chapter five || bound
Taylah's POV

After I had finished unpacking all of my belongings in my new room, I smiled softly.

I loved my new room.

All the walls were painted a cream color except for one wall, which was painted a light lilac color. My king sized bed was covered in silky silver sheets that I absolutely loved already. I had a large desk opposite my bed with a spinning chair and a laptop. My room also had a large window that gave me a beautiful view of the forest. The window had silver curtains draping down the sides and a small stool right beside.

Sadly I didn't get my own bathroom meaning I had to share a bathroom with Beta Ryder's mate. I didn't mind all that much though since she sounds like a lovely and person and being here in this pack house is enough to ask for.

I unpacked the many books from one of my bags and placed them, in height order, on the shelf beside my desk.

Humming a tune softly, I finished stacking my books on the shelf. I took a step back to admire my work and smiled proudly once I saw how neat my shelf was.

Now to some people, the order of the bookshelf means absolutely nothing but to me, my books were my babies. They need to look tidy and organised otherwise I'll probably cringe every time I see them.

I decided to go downstairs and get something to eat because I was hungry, no surprise there.

Walking down the spiral stairs, my eyes wandered to the gorgeous portraits hanging on the wall. I guess this pack had a tradition to frame a painted portrait of every previous Alpha they had. All Alphas had their portrait framed with a gold plate with the years they ruled engraved. They looked so realistic! I trailed my eyes further down to find the most recent Alpha's. My mate.

He looked exactly like he did face to face. I couldn't get over how realistic the portrait actually looked. The fine details were so precise, right down to the golden flecks in his eyes.

Smiling softly, I traced my finger down the painting.

"Gorgeous, isn't it?"

I spun around so quickly, I swear I heard my neck crack. Standing at the top of the stairs stood a gorgeous girl. She looked to be a few years older than me. She had beautiful platinum hair that fell in nice waves, reaching her waist. Her skin was so pale, her hair almost blended in. Her golden eyes were round and had a sparkle of happiness. My eyes trailed down her face where I noticed a prominent mark at the base of her neck. I noticed that she was very small and petite, standing at around 5'2 she was also very skinny.

The girl started to slowly walk down the stairs, to where I was standing.

"I'm Eden, Beta Ryder's mate," she introduced, smiling softly.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Taylah, uh, I'm new here," I replied, outstretching my hand.

She looked down at my hand and let out a soft chuckle. She took a step closer to me before throwing her arms around my neck.

"It is so lovely to meet you, Taylah!"

I wrapped my arms around her tiny waist. I smiled gently before pulling back from the hug and gazing into her gorgeous eyes.

"It's great to meet you too," I replied softly.

And I meant it.

"I see you were walking down to the kitchen, would you like to go down to get something to eat?" She asked, cocking her head to the side.

I nodded slightly, a blush coming to my face.

She is so nice. I wonder if that's how everyone in this packhouse is.

"Follow me, Tay."

Eden walked passed me and down the stairs. I followed silently behind her as she led us down the stairs and towards the kitchen.

"I didn't pick up on your scent when I first saw you, actually I still can't," she told me confused.

"Yea, my mother taught me how to hide my scent, very well," I replied, smiling softly. "I guess it's just become an instinct to hide my scent now."

I miss my mom already.

"Really?" she asked wearily, turning back to look at me.

I nodded slowly, furrowing my eyebrows.

We finally reached the kitchen which was every person's dream. It was huge!

It had a soft, smooth granite island, which had wooden stools for people to sit down on. The walls were painted an off white color, matching the island. The unique decor of this kitchen brings a sense of beauty and comfort to this house. Everything about this house was gorgeous. Even the kitchen!

"Hm that's odd."

I turned around and met Eden's strong gaze.

"What is?" I asked.

"You being able to hide your scent," she stated, her round eyes squinting slightly.

I don't understand why it's such a big deal. I mean I could mask my scent, great! Why does she keep pressing on the topic?

"Yes, I guess so. But it is what it is," I said with a small shrug.

She hummed in reply before walking up to the fridge and taking out a large variety of food.

"Is there anything specific you would like to eat?"

"No, I'm fine with anything," I replied gently.

I watched as she worked her way around the kitchen gracefully and expertly. She smiled softly before looking over at me.

"Are you okay with eating Pasta Con Pomodoro E Basilico?" She questioned.

My eyebrows furrowed as I replied, "I don't know what that is, but it sounds very nice so why not?"

"It's an Italian pasta dish. Trust me you will love it," she winked.

