Kari's POV:

Lazily my eyes drift open. I glance around me and see I'm in a large bed. It's actually very comfortable but the scent surrounding me isn't a good one. I wrinkle my nose. How did I sleep with this surrounding me?

Suddenly memories of the night before hit me. I check my surroundings one more time to make sure I'm definitely not inside the healing room anymore. Nope, I'm in a big bed. The walls of the room are white and the floor is white tile. I hop out of the bed and see I'm still in the crappy t-shirt that Victoria gave me. I walk up to a desk and see a picture. In the picture is the Froam guy who is next to a beautiful woman with long dark brown hair. Next to them is Victoria and two other people who have close features to Victoria. I assume they are her parents.

"What are you doing?" An authoritative voice shouts. I jump and drop the picture on the table. I turn to see Froam.

"I was just looking around." I said honestly. He frowns.

"Well stay away from personal stuff." He walks over and flips the picture so that it is facing down. "Come with me." He grabs my arm forcefully and I stumble behind him.

"Um, could I please have some underwear and real clothes." He lets out a deep breath.

"Fine. But don't expect to keep it on the whole time. Only when you're in front of the pack." He tells one of his guards to go fetch Ashley and have her bring clothes for me. He pushes me back into the room. "Stay here until Ashley has you dressed. When you're done tell Ashley to escort you to the kitchen."

I nod as he closes the door behind him. What a jerk. I walk over to the bed and sit down. Well I mean it could be worse I guess...

A few seconds later a gentle knock sounds on the door. "Come in!" I shout. I hear her stumble with the door handle but Ashley soon manages to get into the room.

"I brought you a comfy sweatshirt, a bra, panties and some jean shorts. I'm sorry but he didn't give me much time to grab things." I smile.

"No it's perfect thank you!" I grab the underwear and put them on, then I slip the bra under the shirt I'm wearing and put that on. When I'm done I take off the dirty shirt and throw on the sweatshirt and jean shorts. I sigh in relief, oh it's so nice to have on real clothing. "Thanks so much Ashley." She smiles.

"Oh it's no problem at all!" She walks toward the door to leave.

"Wait!" She pauses and turns to me. "Can you take me to the kitchen. Froam wanted me to meet him there." I said with a roll of my eyes.

"Um... I suggest you call him master Froam... And sure I can take you!" Why master Froam? Does he make her call him that? I let it slide and smile at her gratefully.

"Thanks Ashley. You help me out so much." I say with a laugh. She smiles a light smile and looks down.

"I try." I follow her out the door. She leads me around different hallways and eventually we come to a double door. "Okay behind these doors is the kitchen. Um... Good luck." She says and walks away.

"Thanks Ashley!" I say and wave to her. I put on a neutral face after that and walk through the door.

I see Froam sitting at a table eating eggs, sausages, bacon, a bagel and other random foods. He is surrounded by men who seem to be acting as guards, why would he need guards in his own house? I frown. He looks up from his plate. "Ah, Kari you finally decide to join me." I look at the ground. I don't even want to be near this man. "Sit."

He motions his hand for me to sit in a chair near him. I walk over and sit down. He slides me a plate of food but I ignore it.

"Kari you need to eat." He says sternly. I just turn my head away from him. He lets out an angry breath. "Well you healed all my men. Good job, I guess you figured out how to use your powers then."

"Yeah I figured it out. Are you happy now? Can I leave please." I say angrily. I just want to go home and see Bryce and Evie. He laughs.

"Oh Kari. If you want your new family safe then you're going to have to stay here forever." I look at him in shock. Why the hell would he want me here forever? Especially since I don't want to be here. "Ah we have a lot to talk about Kari." I frown. "Oh don't give me that look. I think you will actually want to hear this."

"What is it?" I ask. I guess I am quite curious...

