After finally vanquishing his foe in The Finest Kona Reeves, Duke Atlas awaits who he will face tonight. Also present is the Genius of the Sky, Io Shirai, who will wait on what she has in store.

Backstage
Before NXT
Io Shirai was in her ring gear as she walked into Duke Atlas, seated on some crates. Io smiled and greeted her friend.

Io: Duke-kun....

Duke: *facing Io* Yes, Io-san?

Io: *smiles and hugs Duke* Arigato. Good luck!

Duke leaves as Io slightly smiles as she walks away aflutter. Kushida then walks into Io and smirks.

Kushida: I see your time out with him went well?

Io pouts and playfully punches his arm.

Kushida: Nani?!?!

Io: ばか!  (Idiot!) Why leave me with him?

Kushida: He cares for you. You should be grateful.

Io: But Duke-kun and I are only friends.

Kushida: *shrugs his shoulders* for now.

Io then playfully punches his arm more as if in an anime.

Timeskip to middle of 1st hour of NXT
Duke does his entrance as he goes to the side of the stage to pose for the crowd. As he does this, a gasp was heard as he turns and gets suddenly hit with a Cave In from none other than Cameron Grimes.

Cameron begins to stomp away at the masked man until referees restrain him from the beaten down opposition. Grimes has the last laugh as he mouths off Duke.

Cameron: You're nothing but useless cannon fodder. Fuel for my trip...TO THE MOON! 

He walks away smugly while Duke is being tended to by medical staff.

Timeskip to end of Io Shirai vs. Kayden Carter
(A/N: Guide is below video)

Io hits a springboard dropkick to the unsuspecting Kayden Carter. Despite the dropkick, Carter kicks out, angering Io Shirai. After countering a Wheelbarrow attempt, Io hits a German Suplex on the Fil-Am superstar before going to the top rope to hit the Moonsault for the victory.

Io grabs the microphone and begins to make a case for herself.

Io: Not Rhea, not Bianca.  Shayna, it's me!

Rhea walks out and makes her way to the ring before grabbing the microphone from Io.

Rhea: Last week, Bianca decided to run her mouth. Next week, I get to put her back in her place. *at Io* But Io, if you decide to spit my name out of your mouth too, I will have no problem shutting you up.

Io angrily stares down Rhea to end the segment.

After the segment
Backstage
Cameron Grimes smugly walks to the back as William Regal catches up to him.

Regal: What the bloody hell was that?

Cameron: Oh! Mr. Regal, I only initiated that masked greenhorn into NXT. 

Regal: That initiation was not warranted!

Cameron: Relax! If he says he is a damned superhero, they can rise up again. Or if he doesn't then he's nothing more than rocket fuel to my mission to get me, Cameron Grimes, To. The. Moon!

Regal: You'd better fix yourself Grimes. Or so help me, your trip to the moon will be cancelled!

Cameron: Oh gosh, that's adorable Mr. Regal, now I'll go ahead and not be a plank, as you say. Unlike that Duke Atlas, now that's a plank!

Cameron laughs his way out as Regal angrily looks at his direction.

Trainer's room
After NXT
Duke was being tended to and luckily he passed concussion protocol. Io walks in and sits beside him, now unmasked.

Io: How are you doing?

Duke: Doing okay. But something tells me, this is the beginning of another crusade.

Io: Hai... 

Duke: And you?

Io: *blushes* Oh uh, finally making my way to title contention.

Duke: *smiles* that sounds good. I just need to rest a bit. You can leave me here and I will just get a cab...

Io: Iie! I stay here until you can feel better.

Duke saw Io's concern and the two stayed on until the trainer deemed Duke capable of walking out on his own power with Io as both friends made their way back to their respective homes.