I laughed and looked down at my hands in my lap. I've never eaten anything Italian before apart from pizza. I'm excited to try the new food origin, I'm also pretty sure I'll love it as I love all food.

"Give it about twenty minutes and then we can eat," she said, wiping her hands on a small hand towel. "Now, I am taking you for a tour!"

She set a timer for twenty minutes before tossing her apron aside. She rushed around the kitchen island and grabbed my hand, effectively pulling me off the small stool I was sitting on.

Dragging me out of the kitchen she took me up the spiral stairs and down a large hallway.

"Okay, this level is where all the Omegas stay," she said, gesturing to all the rooms lined up and down the hallway.

Turning left and going up another set of spiral stairs, Eden explained that this level and the next two levels above were for all the normal pack members, without ranks. Leading me outside, she showed me a larger house joined onto the side of the pack house.

This house was much nicer. The cream coating of the paint shone as the sun beat down onto it, causing me to have to squint my eyes. Perfectly twisted fenced gates kept the house enclosed, neatly trimmed shrubs and bushes surrounding the house. The roof was peaked, slanting down at an angle. As I stepped onto the pebbled pathway, I noticed a marble fountain sitting towards the right side of the garden. A goddess, the Moon Goddess, holding a flower crown in her outstretched hands.

"Now this is where the higher ranked wolves live. Alphas, Betas, Gammas and any family of those ranks. They live on the highest two levels and below them we have all the warriors on the three below levels. This is also where I live," she stated proudly.

I looked around and couldn't help but admire the gorgeous houses. This looked like heaven.

"So how many rooms are there all up, between the two houses?" I asked, turning back to look at her.

She placed her finger on her chin, pondering.

"Well, 280 in the main packhouse and 140 in the ranked packhouse."

My eyes widened slightly, my jaw dropping slowly.

Oh my gosh! This pack must be huge! I didn't think a pack could have so many people. How does the Alpha handle it?

A small bing was heard. If I didn't have super hearing I wouldn't have heard it.

"Food! Yay!"

Eden ran straight passed me and back into the main packhouse. I quickly caught up to her as she continued running towards the kitchen. I shut the glass door behind me as I entered the house and continued my way to the kitchen.

Entering the kitchen, I giggled when I saw Eden shoving food down her throat already. I picked up my bowl and sat down next to Eden, on the island.

Taking a bite, I practically moaned at the taste. It was amazing!

I have officially found my new favourite food.

"Oh, I am now in love with Italian," I stated, taking another bite of the food.

Eden sent me a look before shaking her head and continued eating.

"So, how did you like the Italian dish?" She asked, excitedly.

"It was amazing," I moaned, "I loved it!"

It truly did taste great! Eden was an amazing cook and if I hadn't seen her cook the meal, I would have guessed she hired a professional chef.

"Hm, just like you'll love that Italian piece of Alpha ass you scored," she teased.

A small blush found it's way to my cheeks and I averted my gaze to the floor.

"How do you know about that?" I asked quietly.

"The Great Eden knows everything!" She boasted, leaning back in her seat.

I felt very comfortable around Eden now. I was at complete ease speaking to her and I'm glad to say I have made my first true friend here. I don't know what came over me but Eden bringing up my mate caused my eyes to well uo with tears and my heart to break even more.

"He doesn't want me, Eden," I whimpered.

She rushed over to my side and wrapped her little arms around me, cuddling me to her side.

"Tell me everything that happened. Everything."

And so I did. I told her about my mother and I accidentally trespassing, being taken back to the Alpha's office, meeting the Alpha, finding out the Alpha was my mate, my mate not acknowledging my existence as his mate, meeting my mate's wolf and my mate rejecting me.

By the end of my rant, tears were running down my face, I hastily wiped them away with the palm of my hand before looking back to Eden. She squeezed me tighter in her embrace and I leaned into her for comfort.

"Listen here. I know Adrianno claims he doesn't believe in the whole mate theory but no male werewolf in their right mind would be able to resist their mate, their destined other half, let alone an Alpha. He's bound to you."

Ugh I'm sorry this took so long, to the people who have been waiting...

this is such a meh chapter, I had the biggest writer's block ever! I'm not proud of this but felt the need to update for ya'll, so here is chapter 5! please let me know what you think of the chapter, because I'm considering rewriting it later on...? idek xD

I promise the further chapters will be more exciting with more drama 0: and just overall better! more Taylah and Adrianno coming soon hehe c:
