"I win again!" Josette said as she and Kane wrapped up another game of chess.

"I swear you're cheating somehow!" Kane teased, "Or using witchcraft."

Josette scowled, "You're just jealous that I'm better at it."

"I'm jealous that your panties get all the fun and they do nothing but hold you in there!"

"It's not like I'm falling out!" Josette laughed, tossing a pillow at Kane,"I'm so sore from last night. I didn't know you could go that long."

Kane grinned,"We haven't even tried all of the positions yet!"

Josette blushed. After the night before, she was sure the gods were even blushing.

She ran her hands over her stomach again and winced, standing up to stretch.

"I guess we have to leave the cave today," she said, looking around at their little hideout the last few days, "I'll miss this place, to be honest."

The last few days had been a delight for both of them. They were alike in so many ways and that surprised them, but in a terrific way.

Kane nodded, "It's our cave now."

Josette lifted her finger and wiggled it towards the cave wall, emblazoning hers and Kane's initials.

"There! Now everyone knows it's ours."

While Josette thought it was cute, she watched as Kane's claws came out of his right hand and he traced a heart around the lettering.

"Kane... "

"Just in case... "

She knew what he meant. What if they were an item? What if that was possible?

"Well, let's get the hell outta here!" Kane said, wrapping up the blankets as Josette picked up all of their trash and essentials.

"Keira and Cecil are here with a wagon," Josette told him, "You've been a great planner, Kane."

Kane smirked, "I'm great at a lot of things."

Heading back to the caravan, Josette and Kane went in opposite directions so they could lead their groups.

Maribel scowled as Josette approached her.

"Great leader you've been!" Maribel scoffed, "Fucking Kane is the only thing on your mind and not our well being at all!"

Keira stepped closer, "Shut the hell up, Maribel, or so help me.. "

Josette put her hand up to quiet Keira.

"No, let her speak. Let her tell me how she feels."

Maribel fumed,"He wanted me! Why did you get him?"

"I didn't get anyone, Maribel. We aren't an item."

Maribel beamed,"I thought you'd made it official?

Josette sighed and shook her head.

"No, but I'm not do sure Kane is interested in the playing the field the next few days.. "

Maribel grinned, "Just give me my orders so I can get outta here."

Josette gave her a list of to-dos and watched as she headed straight for the pack's side.

"That heifer needs some discipline," Keira said,"Or her ass kicked. "

Josette sighed,"She won't last long in the coven like this."

Kane was fixing some of the wagon wheels and talking to Cecil about the goings-on back at home.

"Yeah, I've got to start on that damn field. It's about time to plant the crops," Kane said, standing up and wiping his brow right as Maribel stepped into his view.

"Hey, Kane.. " Maribel smiled, batting her eyes flirtatiously.

"Hi... " Kane looked around for Josette, "You need something?"

Maribel licked her lips, "You... "

Kane smiled,"I think we tried that. "

Maribel stepped closer to him, running her hand over his bicep.

"Come on, Kane... you can't tell me you don't want me. I saw how you looked at me. You want me to do things that Josette never could. She's such a prude. "

Considering what Josette had done to him in the cave, he knew that was a lie, but he let Maribel continue.

"Maribel, stop this. You're acting so childish and it's not a good look for a member of the Soul Coven. "

Maribel pouted,"You'd take me if I crawled into your bed tonight, wouldn't you?"

Cecil coughed,"Damn... all of the guys here and she's got it bad for you."

Kane shook his head,"I'm not interested."

Maribel pulled herself closer to him.

"But Kane.. if we hadn't been interrupted, you would.."

"Are you jealous of Josette?" Kane groaned, "Is that what this is about? You can't see her happy?"

Maribel frowned, "She doesn't deserve you or to be mother witch! I deserve all of that!"

She moved closer and tried to kiss Kane, but Kane was having none of it.

Not recognizing his anger, he turned hybrid and hybrid wasn't what anyone wanted to see.

"Oh shit!" Cecil pushed himself out of the way as the 8 foot werewolf came into view, salivating, clothes gone, fangs out and claws ready.

"Maribel, just go!" Cecil warned, "Kane... "

Kane suddenly found himself back in flesh form when his friend calmed him down. Naked and exposed, he stepped closer to Maribel who was scared out of her wits.

"I don't want you, Maribel! I only want Josette! Understand me when I tell you that the next time you think about fucking with me or my girl I will end you and I don't make promises I don't intend to keep!"

Cecil tossed him a pair of pants and boots to put on as Maribel ran off.

"Damn, brother. I've never seen you like that. What's gotten into you?" Cecil asked.

Kane was still trembling when he and Cecil headed down to their pack.

"I'm not... nothing's going on... nothing's wrong."

Cecil smiled,"You know you can tell me, Chaos. Brother to brother. Is it Josette? Did something happen? "

Kane turned to him and shrugged, thinking about what he wanted to say.

"Do you ever feel like there's this knot in your stomach like you need something and once it leaves your sight for even a minute you long for it? Or do you feel complete when you're around someone who drives you crazy, but in a good way? Or you see a future and that future consists of that person, but you know you're not good enough for them? "

Cecil put his hand on Kane's shoulder.

"It's called love, brother. Damn, Chaos... you went into battle a boy and came out a man. "

"Fuck off... "

Cecil stepped in front of him before Kane walked off and grabbed his shoulders.

"You're in love, Kane.. plain and simple. "
