"And when did Lexia go missing?"

Resting my elbows on my desk, I look directly at the questioner in front of me. An immaculate, proper lady sits across my desk, clutching a pad of pristine paper in her hands. A Detective from the Discipline Pack, anxious to find out where my mate has vanished to.

She looks painfully similar to Lexia too. Despite different facial structure, and her square rimmed glasses, she had the same green eyes and slightly off coloured blonde hair.

But I have to admit, she is hardly as stunning as Lexia.

"I don't know...Six days maybe?" I can't remember, because every moment has me on edge. I have never felt this much pain in my life, not knowing where she was. It brought me back to the day she first declined my offer.

Or maybe, the day I found out she was fucking her assistant. I've never wanted someone dead so much in my life.

"Four days, actually."

I glance to the left side of Detective Simone. Landon, Alpha of Power sits up right beside her. He stares at me worriedly, deep brown eyes a melting pot of emotion. A good friend of mine, he has been. He offered to leave his mate and new born daughter for a few days to assist me.

"And what do we think happened to her?" Simone asks, tucking a blonde piece of hair behind her ear. Maybe it was stupid of me to hire someone who looks so much like Lexia, but all the best Detectives are from the Discipline Pack.

Landon places his hand on the edge of the desk, getting my attention. "Let's be realistic."

"Yeah, realistic..."

I glance over to Simone's right, at the Alpha of Love. He lounges right back on his chair, folding a piece of paper-I never noticed he grabbed-over itself.  Another willing friend of mine.

Little did I know, Landon and Malik do not have the best relationship.

"And by realistic, we mean, not Malik's idea," Landon stated, refusing to look at Malik, who sat up, openly offended.

"Well, we think that maybe something happened to her...She may have been kidnapped or something," I tell Simone, who wrote down the information on her little pad of paper.

The words hurt to say. They burn at my throat, my body not wanting to admit that maybe it was a possibility. I didn't have much time to think about it though, as Malik cuts in.

"That's my idea," he tells Simone, glancing over to her paper. "Did you get that down...That was my idea."

Landon and I collectively rolled our eyes at the same time.

"So we have split opinions then?" Simone decides, sizing up both Alphas beside her. I felt bad for putting her between the two brooding men, but I would rather not a fight break out in my office, since they believe heavily in different things.

"She left him, it's that simple. What woman in her right mind would let a man bring her here against her will, and propose she has no other option then to stay? I would have left..." Landon declares.

It makes so much sense, it hurts. Maybe I shouldn't have told Landon everything...

Malik coughs. "As the Alpha-"

"Here we go," Landon muttered.

"Of Love, I must say that that, is the stupidest thing I've heard."

"You're the stupidest thing," Landon mumbles under his breath.

Malik sits up on his seat, twisting so he could look over at Landon. "Say that to my face, I dare you-"

"Obviously we have differences here, but can we resolve these once we have found Lexia?" I snap in annoyance. Malik slumps back in his seat, defeated.

Simone breathes in deeply, collecting herself.

"So, if she has been kidnapped-"

Landon scoffs. I narrow my eyes at him in warning, much to Malik's enjoyment.

"We need to find out who did it, so it will lead us to her," Simone proposes. A sliver of optimism crawls its way through the bleakness that has been the past few days. If I find Lexia, I will never let her go. Well, at least never let her outside, at night, alone.

"Well, if she has been taken, we need to send armies out to find her, now," Landon says. Tactical, as always.

Malik chuckles. "Oh yes, Alpha of Power, has to let his armies do something, considering they are useless back in his Pack."

I sigh deeply, knowing Malik's mocking words have pressed at a part of Landon that I know he doesn't appreciate.

"Well at least my Pack aren't full of sappy idiots who's only life goal is to find their mate."

"At least they stay with their mates."

"What would you know about mates?"

"Ah...Alpha of Love right here."

"Ironic how the Alpha of Love can't find his mate..."

"Neither can you."

"At least I can keep a relationship."

"Hey, my relationships last...The night."

"Also Ironic how the Alpha of Love has sex with-"

"Just sharing my love around..."

Simone takes us all by surprise, as she suddenly, swings her pad of paper to smack Malik, then Landon straight in the face. I smother my smile behind my hand, as Malik rubs the side of his head, and Landon huffs.

"Lexia is out there, possibly being held hostage, and you two are here arguing about this?" Simone says, sounding awfully exasperated. I don't blame her. Everyone moment sat here is frightening.

"Okay, if we are going to try find her, I think we should start in the Vengeance Pack, where she was originally," Landon says, obviously trying to express the rational side of this.

Malik goes to interrupt, but I glare straight into his glassy blue eyes, warning him.

"I like that idea," I muse. Maybe, with a twist of Mara's finger we can get Kaden to help us out in finding her. I just need her back here...With me.

Glancing at Malik, I notice the Alpha of Love looking very thoughtful. I decide to ask him what he is thinking about.

"I think we should get a gaze reader in...Maybe she can see what happened to Lexia," he says. Everyone pauses, as the first words of reason for the day come out of Malik's mouth. Of course. A Gaze Reader could look into my eyes, and predict where we find Lexia in the future.

If we find her.

20 minutes later, my personal Gaze Reader wandering into the room. Esmeralda. She came from the Devotion Pack after ideas of Phantom Wolves scared majority of the Pack members out, and I let her stay on the condition that she would serve me when I needed her to. Ever since, she has predicted a lot of my life.

Unfortunately, she walked in on two idiots arguing.

"My ancestors created the word soul mate."

"Wish they didn't create you."

"Esmeralda! Great to see you," I say, cutting Landon and Malik's voices off as I stood. She wanders in, a brightly coloured shawl covering half her face. Curiously, both Alphas and Simone watch her glide over, and into the seat I pulled out for her.

Slowly, she unwraps the fabric around her head. "I can sense the tension in the room. I hope we can solve the case of missing Lexia."

It doesn't surprise me that she knows without having to be told. She probably took one glance at my eyes and saw the pain deep set in there.

Without a word, she leans over my desk, eyes latched to mine. It's not hard to keep eye contact, when she basically draws you, as if she has puppet strings attached to my limbs. I can feel her searching, looking into the future for clues. The feeling is strange, like someone is violating my privacy, but I sit still through the intrusion.

"She gets saved in the future."

I nearly collapse in relief. We find her, shes safe-

"But I can't see who by. I see a shadowy figure, swooping in when needed most," she says, voice drawn and heavy as she falls into the trance that is my future. She can't delve too deep without seriously injuring herself, but she can still scrape at the surface, and reveal key information.

"But she is saved, and returned here," she tells us. I want to sigh in relief, but the thought of the shadowy figure saving her has me worried. Is it me? What if it isn't, and someone else becomes her Prince Charming and saves the day...

No, I can't think like that. "We should head out to look for her then. Now."

I don't really have an excuse as to why this update is a day late...I mean I was totally feeling this chapter.

And you would think I'd have time being on Spring Break. I'm the worst procrastinator I've decided.

Who's gonna' save her? My Bae? Perhaps...
