Bryce's POV:

I wake up with the most beautiful smell surrounding me. I open my eyes to see Kari in bed with me. I smile, I thought she was staying with the girls last night. I look at my beautiful mate for a while and decide I should go get breakfast before I wake her up. I get up from the bed and walk to the door to leave. Just then I hear a shifting from my bed, I turn around and see Evie lazily getting up. Wait Evie? Why is she here too?

"Brycey..." She says in a sleepy tone. I hold my finger up to my mouth and make a shh sound. Then I wave her over to me. Se gets out of the bed and walks over to where I'm standing. "Yes?" She whispers.

"Let's go have some breakfast so we don't wake your sister up." I say to her. She nods enthusiastically and follows me out of the room. I make my way to the kitchen and I tell Evie to sit up in one of the stools. There are people from the pack eating already and I walk over to the other side of the island and ask, "Anything in particular that you would like to eat this morning?"

"Uh..." She thinks for a moment. "Can I have Captain Crunch Berries?" She asks in her cute little voice.

I laugh a little, "Sure thing Evie." I walk over to the cabinet grabbing all the essentials to put together her breakfast. When I was done grabbing the stuff I placed the cereal and milk in the bowl and gave it to Evie with the spoon. "Here you are little one." I say jokingly. She frowns.

"I am not little! You are just huge!" She huffs. I laugh and she begins to smile. "Thanks for the Captain Crunch Brycey!" She starts to eat her breakfast. Okay now I need to find something to eat. I go back to the cabinet and grab a bowl of Coco Puffs. I sit down next to Evie and eat.

When we are done I clean out dishes. "So I need to take care of one quick thing in my office then we can do whatever you want." I say to her. She hops off the chair.

"Well let's hurry then! That way we can have fun quicker!" I laugh and allow my mate's sister to pull me to my office.

We enter and Macy is already at her desk working. She looks up at us and smiles, "Hey guys. Bryce the paper you need to sign is on your desk." She says and then continues her work on the computer.

"Thanks Macy." I walk over to my desk and sit down. I read over the paper that I have to sign to make sure I agree to what it's saying. I sign it then stand. "Alright what is it that you want to do today?" I ask Evie.

"Can you change into a wolf and then I can ride on your back? I've always wanted to do that!" I laugh at that. I've never had anyone ride on my back before. I mean I will do it if that's really what she wants though.

"Alright, that works for me. Macy, I will be out in the woods if you need me." She nods and zones back into her work. Honestly I don't even know what she's doing, I never worked that hard when I was Beta.

I follow Evie out into the woods. I make her sit down while I go shift behind a tree, when I come out she smiles brightly, "Aw! You're so cute!" She walk over and pets my head. "Okay lets run now!" I bend down and she hops on my back. I start off with a walk but slowly make my way into a trot. Evie's giggling the whole time. I get to a river.

Evie decides it would be a fun time to run around and play hide and seek. "Okay so you stay there and count to thirty, then you open your eyes and come find me!" She says excitedly. I roll me eyes, I mean come on of course I already know how to play hide and seek. She starts to walk away. "Okay start now! And no peeking!" I laugh in my head.

I count to thirty and stand up. Well this is going to be easy... I have my wolf senses to help me. I sniff the air and catch Evie's scent. I follow her exact trail and it leads me to a small bush. I poke my head in really fast to scare her. Nothing, there's nothing there. Wait I followed her scent though?

I her a small giggle and suddenly a little girl lands on my head. "Fooled you! See, I knew you would cheat and smell me out so I figured I would hide above you then surprise attack you!" Damn this girl is smart for her age. "Well since I know you're going to cheat, lets play a different game."

I shake her off my head and she lands with a thud onto the ground. She scrunches up her face and frowns and me for a moment. I laugh at how much she reminds me of her sister.

"You didn't have to be so rude." She huff then sighs. "Well I think we should just run around some more! You can be like my personal pony!" She giggles and runs to my side.

I become the new alpha and what do I do? I give little kids rides on my back and act as their pony. I sigh. But honestly it is fun playing with her, there's never a dull moment. I bend down and allow her to get on my back again. I trot around the woods for a while.

Suddenly I get the sense of an intruder on my land. My wolf growl viciously.

"What's wrong Bryce?" Evie asks. Crap I can't confront wolves with Evie on my back! Kari would kill me. My first priority is to get Evie home safe. I run toward the pack house and I feel Evie tighten her grip, "slow down Bryce I'm slipping!" She shouts. I slow down to a fast trot. "What's wrong?" She asks.

I make it back to the pack house and bend down to drop Evie off. She hops off my back, I walk up to the door and open it with my paws. Then I push Evie into the house. "Where are you going?" She asks me. I point my head to the woods and turn back and give her a light bark. She sighs. "Fine I will stay inside." She shuts the door.

I run to the woods and head straight to where I sensed the intruders. I smell the air and catch a scent of rogues. I growl viciously and follow the scent. I reach the place where the scent ends. I take in a deep breath to figure out how many were on my land when I catch two other scents. Both are familiar, one is of the man who killed my parents and the other is Kari's. My heart stops. He has her.

Shit. I look to the ground and see car marks I follow them but they soon fade. Why was she out in the woods? Why wasn't I there for her? None of this would have happened if I was with her. I take off to the pack house. I'm going to have a pack meeting, we are going to be looking non stop for her. This is all my fault.

Kari'a POV:

The man drags me through the door and the first thing I see is... Men playing video games on a couch? What? "Come on hurry." He drags me to a room. He lets go of my arm and opens the door.

