He rubbed my back and whispered under his breath, "I thought I lost you."

"I thought you would forget about me."

"How could I forget my best friend and my first love."

I returned this with a sniffle.

"How have you stayed alive?" He asked.

"I have been taught by a last that has lived with dragons for years! Of course that means that you and me weren't the first dragon riders, but still, she has so much knowledge and so much to offer! You have to come with me and meet her! This is great!" I finally had a chance to be with him again.

"Woe, woe! Slow down, I-I need time to process this!"

I was confused. Why would he be so hesitant to be with me? He just called me love. I think he read my facial expression. His face softened.

"I'm dating Astrid," I looked down. His foot was replaced by a metal contraption.

"What happened to your foot?" I tried to change the topic.

He laughed,"It's a long story. I'll tell you later, but for now you have to come back to Berk with me."

"But your father..." I stopped.

"I'm sure I can sway his mind." Hiccup reassured.

I nodded, " hold on I have to go and tell my teacher."

I ran back to d/n, climbed on and flew as fast as I could to our Icey home.

"Valka?" I called through the corridors. I heard a muffled response and walked in the direction. Dodging racing dragons as I walked and patting the baby's that played near her.

"Hi, well um I saw an old friend today while I was out practicing today and he invited me to come back to his island."

Valka wiggled her eyebrows every time I suggested my friend was a guy.

"Honey if that is what you want go and take it. I'll be here when you get back."

I hugged her, "Thanks, come on d/n lets go find him." We scampered out of the ice and flew back to the small island.
