Kaden, the male protagonist of the book needs a warning to go with him :p. He does make references throughout about his lack of belief in religion, so please do not be offended, as this is a fictional religion.

He can be very callous and up front with his words (He is rather savvy with his sexual innuendos)

Despite his violent context at the beginning you will NEVER see him raise his hand to a woman.
He brushes off the female character at one point when she attacks him ONCE, but other than that he is a calmer, more subdued and mature character, rather than angry and abusive.

This does not follow certain Werewolf cliches. If you find yourself asking why certain things your used to aren't in here, like smelling each other as mates, and so forth, I didn't include the cliche in here.

Themes of physical abuse between the protagonists is not found necessary. That is the major theme in most Werewolf books I don't agree with. Why bring something I hate most in society here?

Please do not mention skin colour. My characters skin colour is for you to decide, so please do not leave derogatory comments on either light skinned, or dark skinned people.

Also, a quick warning...There are frequently mature scenes within this book, but I always put warnings at the top of the chapter, for you to skip (:

~Prologue

"Can anyone tell me about Alpha Kaden?"

I freeze, my head snapping up.

My teacher stands at the front of the class, looking over us all. She looks disgusted by this concept she has been ordered to discuss. A girl at the front of the class puts her hand up.

"He's the leader of the Vengeance Pack," she says, happy to have said it before anyone else.

Someone else speaks from the back, saying, "I know that he is also the most evil man ever to exist."

Instead of denying this, the teacher nods. She agrees. Everyone in this room agrees...

But me.

Why don't I fear the man that has murdered many of my Pack members? Because I don't know him. I know I probably never will...

"And we all know what is expected from you right?" The teacher questions. The class nods, and begins to chant a vicious mantra.

'Lock the doors. Seal them tight. Close your curtains. Every night. Don't look out, in case he's there. Always live in total fear. Even if it means sacrificing your mate. Don't let Alpha Kaden seal your fate'

I roll my eyes, keeping my mouth sealed shut. I will not yield to their idiocy. These kids have easily been brainwashed by the people of this Pack.

The Purity Pack, where everyone lives in fear.

That's what we are known for.

The teacher locks eyes on me, as the kids round down from there fourth chant. She could see that I was blatantly refusing to say it.

"Mara," she snapped.

I flinched, but didn't take my glare away from her.

"Why don't you stand up and recite that to your whole class, by yourself?"

I bite my lip, noticing the whole class turn around and look at me. I have always lacked friends, but I can tell that this will make me even more of an outcast.

"No," I say.

Her jaw clenched, and she started to make her way toward me. She stands in front of my desk. I allow myself to match her gaze, not wavering.

"I don't think you understand how much power Alpha Kaden has over you," she murmurs lowly. I've always known that my teacher felt strongly about this subject.

"Obviously a lot, since he's completely brainwashed you," I snap.

She leaned down low, her mouth by my ear, and she said words that chilled my body to the core.

"Watch your back Mara, he's probably watching yours too."

HOW THE PACK SYSTEM WORKS WITHIN THIS BOOK:

Packs are based off of traits and belief within society...They are named after what they respect and practice. For example, the Purity Pack practices religion. Discipline Pack enforce rules. Love Pack press the belief of mates and so forth.

It's different, so I hope you can all get used to it.

This book is based around the Vengeance Pack. Think of it like the Pandora Box. There has to be bad in the world, and this Pack is it.

(This isn't related to divergent. I've never read the book, and got a couple minutes into the movie and was bored. This is based off a Chinese Legend about the Divine Rays, which I tweaked and completely did a spin off of)
