"Dove!!" Lexus yelled and I rose up, my eyes met with his and his hands rubbed my knuckles.

I turned to see an unknown lady dressed in a doctor's coat and his sister whose name I never remembered.

"You're finally awake," said the sister.

"I'm surprised she made it, your Alpha's blood is pure and she could take it" said the unknown lady.

"She's strong" said Lexus

"Yeah, she's his mate and a future Luna for a reason" said the sister.

"What's wrong with your eyes?" Asked the sister.

"My-" I coughed and Lexus rushed to get me some water, "what happened to my eyes?" I asked after taking some gulps.

"They're blue..." She replied

"Like mine" said Lexus and he turned to the doctor lady, "is this normal?"

"It is possible for the mate to get the same eye-color once marked but that's rare and it only happens when..." She gasped and turned to Lexus, "can I speak to you for a moment?" She asked and Lexus glared at her.

"She just woke up, I'm not leaving her" he said

"Go away Lex, your mate's safe with me" said the sister.

He reluctantly got up and left with the doctor.

"So you got marked, do you know we're werewolves?" She asked

"Yeah, he told me about that before... Wait, what happened?"

"You blacked out, you've been out for almost a week"

I gasped, I mean, I sleep a lot but a week? The dream felt like only a few minutes. Wait, the dream...

"I spoke to the moon goddess!" I said

"What?"

"My destiny, the lady, the child, someone coming, my mate" I said all at once.

"You had a vision? And the moon goddess talked with you? How? No one's been able to talk with her face to face for centuries" she said

"I am the child! The lady's child! She called me daughter, but the DNA test proved my mom is my mom-" I said but got interrupted by Lexus who was walking towards me with a cold face.

"Funny you should mention her, she filed a case against us, saying we beat up her son and broke into her house" he said

"The nerve of that old witch!" Said the sister.

"We took care of it" said Lexus and I sighed in relief

"Miss Dove, I think we should give you a full explanation of what's happening," said the doctor.

"We are werewolves and we all have a soulmate that we're destined to love forever, you happened to be his mate and he marked you, making you his that makes the bond half completed and to complete it, you both will have to mate and you will then officially become the Luna of the Crimson Moon Pack.
An alpha's mate was crafted for the purpose of leading a pack alongside the alpha so you will be the mother of the pack and your human life will be over. Also, you aren't a human-" a growl from Lexus interrupted her and she broke into a sweat "-anymore since you are Luna, even if you can't turn into a werewolf, you are still our leader."

"So you'll have to come to my pack with me" said Lexus

"What? I can't rule wolves! I also can't just ditch my life and follow you to your... Group. I have Paisley, Sophia and a lot of other responsibilities in my life, I can't just... Accept this!" I raised my voice a little.

I didn't like it! Not one bit.

I had a life living, not with wolves, not with a mate and not with... These weird things are happening around me. With Paisley, Sophia, Gregg, Anthony, James, William, Catherine, and the rest of my friends, even if I don't have a family worth getting named, these friends matter just as much.

Wouldn't life just have been perfect if I was born into a loving and caring family? I would have been happy, life would be good...

Lexus gritted his teeth angrily, "you belong with me! I've waited long enough for you and you can't just walk away from me now" he said, "we're heading to the pack tomorrow, you don't have a say in this-"

"-you can't just force her to go live with you. She still has a life, you know?" Said the sister, getting up.

Lexus laughed, "a life with who? Her family abuses her, who would look after her, her friend sure isn't enough"

Tears clouded my vision, "don't you dare!" I threatened and his grave eyes turned to me "I don't care whoever the hell you are but don't you dare insult my life like that!!"

His eyes softened, "I'm... I'm sorry Dove but you still have to come with me"

"She's not going anywhere until she agrees to" the sister banged her fist on the table and glared deathly at her brother.

The tension in the room was so strong I could almost taste it. By now the doctor had her head almost to her knees and was struggling to breathe, while I just assisted the sister in glaring at Lexus.

He bared his teeth that had two long fangs popping out and she did the same, growling at him.

His eyes flashed gray and hers flashed Emerald while mine flashed in confusion.

Is something about to happen?

Lexus broke off the tension by sighing in defeat and the sister retreated her demeanor, the doctor could finally breathe and was gasping for air.

"Mrs Hills!" Exclaimed the sister as she rushed to her, "I'm so sorry, I didn't know you would get suffocated"

After patting her back a couple of times, the doctor I learnt was Mrs Hills, was stable and the sister locked gazes with her brother and stood there for a while.

I looked between the both of them and the sister switched her head to me then back to him and I just didn't bother to understand whatever was going on.

The sister smiled and came over to the bed, sitting by the side next to me, "you have all the time you want to decide if you're going with him or not, Dove" she said and Lexus grunted while I smiled at her.

"Thank you... Err... Sister-in-law" I gasped, I didn't know what to say and that just came into mind and I blurted it out.

Lexus turned to look at me in surprise and I blushed while the sister laughed.

"I'm a bit offended you forgot my name, sister-in-law but it's Adalyn" she said

"Adalyn" I repeated, "I won't forget it this time"

Lexus was talking to Mr Hills, possibly apologizing when he abruptly turned to us.

