Chapter Twenty-three: Conversations

Luca's POV
"Ow ow ow ow." Diana whimpered out in pain, her eyebrows furrowed and eyes closed.

"I know darling, I'm almost done." I finished wrapping some bandage over her head, trying to prevent any more blood to leak out of her head. I gave a lingering kiss on her forehead before helping her getting off of the sink.

"I need to talk to Lena," Diana muttered, starting to make her way to our bedroom door. I slid in front of her, blocking any access to getting out. I saw her fold her arms and sigh annoyed.

"Luca what are you doing?" She asked irritated. I gripped onto her waist, pulling her into a loving embrace.

"I need you to rest my love," I mumbled into her hair, loving the feeling of her in my arms. She rested a hand on my chest, pushing me away from a little. I felt my heart sting a bit.

"Luca, I'll be fine. I've been in worse pain, please I need to see if she is okay." I shook my head, standing my ground in front of her petite figure.

"No Diana, you are going to rest. Why don't I go talk to her?" She scoffed, licking her plump lips.

"Are you sure you can handle it?" Diana's arms wrapped around my torso, tightening a little bit. I rested my chin on her head, giving it a kiss every few seconds.

"How bad can it be?" Diana snuggled into me, whispering lowly,

"Don't take too long, I wanna stay with you for the rest of the day."

I gave her one last kiss on the lips, leaving our bedroom. The hallway was dark and empty, quiet as well. The only sound heard was small chatter from downstairs in the living room. Small creaks left the wooden floor as I made my way towards Lena's guest room. Once I made it, I knocked quietly waiting for her to open.

"Lena? It's Luca. May I come in?" She didn't answer, yet her soft sniffles indicated she was listening. I decided to continue a little bit of the conversation that was planned in my head during my walk here.

"Remember when Jay, my wolf was here and you both were sitting on couches? I heard everything you said about not being able to find the one person you should spend the rest of your life with." Her feet shuffled to the door, clicking the lock open. Lena ran back to her bed, covering her face.

"Y-y-you h-heard that?" I nodded before realizing she couldn't see me. I cleared my throat before replying.

"Yes." A sob left her mouth making me wince a little bit, I stood by the door, hands in my pocket. This is not a good start.

"That's so embarrassing!!" She screeched. I kept my mouth shut until she began to quiet down for a little bit.

"No, it's not..." I can't believe I'm going to tell her this,

"I know exactly how you feel." She wiped her face, showing me her red eyes. Lena sniffed loudly, scooting over for me to sit next to her on the bed.

I walked towards her, accepting the nice gesture.

"You do? But how?" I scoffed and shook my head.

"Lena, there is one thing you should know about werewolves. We live for love and we die for love." I saw her breathe in heavily, nodding for me to go on.

"I've been waiting for Diana ever since I was just a pup. My mother always used to tell me, that having a mate is the greatest thing anyone could ask for. I didn't believe her for 15 years. 15 years, that's a long-ass time." I paused, closing my eyes. My eyes opened again, seeing her intense stare.

"At the age of 18, we are meant to find our mates. I didn't. My mother passed away instead and my father followed her a few months later. I had to take my father's spot as King. My brother disappeared leaving me all alone."

"That's a lot to go through Luca. I'm so sorry." She cut me off sympathetically.

"Don't be. I didn't find my mate for the past 6 years and I just gave up hope. I thought that maybe I didn't have one."

"But you do. That's the thing, how come she isn't afraid of you Luca, why do I feel this fear, why am I scared of him, Luca?" A sigh left my body, and I put my hands on my knees, rubbing them slowly. What the f*ck do I say to something like that?

"Lena, when I first met her, she was terrified of me. Think about how she felt. Diana was lost and didn't even know we existed, she wandered into my territory with fear." Lena stared down at her feet, swallowing her spit.

"You're right. I shouldn't be scared." I clicked my tongue.

"It's okay to be scared. But in all honesty, I really think you should give James a chance. I promise you won't regret it, I know Diana doesn't." She nodded and stood up, I stood up beside her.

"I have to find him. This is my time to make things right, it's now or never." She ran out of the room, making her way downstairs. I followed closely until I made my way back to my room.

There Diana laid in my shirt in the sheets of our bed, her precious eyes closed and soft breaths leaving her irresistible lips. A smile formed on my face as I kicked my shoes off. I slid in right next to her and almost immediately she cuddled into my side.

"Feeling better?" I whispered, closing my eyes. She hummed in response, giving my shoulder a small peck.

"How was she?" Her angelic voice asked.

"She was crying. A lot. But I talked to her and she's on her way to find James." Diana shot out of the bed, groaning in the process while holding her head. I sat up next to her, pulling her into me.

"Diana be careful!"

She squinted her eyes in pain.

"Luca, what did you say to her?" I bit both my top and bottom lip to prevent myself from saying anything.

Diana jumped out of the bed and sprinted down the stairs. I obviously followed after her, trying to avoid any more pain to be caused towards her.

When we made it downstairs, she halted causing me to crash into her a bit.