I see injured men lying everywhere, and there is blood splattered all over the place. I gasp.

"What happened?" I ask in shock. A women comes running into the room with a bucket and clothes. She passes by me without even noticing me. The man in the black turns to me.

"A mission gone wrong is what happened." He spits angrily. I look around again in disbelief. "Heal them." I look at him in shock.

"I don't know how." I say to him. He frowns and walks up to me.

"What do you mean you don't know how." He whispers angrily. I look to the ground.

"I just don't know how. I was never taught how to heal... I mean I've done it once but I don't even know how I did it." I say. He growls.

"Well figure it out. You're not leaving until all these men are better." He turns to the woman in the room with the bucket. "Ashley!" He shouts at her. She flinches and drops the bucket to the floor along with the cloth.

She looks down and says, "yes sir." The way she says it I can tell how afraid of him she is.

"I want you to make sure this girl doesn't leave until these men are healed. Do you understand me?" He says viciously.

"Yes sir." The man smirks. He looks at me then scowls again then he walks around me and slams the door shut.

I walk up to Ashley. "So is there anything I can do to help you heal these men?" I ask her gently. She looks at me with curious eyes.

"Yeah I will bring more buckets, we need to clean their wounds so they don't get infected." I nod. "You know it's weird seeing another girl here about my age. Victoria and I were the only girls until you just showed up." She says and walks around me. Her brown dirty hair flows behind her as she walks to the door. "Um, please don't leave the room or Master Froam will be upset with me." She whispers.

"I won't leave the room, don't worry Ashley." I say with a smile. She nods thankfully and walks out of the room. I walk over to the bucket of water and bend down grabbing the cloth that Ashley dropped in it. I soak it in the water and then ring it out. I walk over to one of the patients and he looks at me. "So where is your injury?" I ask him since there's a blanket covering him.

"My stomach." Is all he says. I pull down his white blanket and I see him flinch. When I expose his stomach my eyes widen from the reveal of his injury. How is this man still functioning? He has a huge gash in his side, and some of his ribs are revealed. I cringe at the sight. Dabbing this wound with this cloth will only slow down the healing process and hurt him more. I sigh.

"I don't think me cleaning your wound will help you..." I say lightly. He lets out a sigh.

"I figured. All I ever wanted was to be part of a pack and not be a rogue anymore." He hisses in a breath from talking. "At least I'm going to lose my life for a group that's almost like a pack..." Wow, these guys actually have feelings... Why do they do such horrible things then? My heart swells from the idea that this man will never find a true pack or his mate.

"Let me just... Try one thing." He looks at me with sad eyes.

"Try whatever you want. Nothing will help." I take my hands and place them on his wound. He hisses from the pain of the contact. I close my eyes and think about the sadness of him never being able to experience life to its fullest. I feel pulses of energy flow through my body. When I open my eyes I can see a green light, it's working! I close my eyes real fast and continue my thinking process.

"Woah." The guy says suddenly surging with energy. "How did you do that?" I opened my eyes to see his stomach completely healed and I smile. I did it! I learned how to heal people! Sure I healed Evie before but I didn't remember how I did it. I look up to see the man looking at me in amazement. Oh yeah he asked me a question.

"Well, I'm like a healer. And uh, yeah I guess I can heal injurys on the outside. I'm not so sure about injuries that I can't touch though..." I say. The man hops up and stretches.

"Whatever it is that you did, saved my life. Thank you so much." He pauses to  stretch his stomach muscle. "Uh what's your name?"

"I'm Kari, and there's no need to thank me, it was the right thing to do." I say politely to him. "Well you should probably get going now, if you have any problems come see me again."

"I will thank you!" He runs out of the room and I let out a breath. Wow I feel a little tired after that, the stress must be catching up to me. I look up and see all eyes in the room on me. Uh, well this is weird. I guess I should go heal all of them too. Just then a frazzled Ashley comes running back to the room.

She inhales a couple of deep breaths than says, "How the hell is Greg running around the freaking house? He had a gash in his stomach." She asks amazed. I blush and rub my head.

"I kind of healed him..." I look at her and she walks closer to me.

"How?" She says bewildered. I laugh with no feeling in it.

"I'm like a healer. Whatever it's not really important, we need to heal everyone else. You have been taking care of these guys the whole time right?" I ask her quickly. She nods. "Good, I want you to get the ones with the worst injuries to me first, then I will take care of the others."

"Sure thing." She runs around the room and gives me patient after patient in order of the urgency of their injury. There are about 40 injured and I'm through 39. Only one more to go. Ashley bring me a man in his thirties, he hands me his arm which has deep claw marks in it. I place hands on it then allow the energy to flow through my body. I feel the energy surging through my body, but at a much slower rate than it did when I started healing the men. After about two minutes his marks are all healed. He thanks me and leaves the room.

"Oh Kari you're absolutely amazing!" She shouts. Then she gives me a strange look. "Are you okay? You seem really tired." Ashley's face begins to blur. And I place my hands on a table next to me.

"No I'm fine." I say. She grabs my face in her hands.

"No Kari you're not okay. Your eyes are completely dilated, you have bags under your eyes, and your skin is pale too! Geez, why didn't you tell me you were feeling like shit!" She brings me over to a bed she cleaned earlier. "Here lie down. I'm going to see if I can talk to Master and get you into my room." As soon as I get settled onto the bed I close my eyes and black out.
