Vin's pov

I was on my guard duty when Alice came running to me, huffing and puffing. ''Alice? What's the matter with you?''I said looking at her still panting. ''I.......there........i....s.....another...........*pant*....death.......in........the......w-woods''she finished with a huff. ''What? Another? I-Is it from our v-village?!''I asked getting worried because there has been like more than ten deaths now. Day after day. ''Sadly yes, a family, they went into the woods because their son wanted to............and he's the only one who survived unhurt, his parents are gone'' she said looking down to the grass.

''Who could do something like this?'' I said anger rising in my body. ''Thats what we're still deciding, there has been rumors that........a person is doing this and that person will kill anyone who enters the forest, and doesn't spare anyone'' ''but they spared the little boy, why?'' I said trying to control myself. ''We..still don't know, I've talked with The Lord and she thinks it's best to question the boy'' ''I'll come too'' She nodded and rushed off with me following her.

We arrived at the house the boy was in. There were a couple of people too. Poppy gave us a warm smile but she seemed nervous. Ross and Chris were there too. And The Lord. The boy was on the bed, he looked weak and scared. Xenia(The Lord) spoke softly to him''hello little one, could you tell us your name?'' The boy stared at us for a while and spoke in a tiny voice ''I'm Benny and my mother tells me not to talk to strangers................and she's gone''he said and broke in tears. Xenia patted him on the head and hugged him whispering softly. ''Now, Benny can you tell us what happened to your momma and daddy?'' Poppy said. Benny sniffed and wiped his tears with the back of his hand.

"I can't remember everything but there was one think I can't forget'' "what is that sweetie?''Xenia asked. ''Red glowing eyes, they were full of sin and evil.........''Benny trailed off unable to speak anymore because he was sobbing into Xenia's shirt now. ''There there, don't worry little one, we got you now, your safe with us" she said comforting him. "I think this is enough for now''Alice said turning to leave. I nodded and went back to my duty. Red glowing eyes huh? Wait, I saw the same back then.....could it be the same person? Why didn't that person kill us back then? Ugh this case is so confusing. I glanced into the dark woods and I could swear, that for a split second, I saw a shadow of a person.
