Graeme's POV
I have never seen Janiyah this upset before. I hope when Jennifer explains what really is going on, Janiyah will calm down.
Even I am still in disbelief. Hopefully, this will bring my family back together. I also planned a family event to bring us closer as well. And, maybe, just maybe, Janiyah and Megan can work on a friendship.
Everyone is coming to my house for the meeting. Janiyah, Damion, and I have been in the kitchen, as well as cooking on the grill for dinner. I have tried several times to talk to her, but she growled at me. I knew better than to try again.
The doorbell rang. Damion darted out of the kitchen before I could. Dang. He came back with a nervous look on his face.
"Uh, uh, it was Megan. I told her to have a seat in the living room," he says.
Janiyah started slamming everything within her reach - pots, pans, spoons, bowls, etc.
"Calm down, woman. I wanted to tell you, but it is better that Jennifer explains it."
I started massaging Niyah's shoulders. "As soon as we get rid of everyone, you and I are relaxing in the jacuzzi. And, stop that moaning."
"I can moan if I want to. This is our house, isn't it? It is too bad for anyone who hears it. Janiyah Alexia Harrison is the queen of this castle. Okay, okay, I'm calm now. Stop massaging my back and shoulders like that and I will stop moaning. Jennifer better have a valid reason or else I am going to raise heck."
"Trust me, I know you will. So, queen of the castle, kiss me." I went in for the kiss, and it was about to get heated until Damion interrupted us. "Damion, why did you come back in here?"
"Umm, now Jennifer is here. I'll stay in the living room, just in case I need to referee."
I looked back at Janiyah. "I'm as calm as I will ever be. I'm going back outside to the grill."
Please let this night be over quickly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was too, darn quiet at dinner. I could hear a pin drop on the floor - that's how quiet it was. I thought Janiyah was going to scrape the enamel off her plate.
I was about to end the quietness, but Janiyah beat me to the punch.
Jennifer's POV
"Okay, let's cut the crap and get this meeting over with. Why did you build a wedge between my family to be?"
Graeme has the right woman for him. I read about her online, and she is the perfect one. I'm happy for him.
"Me cheating on Graeme and dating Jackson is an act. I work for the Bureau of Crime agency. I was chosen to go undercover and expose Jackson Pierce. I had to use someone so that I could make myself known through Hollywood. Once I was established, I put my plan in motion to go for Jackson Pierce. Unfortunately, it was Graeme."
"Why was my brother chosen?" Megan asked.
"Like I told Graeme, he was and still is one of the most sought after actors there is - for movies and amongst fans around the globe. Jackson at the time wasn't popular. But once he started getting those A-list movie roles, his popularity soared. Once he became popular, that's when I got the call to uh, cheat with Jackson to start investigating him. I can't tell you everything, but I can tell you that he is accused of stealing large sums of money. But, no one knows where he keeps it or what he does with it."
"He's what?! You mean he not only steals movie roles, but he steals money too?!" Janiyah asked. I could tell she was pissed.
"Yes, he does. And, sadly it is from several charities that he holds fundraisers for. What we don't know is what he is stealing the money for. Listen, it is my fault what happened between Megan and your family. So, basically what I am saying is that I used Graeme and Megan. That's all that I am able to tell you."
"Listen, Ms. uh..." Graeme's father was about to say.
"It's Agent Jennifer Wallace."
"Right. My family was torn apart because of this. I understand you were doing your job but wasn't there another way?" Liam was upset as well.
"My boss told me to use whatever means necessary. We are talking about millions of dollars Jackson Pierce has hidden. I really am sorry. So, please disregard the way Megan behaved. That totally was my fault."
She got up and ran out of the room.
"I'll go talk to her. I am probably the worst offender against her." Janiyah excused herself to follow Megan.
"Jackson is indeed a slickster. It has been very hard figuring out what he is doing with that money."
"None of us agree with what you have done, but I'm willing to help in any way to bring Jackson down. Who steals money from a charity?! That's downright unacceptable!" Graeme says.
"I'm willing to help too. I'm Janiyah's brother, Damion."
