There was a knock on the door.

I turned towards my room's door. Mum sat up straighter as Beth entered the hospital room.

"Hey Bianca. I bought some chocolate," she said cautiously.

"Thanks."

Beth stood there awkwardly. I sighed and looked at Mum. She nodded slightly.

"Sit down, Beth. I'm not going to attack you. Well, I'm not sure if I can. I'm pretty injured, as you can tell." I gestured to my right leg that was in a cast, and my head that had a bandage wrapped around it.

She took a seat next to Mum, but still didn't say anything.

"I doubt you came here for nothing, what do you want to say to Bianca?" Mum asked.

Beth shook her head and looked down.

"I'm sorry, I really am. I don't know how to prove it to you, but I really do miss you. All of this that happened to you, I feel so guilty for it," Beth spoke softly, her voice shaking.

I smiled a little.

"It's okay, Beth. I'm fine. The accident was my fault."

"You don't get it, Bianca. We were going to hurt you. We were going to make you feel miserable on purpose. You can't just forgive me that easily."

"Would you like me to ask you to get out, then?" I raised one eyebrow. Beth remained silent.

"But.. you're not mad at me anymore?" she spoke softly.

"Yeah, I'm mad. But I'm not unreasonable. If you're really sorry, then I don't see a reason why I shouldn't give you a second chance."

Beth nodded. She got out of her seat and made her way to my bed.

She hugged me fiercely, careful not to put pressure on my injuries. I patted her back lightly.

"Now that you two are friends again. We need to discuss something. Bianca, do you still want to go back to school?" Mum looked at me.

I jumped slightly, forgetting Mum was there.
Beth looked at me curiously.

"Well, yeah. I'm going school again. But only when I'm fully recovered. Which means, after I can walk again."

Mum nodded her head in understanding.

"That'll take three months, the doctor already told me," she said.

"That's fine. I'm not in a rush to see Charlotte's face again," I chuckled.

"I can visit you every night, maybe go through some homework with you?" Beth offered.

"As sweet as it is, do you really need to bring homework here?" I groaned.

"That's a great idea, Beth. You two can study together so that Bianca can catch up with work. Thank you," Mum smiled.

Beth waved at me.

"I gotta go, but I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" She hugged me once again.

I waved back.

"See you."
