ACG - Chapter 1

Janiyah kept to her usual Saturday routine - sleep until noon, eat brunch, workout, take a shower and then watch television. Well, that was until she heard a knock on her door.

"Who is knocking on my door on my peaceful Saturday afternoon?" Janiyah questioned and screamed as she walked over to the front door. When she opened it, Janelle, Amira, and Danielle entered.

With hands on her hips, Janiyah asked, "Why are you ladies here? Come on in."

"Well hello to you too, sis. We heard you have a hot date tonight with Dylan. So you, my, sweet and kind sister are going shopping with us." Janelle retorted back to Janiyah.

"Ladies, now why would I go shopping when I still have outfits here that I have not worn yet?" Janiyah shot back.

"Because best friend, you said yourself you have wanted this guy to ask you out and he finally did. So, grab your phone, bag and car keys. Let's get moving, girly." Danielle snapped and Amira agreed.

Janiyah sighed, "Okay. Give me a few minutes and I'll drive us to the mall."

After about five minutes, Janiyah locked up her house and the girls traveled to the mall.

"Cut!!!!" The director of the movie screamed. Everyone seemed to notice that Graeme was not focused. Damion could not contain his laughter because he knew exactly why.

"Graeme, snap out of it. You are one, sad movie actor at the moment. Like Usher says in his song, 'You got it bad.' Listen, I am going to help you win Janiyah over. But, for now, let's concentrate on this scene so we can move on to the next one." Damion said to Graeme.

"Thanks, Damion. I have never met someone like your sister, man. She is very intriguing, and might I add sexy." Graeme said while blushing.

Damion could not contain his laughter. "Now you're blushing? How about you come over my house tomorrow? I'll invite my family to dinner."

"It's not that funny, Damion." Graeme narrowed his eyes.

"Graeme, it is that funny. Bring a bottle or two of red wine. It is Janiyah's favorite. And, her favorite flowers are gardenias and peach, red and white roses. I'll write it down, so you won't forget." Damion went to find a piece of paper to write down what Graeme was to bring. "Now, Graeme concentrate on the task at hand, so we can wrap it up for today."

"Okay. Thanks, man." Graeme took a few deep breaths, then proclaimed himself ready for rehearsing.

"Action!!" The director screamed, and rehearsal was back on.

Later in the afternoon, Janiyah and the ladies made their way back to her house with the perfect outfit for her to wear. The ladies then left, so that Janiyah could get ready for her date.

After checking herself out in the mirror, Janiyah admitted to herself, "This dress is fabulous. Glad my girls suggested that I buy it."

While going down the stairs, she heard her cellphone ringing from in the kitchen.

*******************************

Janiyah: "Hello?"

Dylan: "Janiyah, this is Dylan. I am running late. Can you meet me at the restaurant?"

Janiyah: "Sure. I hope everything is okay. Talk to you later."

******************************

Janiyah grabs her Range Rover keys and leaves her house for the date.

************************

Janiyah arrived at the restaurant in 20 minutes. She had the valet park her Rover, then she made her way inside.

"Welcome to The Spiced View. What name is your reservation under?" The hostess asked Janiyah.

Janiyah answered, "The reservation is under the name of Dylan Taylor."

The hostess checked his list. But he had a confused look on his face. "Ma'am, we don't have a reservation with that name."

Janiyah was slightly irritated, not at the hostess but, at Dylan. She thought, "He is running late and doesn't have a reservation? Just great!"

20 minutes later, no Dylan. Now, she was irritated and wondered, "Where is Dylan?"

Janiyah declared, "If he doesn't show up in 5 minutes, I am leaving."

Just as she was about to leave, she saw a limo pull up to the restaurant.

She noticed it was people from the cast of the movie. Damion stepped out as well.

"Please don't let Mr. Harrison step out too." Janiyah sighed at that moment.

Then, she groaned when Graeme saw her. But he did the opposite - blushed like crazy. He couldn't stop staring at how beautiful she looked in her dress. To Graeme, Janiyah looked like a goddess in her dress.

"Hey Niyah, what brings you here?" Damion said to her.

In an irritated tone, she told him, "I had a date with this guy that I really liked. But, he told me he was running late, so I drove here. Then, he didn't even have a reservation, which pissed me off. And, I feel overdressed after observing what the consumers inside had on."

Graeme felt a twinge of jealousy hearing Janiyah had a date with another man - one that she liked. He was even more pissed that she had been waiting.

"Why don't you come sit with us? We reserved one of the rooms here and there is plenty of space for you to join us. I can even introduce you to the cast that came."

While Janiyah thought about it, Graeme was inwardly hoping she would. "Please let her come. Oh please let her come." The thoughts of him and her, engaged in a long night of passionate love making popped in his mind again.

Janiyah answered, "Sure, I'll join you. Thanks, Damion."

"You're welcome, sis. You always looked out for me and Janelle. So, I wanted to do the same."

"YES!!!" Graeme inwardly screamed as they walked inside. Once again Graeme found himself 'happy' watching Janiyah's perfectly shaped 'asset' in her form, fitted dress. Graeme wanted Janiyah bad.

**************************

After ordering her food and drink, Janiyah excused herself to go to the bathroom.

On her way back to the reserved room, she saw that Dylan had entered the restaurant. She was not happy because it was almost 9:00 pm.

Janiyah went to confront Dylan. She grabbed his arm and dragged him outside. "You know my first impression of you is not great. You tell me you are going to be late, so I drove to the restaurant. But, that was not my problem. My problem is you not having a reservation and now seeing that you are finally getting here!! I was really excited for this date. Thankfully, my brother came and let me join his group to eat dinner! Why did you have me come here knowing you didn't have a reservation?!" Janiyah was obviously not pleased with Dylan and he appeared nervous suddenly.