"Let's see, shall I start from the beginning?" He bring his hand up to his chin. "I guess it all started back in the Netherlands. There were two main packs back there. There was the Thorn pack and the Mist pack. They had a strong rivalry, one pack had the power to transport themselves and were faster while the other pack could heal and sometime predict the future. As you can see the rivalry started way back in the past but carried on through generations. As time went on, most of the wolves lost their powers and only a few were left who had special abilities. That's where your mom and I come in, both of us have abilities. And you see, the first child always carries on the ability of their parent. That's when it hit me. Why fight between the two packs when we can combine and create the most powerful creature known to man. When I first met your mother we became friends. I knew we weren't mates, but yet I still fancied her in a way that was more than friends. Anyway I believed in a greater world for both of our packs. Both your mom and I were the only ones with special powers in our generations. I knew that if we were going to create this new world, it had to start with us. Unfortunately, your mom met her mate. He was from a neighboring pack that was quite small. I told her about my plans to see if she was willing to save our packs from this rivalry once and for all but she refused. Can you believe that? She chose her own happiness over her pack's. The next thing I know she's gone. She just disappeared. So I had to go after her. This plan in my head to save the packs from fighting is so valuable. We could be the saviors." He takes a deep breath and runs his hand through his hair.

"Why didn't you just leave her. You knew she didn't want to be with you. She found her mate." I snarl. He smirks.

"Unfortunately by the time I found her she already had a child and was pregnant with another. Now the rule states that the first born child will have the power of its parents, but it is still possible to have other children with the power. So I continued after her and well I had to take care of the main problem. Your father." My eyes widen. Then I hits me.

"It was you." I say in disbelief. "You killed him. Mom would never talk about dad so I never knew..." He laughs.

"Well anyway, your mother got away. I lost track of her for a while. So I sent for the best tracker in my family. My brother. He brought over his mate. Well we couldn't find your mother for years, and eventually I found my mate. I forgot about my mission and enjoyed my life for once. It was great, the only thing was, I was unable to have children with her. Yes, my mate was infertile, but that didn't stop me from loving her.

"After many years my brother had a child and we treated her like our own. One day they got into an accident, I was watching Victoria by myself. My brother and his wife were killed instantly, but my mate, she was badly injured. I knew the only way to save her was to have your mom heal her. So I set off on a journey to find her again. This time I built an army, of any passing rogue I found that was male I welcomed with open arms. By the time I found her and brought her back to my mate she refused to heal her. My mate died later that week and I became furious. And eventually yes, I had your mother killed."

I stand up, "You're a monster!" I shout at him. "You don't care about anyone but yourself. Of course she wouldn't want to heal your mate, especially when you killed hers."

He stands up and yells at me, "Sit down now. You will listen to me. No more interrupting or I will punish you." I look down and frown. God this sucks, why am I so useless.

I sit back down in the chair and he grins evilly. "Good, now back to what I was saying. That's when it hit me. Her first child was going to be turning soon and I needed to find her before she found her mate. Well unfortunately you found him. But luckily for me, he hasn't marked you nor has he mated with you."

I look at him with a frown. "That's not your business." I say angrilly. He lifts up his hand and slaps me across the face.

"Did I not say, don't interrupt me? Learn your discipline." He says viciously. I hold my face where it's throbbing. "Anyway, since I haven't had a child yet and neither have you, our child will have a mixture of both of our abilities. We will be the saviors of our packs in the Netherlands." My eyes widen. There is no way in hell I'm having a child with this creep. My wolf growls and tries to take over my body, she wants to rip this man to shreds. I don't blame her, I want to also, but now isn't the time.

So I hold her back. "Now don't worry, I will give you some time to begin to like me. But soon after we mate we will head back to the Netherlands and show them our child. They will be amazed at the power he or she will hold." He smiles proudly.

I look down at the table. "This is sick. I love Bryce and I could never love anyone else."

"Well that's going to change." He states and stands up. "Now eat something and you can wonder around if you would like. Just don't leave the premises." He leaves the room with his guards.

I feel too sick to eat so I just stand and try to find Ashley. She's the only person I want to talk to in this place. I walk around aimlessly and stop when I hear voices.

"Please let go of me. I'm sure master wouldn't want you to touch me." I hear Ashley plead.

"Act like he cares about a bitch like you when he found the girl he was looking for." A man says.

"That's not true, he told me he cares about me." She says defensively. "Stop please!" I rush around the corner to see two men surrounding Ashley. One man is holding Ashley's arms above her head while the other is starting to take off her shirt.

"Let her go." I say firmly. They look at me with wide eyes. Then the one taking off her shirt smirks and walks over to me.

"You must be the new slut." I frown at him. "You want to be a part of this too?" He grabs my arm roughly and drags me to where Ashley is. I rip my arm out of his grasp and punch him in the face. He lets out a cry but quickly redeems himself. He approaches me and knees my in the gut. I let out a screech.

I kneel down and hold my stomach. The guy is about to hit me again but the blow never comes. I look up surprised.

