Chapter Twenty-nine: Brothers
Diana's POV
His bones made noises like fireworks as he stood up with ease. He blinked his eyes that represented hell itself, a smirk resting on Jay's face relentlessly.
"Hello brother. Long time no see." The pressure on my chest was soon relieved as Theo's wolf climbed off of me and moved closer to Jay, or Luca. At this point I couldn't tell, the only other person standing in front of me was meant to be my mate.
Xavier shifted back and stood tall next to Jay, his nude body causing me to cover my eyes.
"Wow, Jay how are you, buddy?" Xavier asked with full sarcasm as he cracked his neck and knuckles. I heard my mate scoff and snarl harshly at Theo's large wolf which stood in front of me.
"Move out of the way Jax. I will not ask again." So that must be Theo's wolf name, interesting how similar they are... Jay walked closer to me and caused Jax to back up. I slowly stood up and moved to the side of both of them. My feet led me to Jay and I gave him a bear hug, making my face become hidden in his stained t-shirt.
The feeling of his arm wrapped around me made my heart shake with joy. A warm pair of lips touched my forehead and Jay's body left mine. His claws grew as he hissed towards his so-called brother.
I heard a roar next to him and saw Xavier's eyes the exact same color of sheer blackness as Jay's. He turned his head to me and winked before speaking.
"Jay, why don't we teach this mutt a lesson?" Luca bit his lip and nodded in agreement, slowly walking closer to Jax.
"Let's." I went behind the two kings and saw the show go down. They both grabbed Jax and body-slammed the poor wolf, the wind most definitely knocked out of him. Scratches imprinted the bodies of all three, a full bloodbath was occurring right in front of me.
My feet wandered away from them as I sprinted towards the pack with all our members. I had a hard time breathing as my lungs finally reached their full air capacity.
"C-come on. You can do this." I whispered to myself.
My dehydrated body was trying to tell me I shouldn't run, yet I never listen. Black dots blurred my vision and I soon felt like I was floating. Damn, that's not good.
Darkness compelled my body as I laid on the ground, waiting to be saved once again.
Matt's POV
I squinted and saw Diana on the floor, her breaths super slow.
"Diana! Oh shit, please don't be dead." My knees scraped and peeled even more through my jeans as I slid next to her. With a light movement, my hand patted her cheek trying to wake her up.
"Diana, wake up. Please do us both a favor and wake up." Her eyes were still closed and her dark skin began to soon become slightly pale.
Oh my gosh, this can't be happening. Okay, I need to do something quickly. I grabbed Diana, holding her bridal style as her neck stretched a little. I sprinted back to her Packhouse.
Right when I made it, Xavier flew in front of me, causing me to back up and crouch on top of Diana to protect her.
"Matt?" He hissed. My head shifted towards him and I let out an awkward chuckle.
" 'Sup Alpha..." he growled in response and saw Diana in my arms. Uh oh, this doesn't look good. A bare hand held tightly onto my throat as I made a wheezing sound. My blurry vision showed Luca standing tall.
"What did you do to her?" Xavier disappeared, continuing to rip Theo to pieces. His claws sunk into the sides of my neck.
"Jay, let him explain!" Xavier yelled on the other side of both of us. Luca threw me onto the ground and pulled Diana into his lap.
"Diana, darling please wake up." His deep voice scratched. I began to move closer to both of them and Luca roared in anger.
"Back the f*ck off. Haven't you already done enough?" I saw a blur of something black run into Luca, causing Diana to hit her pale head onto the floor.
"Shit!" I yelled, forcing my body towards hers. My ear went straight to her chest, her heartbeat becoming slower. Luca gripped the wolf, tossing him with ease before gripping my already tapered shirt.
The anger became more...fierce in his dark eyes, causing me to gulp with fright. I gave him a goofy smile and chuckled scared.
"Hey dude, pretty nice weather up here don't you think?" My back soon hit the ground and Xavier stood in front of me, hissing towards Luca.
"I told you, let. Him. Explain." Diana was dying in front of us and all we could do was argue, not taking any action.
"I FOUND HER!"
Theo was limping his way back to us and bit Luca's calf. His loud howls could have made my ears bleed. I covered them and squeezed my eyes shut in discomfort. A slicing sound pierced the sky and soon so did the sound of a body thudding onto the floor.
I heard Xavier screaming this time. My eyes peeled open as the sound of my Alpha in pain worried me. I shifted my body to see him laying on the ground holding onto his shoulder. A large mark left by Theo caused a sort of burn on his skin.
Luca kicked Theo before straddling the large wolf and punching the shit out of it.
"This is for messing up my life! Hurting my family, my mate!" Luca punched continuously before he continued to speak,
"This is for leaving me! Blaming me for Mom's death and telling Dad it was all my...fault." Once Theo looked like he couldn't take it anymore, Luca grabbed a strong grip on his neck.
"You were supposed to be my brother," I made my way behind Luca, wanting to pull him away, but I knew I couldn't stop him. His sniffles allowed me to know he was crying, emotional pain struck him at this moment.