"I'm sorry. I really am. I could have sworn I made that reservation last week." Dylan pleaded with Janiyah.

"There is no way you could have made it last week because you have to make a reservation at least two months in advance to eat at this place!!! That is what the hostess mentioned to me. And, even if you did, you would have been put on a waiting list. And, the restaurant may be upscale, but people are dressed business casual in there. I am obviously overdressed." Janiyah glared while fussing.

Graeme stood at the door entrance, hidden from their view, laughing at how nervous Dylan appeared as Janiyah went off on him. He observed how Janiyah is no joke and she needs to be taken seriously.

As Janiyah turned her heels to come back inside, Graeme heard Dylan beg, "Please give me another chance! I'm sorry it took so long to ask you out for a date and it is ruined. I really like you, a lot."

Graeme crossed his fingers, hoping Janiyah would not give him another chance. Sadly for Graeme, she did.

"Dylan, a lot of times, I hear that men are too intimidated by me to ask me out. Is that fair? No, it's not fair at all. I really like you too and couldn't wait for you to ask me out. I don't bite." Then, Graeme heard Janiyah say to Dylan, "Of course, I will give you another chance. How about I pick the place next time? And, how about the same time next Saturday?"

Dylan agreed. "Okay. And, I really am sorry about tonight."

"Goodnight, Dylan." She gave him a kiss on his cheek, then walked back inside.

Graeme had to play it off when Janiyah entered the restaurant and saw him. "What are you looking at, Mr. Harrison? Did you follow me?"

He noticed how she was still irritated, so he answered her cautiously. "No, I didn't follow you. I was on my way back to the reserved room and saw you outside talking and wondered if you were okay." Deep down Graeme knew she was okay. He also recognized that Dylan was competition for Janiyah's affections. But he also observed that Dylan was nervous, so he may not be competition at all.

Still irritated, Janiyah replied, "Well, as you can see I am fine. I certainly don't need your help, Mr. Harrison." She then brushed passed Graeme and made her way back to the reserved room.

Graeme got himself another amazing view of Janiyah from the back. He started moaning, not realizing that the hostess and some of the patrons heard him.

************************************************

For the next few hours, Janiyah was introduced to the cast members that came to dinner. One of the female cast members made it obvious that she did not like Janiyah.

Janiyah didn't know why and did not care. She had a good time with Damion's friends and thoroughly enjoyed herself.

The female lead of the movie, Carrie, has the hots for Graeme. But, she was irritated because Graeme paid more attention to Janiyah than her.

So, she tried to be smart. "I thought this was a cast only party?" Carrie stupidly stated.

Everybody turned their heads to look at Carrie like she lost her mind. Janiyah started laughing. Then replied, "Be careful honey who you cross. I could buy the production company and make your movie career a nightmare. Don't test me."

"Who are you anyway? You aren't nobody important." Carrie continues spewing her stupidity.

Janiyah laughs again. Damion, Graeme and the others sighed. "Carrie, shut up before your mouth gets you in trouble." Graeme implored her to zip it.

She stood up and walked towards Janiyah. Stupid move on her part. "Like I said, who do you think you are?!"

Janiyah had enough of Carrie. So she stood up in her four inch heels, towering over Carrie.

"Honey, I don't just have a pretty face. First, I am Damion's older sister, Janiyah Frazier. I own the most successful accounting firm in the country. My company has been number one for years, unlike whatever movie you have been in. I should be asking who you are! I have NEVER seen you in any movie before. I don't go out looking for clients. Clients come to me. So, like I said, I could buy Lighttainment Productions and your movie career would go kaput. So, take your narrow behind back to your seat and get out of my face!"

Damion and Graeme started clearing their throats before telling Carrie, "You were warned. Janiyah is not one to play with."

"Well, it was nice meeting everyone and thank you all for letting me join you for dinner. I insist on paying for dinner. Damion, I will see you tomorrow for dinner. I'll even make your favorite dish. Goodnight everyone." Janiyah waved her hands to everyone, then walked out of the room. Graeme popped up out of his chair and followed her.

Janiyah gave the hostess her charge card and told him that she was paying for the movie casts' dinner tab. Then, she said goodnight. As she did, she saw Graeme through a mirror walking behind her.

She groaned and made her way outside. As soon as she was outside, she turned around, bumping into Graeme's chest.

"Why do you feel the need to follow me again, Mr. Harrison?" She questioned him.

"I'm not following you. I just wanted to make sure you would be safe getting to your Range Rover." Suddenly, Graeme went shy and spoke nervously.

Annoyed, Janiyah responded, "As you can see, Mr. Harrison, I am fine! Now, goodnight!"

She pressed her alarm button on her keys to open the door, but Graeme wouldn't let her get in.

"Listen, I just want to apologize for what happened at Starbucks. Sometimes I come off as a jerk, which I totally was to you. But once you get to know me, I am a good guy. My real life personality is nothing like my onscreen personality." Graeme professed.

"Who said I wanted to get to know you? Look Mr. Harrison, thank you for your concern. But, I don't need it. I need to see your off screen personality to believe it. And, I don't really have an interest to see it. Thank you for apologizing about the Starbucks incident. Now, can you move so I can go home?" Janiyah politely asked Graeme.

He moved, then Janiyah proceeded to get in her Rover. Then, she pulled off towards' her home.

Graeme stood there for a minute. "Well, at least she talked to me this time. It's a start." Then, Graeme joined the rest of the cast inside the restaurant.