"That would be great. Whatever you can find will help for sure. But you need to be careful. We can't let him know that we are tracking him. Well, I better be going now. I have caused you all enough trouble. Here is my card. Call me if you are able to find anything on him. Oh, before I leave, I did hear him talking about another charity event. I'll get the details and see if I can get tickets for you guys. Let me know who wants to go. I'll show myself out."
Janiyah's POV
Megan ran outside and sat in one of the lounge chairs by the pool. I sat next to her in one of the lounge chairs open.
"Megan, I owe you the biggest apology that anyone has seen."
She had tears falling from her eyes when she looked at me. "No, I am the one who owes you an apology. All you did was try to befriend me, but I pushed you away. I should have always listened to my family. But, I didn't. Because of bad judgment, I lost my family for a few months. It hurt so much, seeing everyone, happy and smiling without me."
"Megan, Jennifer had all of us fooled. You had no idea of her intentions. Neither did Graeme."
"But he is my brother, my flesh and blood. I should have listened to him. You may not know, but the last time you and Graeme came to Cali, I snuck in the yard and watched everyone have a great time without me. I'm sorry. I really am. I saw how much in love you two were. I saw it at that stupid party at Jackson's house. I thought it was really sweet how you proposed to him. Stupid of me to toss my family away."
I slid my chair over so I could give her a hug. "I'm sorry too, Megan. You're right. I love him so much. I can't see myself with Graeme. He completes me. Megan, I still want us to be friends. We need to leave what happened in the past."
"You still want to be friends with me?"
"Yes, I do. We are going to be family. Besides, your brothers can't pick on you anymore. You'll have me and my sister, Janelle. And, I will be moving to California."
"Hey, I heard that, woman. I'll just pick on both of you," Graeme says as he came to join us.
Megan stood up and hugged Graeme really tight. "I'm sorry, Graeme."
I saw tears falling from his eyes.
"I'm sorry too, Megan." It broke his heart to distance himself from Megan. I snapped a picture.
"Hey, what was that for?" Graeme asked as they broke away from their embrace.
"I saw those tears, Graeme Harrison. I wanted it as proof. You missed your sister for the short time you both were separated. Now, you have your sister back. It's okay for men to cry."
"Yeah, bro. You were sniffling too."
"Megan and Janiyah Harrison, I certainly did not. I am happy to have my sister back. I do not cry. How about you delete that proof, or you will be dunked in that pool, Janiyah Harrison? Megan, you are going in that pool too."
"You wouldn't! I absolutely forbid you."
"That won't work here, ma'am." He kept a tight grip on Megan while backpedaling me towards the pool.
"I'm not playing with you, Mr. Harrison."
"Graeme, I don't have on a swimsuit!!" Megan says as she tries to wiggle out of his arms.
"Oh, I am playing with you, Mrs. Harrison and sweet sister of mine."
Oh no, here comes Hunter and Brett. "Family swim time I see."
"Hunter and Brett Harrison, Don't even think about it!!"
Graeme went in the pool with Megan.
I was cornered by both brothers. "Come on, Janiyah let's go for a swim." They both backpedaled me to the pool. It's no use. I just threw my hands in the air and backpedaled in the pool. Hunter and Brett jumped in too.
"Megan, Graeme and I have not set a date yet, so if you would like to, I would love to have you be a bridesmaid."
"I would love to. Thank you, Janiyah. I really do see why Graeme loves you like he does."
She swam over, and we hugged again.
"You're welcome. This is a new start, so let's start fresh. I'm Janiyah. It's nice to meet you, Megan."
"Hi, Janiyah. I'm Megan and it's nice to meet you too. And, welcome to the Harrison family." We shook each other's hands.
"This calls for a group hug." Graeme, Hunter, and Brett surrounded me and Megan, and we hugged it out.
"What in the world are you all doing in the pool?" Mama Harrison comes out of the house and says.
"Marsha, what does it look like? I think we should join them."
"Do it, dad. We are having a family swim." Graeme practically begged his father to throw his mama in the pool.
"Liam and Graeme Harrison, hush!!" Mama tried to run away. Sadly, she was unsuccessful. In the pool, they came.