"I never agreed to give her a choice. She's coming with me to the pack, the only thing we agreed on was not making Luna straight away", he turned to me, "we're leaving tomorrow. Make every call you want to now, your phone's in the living room"

Anger boiled from within me, "if I'm your soulmate, you're supposed to love me-" I was interrupted by his growling.

"I do love you!!" He said

"You're just being selfish, you can't even consider her feelings" said Adalyn

"I am selfish, I don't share Adalyn, not even with my family and I don't care what she thinks. She's mine!!" He said gravely.

There was something attached to his voice that gave me butterflies but it was obvious the others were terrified. I couldn't be getting butterflies at this moment, when he has suddenly changed from behind the gentle and flirty boss I know of to this.

"You have no say in this Adalyn!" He said and walked away.

Adalyn scoffed and went after him while I looked at the doctor who was patting her chest and I laid back on the bed taking in everything.

I was abandoning my life tomorrow!

Wait, my phone is in the living room!

I stumbled out of bed and fell flat on the floor, my leg feeling like jelly but I pushed myself up and held on to the wall to move and get my phone.

Paisley called.

I rang her over.

"Where in God's name are you?! I've been calling you for days now!!" She said, "were you abducted? I told you! I told you not to go to work!" She screamed all at once

"Calm down Paisley, I'm fine, I just..." I couldn't tell her about everything, right? "I blacked out at work and my boss took me to a hospital", I lied, I had only ever lied to Paisley twice and for trivial reasons, I couldn't believe I had to lie to her because of a mate I had suddenly got.

"Hell Dove!! I want to smack your head so bad right now! Which hospital are you in?" She asked and I stammered.

"The hospital?"

"Yes"

"The... I don't know the name of... Of the hospital, I-I-I just... I just woke up"

"You're lying, aren't you? Where are you really Dove, I'm being serious, were you kidnapped? I'm panicking right now! Oh my God... Steve! Steven! Why the heck did you let her leave, she's been kidnapped! Quickly, call the-"

"Paisley! I'm fine, I wasn't kidnapped, I just... I'm leaving"

"What?" I heard Steve ask too, I guess she may have put the call on the speaker.

"I'm leaving the country" I said

"What? How? When? Why?"

"I can't really explain right now but I have to, we might not see each other again and this may be our last conversation, I love you Paisley, and Steve, I'll miss you and every other annoying thing about you" I said and I heard laughter resonate.

"Enough pranks Dove, I'm not doing this right now. Tell me where the heck you are!"

I didn't want to face this so I cut the call.

Tears rolled down my eyes as I stared at the call coming over and over again, I kept cutting off the call.

"I'm sorry Paisley" I said, why was this my destiny? I hated my life! Why was I born to this?!

I called Sophia too after calming myself down.

"At work, we'll talk later" she said and cut off the call.

I called her again, "what's the problem?" She asked, she's always been the modest one, Paisley would've been like, 'what the hell Dove!?'

"Hi Sophia, sorry for bothering you. I just wanted to say thank you, for everything, for being there for me and helping me, at the hospital, when I was looking for a job... Thank you!" I said

"So what happened?" She asked

I sighed, she knew I was acting abnormal, not that I wouldn't thank people but not with this much emotion.

"I'm leaving the country, I can't do anything about it, this may be our last conversation"

"How?" She asked calmly

I sighed, "I can't do anything about it Sophia, but I just called to say, you were a good friend to me"

"Are you dying? If you're leaving the country you could still call me. There's no reason to get emotional about it"

"You don't understand, I can't call you again"

"Why?"

"I just can't"

"What's happening, Dove?" She asked, her voice getting alarmed now.

"Thanks Soph, you were a good friend"

"Don't you dare cut off this call Dove, do not-" I hung up

I called the ret of my friends and told them my goodbyes.

I slumped against the comfortable couch with my hands rested on the carpeted floor when I heard groans and Lexus stumbled into my sight.

"Dove", he called me softly and I felt a need to go up to him, he bent down and carried me to the bedroom.

I felt tingles escape from where his palm touched my arm and I flinched, he withdrew immediately but I snuggled into him to get more of the sparks.

He put me down on the bed and sat next to me, "I'm sorry" he said holding my hand, awaking more shocks.

"I know you don't want this, I can feel it but... I just want you to be with me" he said

"I understand you're more connected to me now that you've bitten-marked me... Mark me. But... My life-"

"I'll fill in everything you lost. Your friends? You'll get new friends, a family, a life, with me, with the pack"

"I don't belong there-"

"Don't say that!" he growled before pulling me into his arms in a hug, "you won't belong anywhere else. This is your destiny"

My destiny?

"I'm always with you child, fulfill your destiny"

"Follow your mate! Stand beside him! Follow your mate!"

"Okay then"

"What?"

"I'll go with you", even if he wasn't asking before.

"I love you" he said, holding me tighter.

Love?

It was too soon for that, right?

I wouldn't know, this mate thing does still give me some questions. I guess, the more you know, the more you don't.
