Kari's POV:

"Is Kari in there? Hello?" A voice screams, waking me up from my deep sleep. "Kari, something is wrong with Evelyn!" The voice shouts. I shoot up from my position and run to the door. I open it to see a frazzled Polly. "Oh thank god, Evelyn is freaking out about some dream she had and she won't talk to anyone until she sees you."

"So she hasn't talked to anyone?" I ask her shocked. She shakes her head.

"She just woke up screaming about her dream and said she wanted to see you. That was all." She said frantically.

"Where is she now!" I asks. She points to her left.

"She's in my daughter's room!" She says. I run out of Laine's room and go straight toward Rosie's room. When I get there I see Rosie sitting on the floor and Evie sitting on the bed holding her legs up to her chest.

"Evie, it's me Kari. Are you okay?" I ask her and sit down onto the bed next to her. She looks at me in complete shock.

"You really are okay." She says. She reaches her hand out to touch my face to make sure I'm real.

I look at her strangely "Why wouldn't I be okay?" I ask her.

"Their back." Is what she tells me. Whose back? What does that mean.?

"What are you saying Evie?" I ask her gently and grab her hand in my own.

"I saw them. The people who killed mom, they are back. They took you Kari." I look at her in surprise. I never told her that mom died. How could she know that?

I gently rub her back and say "It was just a bad dream Evie. See I'm right here so it never happened."

"But it felt so real." She says in amazement. I smile gently.

"Most dreams feel real, but you need to realize that they are dreams. That's why you woke up in bed." She looks down and nods.

"Okay, I'm sorry." She says in a sweet tone.

"It's okay. How about we take you back to my room and we can fall asleep again." I ask her. She lifts up her head and smiles softly.

"Yes please." She says tiredly. I stand up from the bed and grab her hand. She jumps off and follows me out the room. Polly is waiting outside the door.

"I'm so sorry for this. She had a nightmare." I say to her apologetically. She smiles gently at us.

"It's completely fine, I just hope she's alright." She says.

"She's fine now, thank you so much, and once again sorry you had to get up this early." She nods and waves and we walk away. Evie and I make it to my room and I remember Bryce is probably asleep in there. "Evie, we are going to have to be really quiet okay? Bryce is sleeping." She nods her head. I slowly open the door.

I hear light breathing coming from the bed. I tip toe over and hop under the covers, Bryce left enough room so both Evie and I could get in. Maybe he just likes to sleep on one side of the bed, well it helped us out. Evie crawls in after me and cuddles into her pillow. I shut my eyes and allow sleep to take over, hoping that this time, I won't be woken up abruptly.

I wake up to the sound of silence. No breathing no nothing. I snap open my eyes and look around me, but neither Evie nor Bryce are in bed. Okay am I really a late sleeper? Why am I always the last one awake? I slowly get up and make my way to the bathroom. I handle my morning routines slowly. When I'm done I go put on a tank top and a pair of gym shorts.

I guess it's time to find the two losers that left me alone. I head to the kitchen. Before I walk in I hear a ton of people talking, so they should be in there. I enter and see a bunch of the pack there. Everyone's having a meal. One of the old ladies cooking says, "Ah Kari, would you like some eggs and toast?" She asks me gently. Well I am hungry but I couldn't ask her to do that.

"Oh it's okay, I can make them myself, you should go eat." She looks at me sternly.

"Dear I already ate, now sit down and I shall give you the best eggs and toast of your life." I laugh at her and hold my hands up in surrender.

"Yes ma'am." I say and sit down.

"Oh I'm Tasha by the way. I cook most of the time." I give her a sad look, no one should have to cook for everyone all the time. She quickly speaks again after seeing my look, "I cook because I love it not because they make me." She laughs and I join her.

"Well that's good! I didn't know anyone could like cooking so much. See I stick to the basic microwaveable meals..." I add with a sheepish smile. She stares at me in shock.

"You're our soon to be Luna and you don't know how to cook? Oh honey, I will teach you as soon as possible." She hands me a plate and I thank her. "Oh there's no need to thank me dear. You can thank me once you know how to cook like a pro." She states proudly and cleans up the mess she made. "Well I will see you around Kari." She says sweetly.

"See you around Tasha! It was nice meeting you!" See this is why I love old people. They are literally so sweet and you just want to hug them all. I gobble down my eggs and toast and wash my dishes. By the time I'm done most people have cleared out of the kitchen and I still haven't found Evie or Bryce. I decide to check the office next.

I walk in without knocking and see Macy sitting at a desk. She looks up, "Oh hey Kari. If you're looking for Bryce he took Evie outside for a run." A run? What Evie can't change yet!

"Thanks Macy! I'm going to go find them." I say and get ready to leave.

"Have fun. Bye Kari!" I wave to her.

"See yah!" I walk out and close the door behind me. Okay, time to go find those two rascals. I walk to the back yard and head straight into the woods. "Bryce! Evie!" I shout, but no one answers. I huff. Damn this woods is huge it's going to take forever to find them. I walk deeper into the woods and look for any signs of them. Nothing! What's up with them?