"Thank you all so much for giving me a chance. I'm sorry for everything, and I hope you can forgive me," Megan says.
Papa Liam gave us a family speech.
"Listen, everyone, we all were fooled. We all need to forgive each other and love each other. We're a family. Family always sticks together. And, we all need to find a way to stick it to Jackson Pierce. I have had enough of him. We have a wedding to plan, and he needs to be gone."
"I asked Megan to be in the wedding, and she said yes. Now, our wedding is complete."
"What are you all doing in the pool?" Damion says as he came out laughing. Madison was laughing too.
"It's a family moment. You're family too, oh brother of mine and Maddie. Get them!!!!"
Graeme's POV
That really was fun last night. We needed that. And, we are going to have more fun bowling today. I rented out a whole bowling alley for us. Christy is coming too.
Now that my family is back together, I have an idea.
"Before we start bowling, now that the family is back together, Janiyah, I can't wait until this thing with Jackson is over. It could take forever. I want us to be married soon. We can plan a big reception later. We were planning to get married at the house in the Virgin Islands, so we don't have to tell anyone."
"Are you sure because I don't want to wait any longer either? I'm ready. I'll call my parents, Janelle and my friends. When are we getting married? We'll need to get a marriage license. I'll check later on what we need to do. It may be a waiting period."
"Let's plan it for May."
"May it is. Now, Mr. Harrison, prepare to get beat. It's girls against boys. You and I are bowling against each other."
"Oh, woman you are on."
*********************************
"So, Papito, how did you like that whopping?"
"I'll get you the next game."
"I have an interview tomorrow with another director. And, I'll come straight to the movie studio. Where are you filming, Graeme?" Christy asked.
I gave her the address. "You can ask for me at the gate after you give them your name."
"Okay. Thank you. You guys have a good evening. I'll see you tomorrow, Damion and Graeme." Damion walked with Christy to her car.
Once Damion came back, we bowled another game. And, sure enough, I won this one.
"Mrs. Harrison we are now even. How, about a tie-breaker?"
"And, what does the winner get?"
"Hmm, I'll think about what I want when I win."
"Nice try, Mr. Harrison. Let's get my victory game started."
The family moved a few lanes away from us. We both trash talk a whole lot. Janiyah and I are absolutely compatible with each other.
The game went back and forth. In the end, we.........
"Tied the game. Neither of us won. Guess we will have to wait next time I come to see you. I miss you already, and I haven't even left yet. I hope I can find office space tomorrow."
"I hope you can too. Let me pay for the bowling, and then we can go out to dinner."
Narrator's POV
After dinner, Graeme and Janiyah worked on filling out the application for their marriage license. Janiyah then would have it sent overnight to the Virgin Islands. They set a date of May 18th for the ceremony.
Janiyah toured several locations the following day. She found one she really liked and negotiated with the owner for the office space. They agreed to a contract, and Janiyah signed a lease.
Maddie and Janiyah made their way back to Graeme's house to order furniture and supplies for three floors of brand new office space.
They then started packing for their trip home on Tuesday.
Janiyah's POV
"Sorry, we are late. Rehearsals ran a bit over. And, Christy said that her interview went the same way as the first one. But this time, Jackson was going to lie about the director sexually assaulting women."
"Debbie said we had clearance ahead of schedule, so you guys are fine. He is just disgusting. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I need to get on the plane now. Goodbye, Damion and Graeme."
"Not after I get my kiss." Graeme grabbed my hands to pull me into his chest. Then, he actually sat me on the front of his Range Rover.
"Next time I lift you up like this, we are going to........"
"Graeme, please spare me the details. That's my sister remember?"
"Damion, hush. I love you, Papito. Tongue me, baby."
"I'm getting in the truck. Thank goodness for tinted windows." Damion then sat inside as Graeme shoved his tongue in my mouth. After we were finished, he helped me off the Range Rover.
I then made my way up the stairs, turned around and blew him a kiss.
Graeme then got in the Rover and pulled away.
I took my seat, the plane door was closed, Debbie started the plane, and away we go.
