked Adalyn.

"She isn't verified."

Adalyn blanked out for a sec and so did the guard but later on he stepped away.

"Stupid guards!" She muttered under her breath.

We were in. Not fully in but enough to see some prisoners.

A gasp escaped my mouth from the way they looked.

"The silver makes them weak and it stinks!" Adalyn said.

"So you're saying the cuffs are made of silver?" She nodded "y'all are rich!"

"Hey... Human girl!" One called out to me.

"Shut up!" Said Adalyn and she turned to me, "don't look into his eyes, he's a vampire."

"Vampires are real?"

"Of course we are. Am I fake?" He asked then chuckled after.

He was only cuffed but it looked like he wasn't touched at all... Yet.

"Well, you just granted me a pass." He said.

"What?" Asked Adalyn.

"You freed me." He said. "Thanks in advance for the freedom, human" he said.

Everywhere turned red and an alarm was set off in that minute.

"Intruder alert!" It rang.

All the guards roamed the corridors and flooded me while the other stood by the gate of the prisoners.

"Mind-link the Alpha!" One said.

"Let's get out of here." Adalyn said and pulled me out.

"Rogue!" Two screamed.

Adalyn dragged me. She was running while I was struggling to keep up.

Her eyes were clouded which meant she was linking someone.

"I owe you gratitude." The vampire dude said, right in front of us "but you are coming with me." He turned to Adalyn.

A/N: longest chapter ever! Fingers are aching. This is like over 3760 words. Ughhhhh.