I turn and walk past a tree and stop. I back up a little and look at a bush I just passed by. I swear I just saw something in there. I walk closer and peek through the bush. I jump back quickly from what I see. There is a dark grey and matted wolf lying on the ground, it looks like it's injured or something. Maybe I should help him. I slowly duck through the bush and make my way over to the wolf. "Are you okay?" I whisper and bend down. As soon as I touch its fur it's head snaps up and he barks loudly. I jump up from shock. It's piercing red eyes stare deep into my soul as he slowly stands up. I back up a few steps. He takes another step closer. If he does that again I'm going to shift and rip this guy to pieces. Geez, I was only trying to help him out!

Growls sound from all around me and I stiffen. He wasn't alone. "Ah finally, we meet Kari." I hear a voice that sounds faintly familiar. A large man appears in front of me. He has a sword and he's wearing all black. I look up at him with frightened eyes. "Oh Kari, Kari, Kari. There is no reason for you to be scared. I'm only here to take you back to where you belong." Oh my god. This is the man who was after mom. I change my stance and scowl at him. "Oh so you're not afraid anymore is that it?" He asks me.

"No I'm not." I say angrily. I may be slightly afraid on the inside but on the outside I will show him no fear. He takes a step closer to me, "If you come any closer I will attack." I say to him.

"Oh, I'm so scared." He says and smirks. "Kari I hope you realize that if you try to defy us, things will go much worse for you. If you come with us smoothly your sister and your pathetic mate won't be touched." I freeze. They must have Bryce and Evie.

"Why are you doing this?" I ask him. He laughs.

"Oh dear I guess your mother never told you. Well we have a lot to talk about, and if you come with us without a fight I will leave your loved ones alone. But if you chose to defy me, then you and everyone you know and love will get hurt." I glare at him.

"What makes you think you could beat my pack?" I say sternly. He laughs even harder.

"Do you see this little group of wolves I have here?" I look around to see about 20 wolves surrounding us. They are all a dark gray with red eyes and matted hair. I look back at the man. "Well this is not even close to my true power of my group. This happens to be a small fraction of one of the many sections I have in my army." My eyes widen. How is his pack that big? That's crazy. I need to get out of here. I glance to the side and look for an opening. There's a small section where there's a bush and no wolves are standing near it. Good I have an escape route.

"Why do you want me anyway." I say to him. I need to distract him so I can get away.

"You're special Kari. So was your mom, but the bitch defied me so she had to go." He said with a blank face. Mom... I knew she was dead but it was never official until now. Tears well up in my eyes.

"You're a murderer! I will never go with you!" I shout and shift. I run toward the opening. I manage to get through the bush and I sprint full force. The next thing I know I'm on the ground and the man is over me holding his sword to my neck.

"Oh Kari. I told you this could be easier. Now I will give you one last chance. Come with me now or your whole pack including your precious mate and sister die." I whimper in defeat. I can't let him destroy my pack because I'm afraid. "If you're coming with me shift back now. If not then go ahead and try to fight back but it will be your demise." I look at him wide eyed. I don't want to shift infront of this guy. The man sighs angrily. "Kari if you don't shift now I will attack your pack." My wolf tells me to defy the man but I know I have to listen to him. I turn my head to the side and shift back to my human form.

He stares at my body for a little while then smirks. I shudder in disgust and my wolf growls viciously in my head but I don't let her take over. "Can I please have a shirt or something." I ask him nicely but never look him directly in the eyes. He stands up.

"I suppose." He whistles and a light brown small wolf comes out holding a big shirt. He takes it from it's mouth and throws it to me. "Put it on then come with me." I hurriedly throw on the shirt. Relief fills my body once the light material covers me. I stand and walk beside the man. He leads me in the opposite direction of the pack house. I sigh, well at least my pack is safe. "Get in." I look up and notice we are at a limo now. I hop in and the guy comes in after me. I sit down in a seat and notice we aren't alone. There is a little girl with light brown hair sitting there in a cute little dress, she looks to be about Evies age. She stares at me in amazement.

I smile at her and she says, "wow, you're so pretty." I giggle.

"Well thanks, you're quite pretty yourself." She laughs.

"Thanks! Sorry about the shirt, it's the only one we had..." I look down and then it hits me, this girl was the small brown wolf. How did she shift, she's only like eight years old? It makes no sense.

"Oh it's fine, it might even become the new fashion style." I say to her with a shrug. She giggles and hops up to sit next to me.

"I like you. Are you going to become my new aunty?" She asks me and holds my hand. I give her a confused look.

"That's enough Victoria." The man says. She looks down at our connected hands.

"Sorry..." She says with a sigh. I stroke her hand with my thumb and she looks up and smiles at me.

The ride continues in silence and at some point Victoria lays her head on my lap to sleep. I play with her hair. It soothes me to know that at least this guy isn't completely heartless since he brought a little girl to make me feel more comfortable. The limo stops and I look out the window. Before I can see the outside the guy grabs my arm and forcefully drags me out of the limo. Victoria falls onto the seat and watches me get pulled away. She waves and I wave back to her. "Stop pulling me so hard." I say to the guy.

He stops and I run into his back accidentally. He looks to me with angry eyes. "I'm sorry did you just give me an order?" He says with sternness in his voice. Oh so that's how this guy is going to be. I roll my eyes at him. He slaps me hard across the face and I whimper. I bring my hand up to my cheek and hold the throbbing area. "Don't ever talk to me like that. Treat me like a master." I look at him with shocked eyes and glance to the floor. Then he drags me into a huge building.