"I've waited day and night hoping you would show up, you never did. You deserve to die and rot in hell. It was nice knowing you. Brother." A crack left Theo's neck and soon his body went limp. I saw Luca stand up and put his hand over his mouth, sobbing.
Without any thought my hand went onto his bare shoulder, pulling the struggling Alpha in an embrace. He sobbed loudly pulling me close to him.
Xavier held Diana in his arms and stood next to me.
"I think it's about time we start heading to the pack." I nodded in agreement and patted Luca's back once more.

Blake's POV
"I know, I'm scared too," I whispered in Monica's shoulder, holding her body close to mine. We all sat on the fresh ground, huddling together, and just hoping for the best at this point.
"What if the prophecy was right? What if they are dead?" Hayden muttered to himself. I shook my head and clicked my tongue.
"No way, I didn't feel the bond break, they are still alive, that's for sure. We just don't know how long..." Mon replied. I sighed softly and stared at the small human in Jade's tired arms.
We have been through so much in such little time, I wonder how we do it.
"Guys I have to say something," Alex spoke for the first time. We all gave him our full attention, gazing right though his battle scars.
"I just wanna say how much I love you guys. Especially to you, Monica and Blake, I mean you both opened your heart and took us in when we were really disrespectful. I can't thank you guys enough for all you have done for all of us, and there is no way we can repay any of it." I smiled and shook my head.
"Hey, we all need to stick together. We are family." I answered back, his eyes watered and he nodded sniffling. Leaves crunched behind me and everyone stood up in a rush preparing for anything.
James deep breaths caused us to relax. Lena was on his back, whimpering once in a while.
"She's in heat, I-I don't know what to do."
I began walking slowly toward them and James began to roar uncontrollably, warning me to stay back. He was fighting his wolf for control, as he wanted to protect Lena with his whole being.
I backed up and Monica made her way towards them this time.
"James, all you can do right now is just stay with her. Keep her close and give her anything she needs. Sit down and let her get comfortable next to you." He did exactly what he was told and kept Lena in his lap, petting her hair for reassurance.
Aiden took off his denim jacket and handed it to James, trying to keep Lena warm. Daniel held the baby in his arms and stood next to me, cooing a tiny bit.
"Are you all hungry?" I asked everyone. Most stayed quiet and just nodded, a couple of responses heard.
"I'm gonna go to Alpha Leo, ask him about some food options for all of us, stay here." I gave Monica a quick peck and made my way to his p
Packhouse. As I had started walking, my heart hurt seeing all the lives affected by this cruel war.
Children crying to our best warriors sobbing and looking for their families. I mean what if Luca just doesn't show up? What if Luna was actually dead? That would make me Alpha King and I was not ready for all that pressure.
'You are never meant to be ready for these kinds of things, but it's for the best.' My wolf spoke. I completely agreed. Many called my name yet I ignored them and kept walking without speaking.
I have one job right now, and that's to keep everyone well fed.

Luca's POV
There she laid in my arms, her body so lifeless. No emotion showed on her beautiful face. My tears fell onto her smooth skin, having them slide onto the dirt floor.
"I love you. Please wake up."
"Come on, just a few more miles. We are almost there Alphas." Matt said breathlessly. He turned around and his small smile disappeared as he saw Diana. His hand wanted to touch her, but I pulled her back, glaring into his soul.
"Don't." He raised his arms in surrender and left me alone for the next thirty minutes. I kissed Diana's dry and cracked lips, not let go of her for one second.
"We both survived," Xavier mumbled, climbing the few rocks in our way.
"The prophecy may have been wrong." Xavier shook his head and wiped the sweat off of his forehead.
"No, they are never wrong." I gulped loudly and put my attention back to Diana. There was no way I was going to leave her here, to face the world alone. I couldn't do that.
"Well we aren't dead yet Xavier, be thankful." He scoffed and kept quiet for the rest of the way. I rolled my eyes.
I saw the sun starting to come up and chuckled a bit, thinking about what happened a few days ago with Diana.
Flashback
I felt the air get knocked out of me as Diana jumped on me and the bed.
"Luca! Get up!" She climbed on top of my back and began poking my cheek and kissing my shoulder blade.
"What's wrong?" I groaned, keeping my eyes closed, hoping to get as much sleep as possible. My back was light once again as Diana climbed off and began pulling my arm. I heard a squeal and a thud. My eyes shot open and I immediately got up to see if she was alright.
"Are you okay? Do we need to take you to the pack doctor?" I asked climbing out of bed. She started laughing and jumped in my arms, my shocked state preventing me to hug her back.
"I knew that would work!" She grabbed my hand and pulled me out onto the patio.
"Darling, what could you possibly show me at this time?" I look at the clock on the nightstand.
She opened the door and a cold breeze was the first thing we met. She hugged me for warmth and watched as the sun rose in amazement. I stared at her beauty and ignored the sun completely. I grabbed my phone and snapped the mesmerizing photo of her, changing it to my lock screen.
"Isn't it beautiful Luca?" She asked as her eyes met mine. I grinned and pulled her closer to me.
"It really is," I whispered.