"Shhhh!" She just shushed me. I held onto her waist and turned my attention to what she was looking at. James and Lena. Lena began walking towards him with caution as he sat on the couch, head in his hands.

"J-James?" I saw his head snap up, my grip on Diana's waist tightened.

There he stood awkwardly, not knowing what to say or do.

"God he is such an idiot!" I whispered, which caused Diana to smack my arm. I growled lowly and continued to watch to awkwardness play out.

"So...you're my mate," Lena mumbled, coughing a little. He nodded moving a little closer to her, she backed up slowly.

"You're really pretty," James whispered, scratching the back of his neck and looking down at his boots.
Diana let out a little awe and put a hand over her heart with affection. I turned Diana around so she was now facing me and raised her chin up with my finger.

"And you are gorgeous." Her bright smile made my day better than ever and soon after so did her loving kiss. I pulled away and rested my forehead against hers, the bandage slightly getting in the way.

"Why don't we go outside in the backyard and get to know each other?" I looked up and saw James holding a hand out for Lena. She hesitated but grabbed it softly.

"Sure." Their footsteps faded as they made their way out of the Packhouse. Diana grabbed a hold of my hand, taking me to the couch. I took a seat and she sat in my lap, cuddling into my warmth.

The kitchen door swung open revealing Alex. He was a pretty quiet kid, but was probably the only kid who hasn't made it on my bad side. Hayden followed a little after.

He sat on the loveseat keeping to himself.

"Hey, Hayden," Diana said politely. He gave her a small smile before leaning back into the couch. He crossed his legs before clearing his throat.

"Hello, sweet pea. How are you doing?" I growled lowly at his nickname for her, my claws growing. Diana kissed my chest softly before speaking.

"I could ask you the same thing." I saw her glance at his torso, trying to see his bite mark. Hayden also seemed to take notice. His eyes shifted down and he lifted his shirt up a tiny bit.

"Well, it's much better." She nodded. I squeezed Diana's thighs, jealousy arising in me as she stared at his body.  My jaw was now clenched and my teeth gritting slowly.

"Diana, who is this?" Hayden asked quietly, pointing towards me. She sat straight in my lap, grabbing a hold on my hand in a way to calm me down.

"This is Luca, he was the...wolf you met earlier." Hayden's eyes widened, mouth now gaped open. He pushed his glasses up with his pointer finger.

"I thought the wolf's name was Jay?" Smart guy. Diana gave him a quick nod.

"It's complicated."

"Well, hello Luca I'm Hayden, Diana's youth leader."

"Call me Alpha." He looked confused but went along with it. Diana played with my fingers keeping to herself.

The front door opened revealing Jade, her stomach a lot bigger than usual. How long have they been here?

"Woah, Jade! Your stomach is getting huge! That is going to be one large baby." Diana squealed happily, clapping her hands. Hayden jogged up to her putting a hand on the curve of her small back, the other hovering over his child.

I began thinking about how it would be if Diana was pregnant. Would the next Alpha King be a boy or a girl? Would my child look more like me or Diana, trust me they would be blessed if they looked like her. All I know is that I will love my pups as much as I love my mate, spoiling them would be really easy. Mating would be the best part of this whole process.

The feeling of her hands tingling on my body like electricity, sweat drenching both of our bodies. Woah, too much detail Luca.

"Luca." I snapped out of my thoughts, staring into the dreamy brown eyes that were full of pure curiosity.

"Finally! You dozed off! I'm just going to head up to change, get ready for dinner." I breathed out lowly, nodding quickly. Her warm body left mine, causing my little friend to jump in excitement to see her leave. I grabbed the nearest pillow near me, covering the now definite boner my dumbass had gotten in front of everyone.

"Luca, sweetie are you okay?" My body jolted at Jade's voice, seeing her rub her belly. I gave her a wide smile, letting out a small laugh.

"Wait, why are you able to call him by his first name?" Hayden asked, his eyebrows raised high.

"Shut up," I said blankly. Blake walked out of the kitchen, cookie in one hand. Shit, I'm going to be the joke of the week. My grip hardened on the pillow, pushing more onto the blood rushed area in my body.

"What's up Alpha. Jade. Hayden." Blake took a large bite in the chocolate goodness, flopping right next to me. The backyard doors opened revealing Lena and James holding hands. Great. More f*cking people.

"Hey! I see you guys holding hands!" Monica yelled to my left. I turned my head to her direction to see her cuddled into Blake's side.

"Monica when the hell did you get here?" I grunted annoyed.

"This is really f*cking funny. Can't wait until they realize their Alpha King has a boner. HAHAHA HAHAHA!"

"JAY SHUT THE HELL UP!" I mind-linked back, an angry expression now on my face that everyone can see.

"Alpha what's wrong?" How the heck am I going to explain this to them?

AN: Hello everyone! This chapter was just a small filler chapter. It seems like the Pack House has become REALLY close with each other. Will Luca be able to escape the wrath of Diana's group, his Betas, and Gammas from the humility? Much Love!
