Tonight is another NXT for Duke Atlas to once again show his thing. But this time, he was surprised to see Io in her ring gear tonight as the Genius of the Skies returns in action since TakeOver Toronto.

Duke, still feeling a bit nervous, sees Io all cold and focused on the task at hand. Io sees Duke, even if the latter is masked, but she watches him walk by.

Duke stopped by to wish Io luck.

Duke: Good luck!

Io was in the zone as she was already motioned by the producer to head down to the Gorilla Position. Duke shook it off, assuming she was not in a good mood. For the Joshi Judas however, she may have shrugged him off to maintain character, but deep down, she was all a flutter that he noticed and didn't ignore her, despite her walking off on him last week.

Io Shirai v. Cami Fields
Timeskip to the finish
After Io dominates the match, she had Fields down after hitting her Moonsault. She covered the opposition but decided against it midway during the pin, instead locking the helpless opponent in the Harajuku Clutch, making Fields tap out, giving Io the win by submission.

As Io's hand was raised, the punishment for Io's opponent was not enough. Io went out of the ring to bring out a kendo stick, readying to deal more merciless strikes. However, out came Candice LeRae as she grabs the kendo stick. Io smartly runs away, not wanting to deal with her opponent from TakeOver Toronto.

Immediately after Io Shirai v. Cami Fields

Alicia: The following contest is set for one fall. First, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, weighing in at 245 lbs, Riddick Moss!

Wade: Here comes Riddick Moss, ready to prove himself!

Vic: Well, at least he does without Tino Sabbatelli or Dan Matha

Alicia: And his opponent, from Sekigahara, Japan, weighing in at 220 pounds, Duke Atlas!

Duke Atlas makes his way to the ring in superhero like sentai fashion. Moss had no patience as he was being held back by the referee as Atlas proceeded with his entrance.

Riddick Moss v. Duke Atlas
Match Start
Duke stuck his hand out for a handshake at Moss, but the latter wanted nothing to do with Atlas as Riddick Moss kicks Duke on the gut and strike with clubbing blows. The referee intervenes before Moss hits Atlas on the head with a cheap kick on the face.

Riddick: You're nothing special! I can beat you down you fake hero!

Timeskip to the end of the Match
Despite the beat down earlier, Duke was able to retaliate and was able to turn the tide. Both Moss and Atlas are now by adjacent corners. Duke was about to go for a Corner Body Splash, but Moss intercepts to hit a Double A Spinebuster. 

Moss pins Atlas.

ONE....TWO...

Atlas kicks out, to the surprise of Moss. Riddick, furious, tries to stomp away on the recovering Duke before the referee separated him, delivering a warning.

Moss calmed himself as he was readying himself to deliver the Punchline on Atlas as Duke was trying to get up. Moss then puts Atlas in a headlock before going for a neckbreaker hold. Atlas knew what was to come next as he reverses it into a German Suplex hold. Moss tries to counter with a back elbow strike to the head, but Atlas reverses it into a Schoolboy Pin. 

Moss however kicks out, but that was the opening for Atlas to hit the Hero Blaster.

Moss is dazed as he gets up before Atlas hits the Red Nova

Atlas sees that the end is near as he drags Moss's body by the arms to the middle of the ring as he goes to the top rope to hit the Stardust Slam

Atlas covers Moss

ONE...TWO...THREE!

Alicia: The winner of this match, Duke Atlas!

Duke's arm was raised as Riddick was being helped out of the ring by the referee. As Duke was slowly walking, hand on his lower back, Kona Reeves clotheslines Duke from behind.

Kona then hits another Hawaiian Drop on the groggy Duke Atlas before cockily raises his arm in victory to the boos of the NXT Universe.

Backstage
Minutes after the Match
Sarah Schreiber was by the interview area as she faced the camera.

Sarah: Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time, Kona Reeves.

Kona cockily walks in with a smirk but was disgusted by Sarah's introduction.

Kona: You may be new here but need I remind you that I am The Finest, Kona Reeves.

Sarah: Sorry about that but Kona, why did you beat down Duke Atlas after his match against Riddick Moss?

Kona: Sarah, again, your being new here can only pardon you for some things but since you have eyes and a brain along with your beautiful exterior, I needed to remind that delusional moron that there is no such thing as heroes and that he is living in some stupid fantastical world where it is good against evil.

Before Kona continued, Riddick Moss walks in, holding to the back of his head still in some slight pain.

Riddick: I don't care if you were in the middle of something but you and I have a common thorn in our side. He showed me up and I want to beat him down twice as hard for the humiliation he did.

Kona: First of all, NEVER interrupt the finest. But I will let it slide, and we can talk to Regal about us tearing and beating down that idiot Duke Atlas and send his ass packing back to whereever fantasy world he came.

Riddick angrily agrees as both walk off.

Minutes after

William Regal, in his office, makes an announcement for next week's NXT.

Regal: To the NXT Universe, I have just made a match for next week's NXT in light of the events after Riddick Moss going head to head with Duke Atlas and the events that followed thanks to Kona Reeves. We will have a tag team match between the team of  The Finest, Kona Reeves and Riddick Moss going against Duke Atlas and a partner of his choosing.

After NXT
Duke saw the announcement and knew he was in trouble as he had to pick his own tag partner. As he was deep in thought, Io walks in and calls the masked wrestler.

Io: Duke-kun!

Duke spoke through his mask as he waved at Io.

Duke: Ohayo. Are you okay?

Io: Hai, what made you think I wasn't?

Duke: You ignored me earlier...

Io: Oh *giggles* I was focused for tonight.

Duke: I see, doing mischief?

Io: Hai! I did what had to be done

Duke: Be careful out there.

Io: I should say that to you *smirks*

Duke held his right hand near his nape, but under the mask, he was blushing at Io's worrying over him. 

Duke: Guess I better get going.

Io: Until next week, Duke-kun 

Io walks away as Duke walked the other way. He is then met with Kushida as he chuckles at the sight.

Kushida: Duke-kun, that was awkward.

Duke: What? 

Kushida: That exchange, Masami-chan (Io) was trying to get you to open up more!

Duke: Oh...

Kushida: I can help. But we gotta talk about other things outside of trying to get Masami to talk to you more.

Duke and Kushida talked the rest of NXT until both called it a night.