Bryce's POV:

"I can't believe this, someone really took Kari." Lainey says in amazement. "Who would do something like that?" She asked.

"Rogues that's who. Bryce said that he smelt rogues." Macy says answering Lainey's question. I stand up.

"Not just any rogue. It's the rogue who killed my parents." All my friends stare at me in amazement.

"This is bad, we need to find her soon." Jamie says. I growl.

"I know that, but we have no clues on where they are." I add. Gina stands.

"He's right, we can't just go around looking for her when we have no clues. We need something." Gina says. I run a hand through my hair.

"Nobody even knows where she could possibly be. We should ask around or something." I say. Maybe someone in the pack will have an idea about the rogues where abouts.

Suddenly there is a knock on the door. I look up to see Macy answering it. Polly is standing there with her daughter Rosie. "Um, sorry for the interruption but my daughter has something to tell you."

I looke at her daughter, "Yes Rosie?" I ask her. She steps out from behind her mom and hold her head down.

"Evie um... Evie said she had a dream that Kari got taken by a man." Her mom grabs her hand and looks to me.

"I know it's not much, but sometimes dreams mean something." That's when it hits me. That's not the first time Evie's had a dream that came true.

"Thank you so much Polly and Rosie," I say to them and run out the room.

"Wait where are you going?" Macy shouts as I run out the door. I don't answer her and head straight to Evie's room. When I get there I'm about to knock but I hear screaming.

"Stop! Don't touch her! No please!" I rush into the room to see Evie's eyes closed and she's tossing and turning. I walk up to her and shake her gently.

"Evie what's wrong! It's me Bryce." Her body freezes. Suddenly her eyes start to open and she looks at me with worry.

"Bryce, I saw Kari. She's with this man. He's not being nice to her. She keeps telling him no but he won't stop." She says through teary eyes. I hug her. "Evie I need you to tell me about everything you saw. What did the rooms look like. Is there anything about this place that is different?"

She sniffles for a moment, "well the floors and walls were white. Kind of like the ones in the place mommy took me when I caught the flu." So like a hospital? A hospital, they must be at an abandon hospital.

"Is there anything else? What did the man look like?" I ask her quickly.

"He was big and older. Like my mom's age. He was in black. I think there was a sword on a table near them. But he had her on a bed and she was tied up." She said softly. My wolf gets angry. Why the hell does he have my mate tied up on a bed. It has to be the man who killed my parents though. I stand up.

"Evie, is there anything else? If not I need to go and I want you to stay with Polly and Rosie." She looks down at her hands.

"Well he was... He was taking her clothes off. I don't know why he wouldn't just let her change herself. But she kept telling him no but he wouldn't stop..." She says lightly.

My eyes widen. Oh hell no. "Stay with Polly." I say as I run out of her room and head back down stairs to my friends. I run into the room. "Macy try to find all the abandoned hospitals in a hundred mile radius. Jamie, gather all the fighters and get them ready for battle. Laine and Gina I want you and the other girls to stay back and watch the little kids and keep everyone calm" everyone runs out of the room to do their own jobs. I walk behind Macy and watch her type away at her desk.

"You know when you stand over my shoulder you're just making the process slower." I let out an annoyed breath and walk over to a chair and plop down. I don't want to do nothing while Kari's out there. I noticed that Evie's dreams come to her before it happens so I'm praying that this guy hasn't touched her yet. "Bryce!"

I spring up and look over her shoulder. "What did you find?" I ask her.

"There are two abandoned hospitals. One is 30 miles away and the other is 40." I think for a moment. He must have a lot of wolves on his side so he must be at the place that is hidden away.

"Which one holds more and which one is abandoned in a more secluded area." She types on her key board a little more and then clicks on something.

"The one thirty miles away is in a more secluded area but the other one holds more people." I run a hand through my hair. Shit, which one is he at.

"Bryce! One of them was abandoned 40 years ago and the other one was abandoned 20 years ago. Clearly the one twenty years ago had better equipment but the other means no one will think about going to it."

"Which one is abandoned for 40 years?" I ask her.

"The one that's thirty miles away." She says. That's the one, it's the one that's more secluded too.

"It has to be that one. Where is it?" She presses a few bottoms and looks at me.

"It's south east from here. You have to pass through a creek, there's no other way. It might slow you down." She says quickly.

"Then we need to leave now."
