Chapter 8: The Hospital
I was curious to know what Jimin has got to say to Namjoon.
After hearing only god knows what, Namjoon hung up the phone, and gripped my wrist. "You're not going home," He said, forcing me to run with him. "Hoseok is in the hospital."
We took a taxi in order to arrive at the hospital sooner.
We were looking everywhere, hoping to -at least- find one of the boys, but we found them all, down the hallway.
We ran towards them, then I rushed towards Hoseok's mother, and hugged her. "W-what happened?"
"He w-was trying t-to commit a s-suicide." She replied, leaning her head on my shoulder.
After a moment, she came out of my hug.
I walked towards Namjoon who was standing beside Seokjin. "Why would he try to commit a suicide?" Namjoon whispered in my ear.
Suddenly, Seokjin pushed me to the wall, grabbed my neck, and tried to choke me as it was getting harder for me to breathe. "It's all your fault, you promised me, remember?"
Namjoon pushed Seokjin away, and slapped him, pointing his finger at him as a threat. "If you ever touch her, I'll rip your head off."
"Well, well, here comes the hero! This is where it finally gets interesting." Seokjin said, turning at my face, smirking.
"THIS IS A HOSPITAL! For fuck's sake, Would you please stop?" Taehyung asked, looking at both of them with anger.
My neck hurt, badly. Namjoon held my hands. "Are you okay?"
Seokjin was looking at us, mumbling something, but I couldn't hear what he was saying. For a moment, I was scared of him.
"It doesn't matter if I'm alright or not," I replied, letting a breath out. "I just wanna know how Hoseok is."
A doctor walked towards Hoseok's parents, putting his hands in his pockets. "Are you Jung Hoseok's parents?"
His parents nodded.
I ran towards the doctor. "How is Hoseok?!"
"He's fine, but he needs to rest, so we're gonna keep him here tonight, because he must be under our protection," He replied, switching his glance at me. "You must be his dream girl."
"Excuse me, what?" Namjoon asked the doctor, awkwardly, placing his hand on my waist.
"He's been talking about you 24/7. You can see him in 5 minutes." The doctor said, and without paying any attention to Namjoon, he left.
I turned at Namjoon. "Is something wrong?"
"What do you think? You think everything's fine?" He asked, rolling his eyes.
Yoongi walked towards us, crossing his arms. "Were you two together, tonight?"
I was about to answer him, but Namjoon did it first. "Why do you care? You never care about anything, so what makes you care about us, now?"
Yoongi shook his head, heading to leave the hospital, but Jungkook ran after him, and gripped his arm, trying to convince him to come back.
"Now that Hoseok is in the hospital, he cares about everything!" Namjoon said, taunting Yoongi. "Everything and everyone."
"Calm down! You're not here to make it worse," Jimin placed his hand on Namjoon's shoulder, causing Namjoon and I to turn at him. "I don't know how you and Y/N got here together, either."
"Hoseok cares about her more than he cares about anything," Jin said, walking towards us slowly, only looking at Jimin's eyes, not paying any attention to Namjoon nor me. "Haven't you seen that, Jimin?"
I took a deep breath. "I'm going in."
Namjoon was begging me with his eyes not to see Hoseok, but Hoseok was the one who actually needed me.
I headed towards his room, and I went inside, seeing him with his eyes closed -probably asleep- on a bed.
I sat on a chair which was beside his bed. His pale skin couldn't be ignored.
"You... came," He said as his eyes were still closed. "I can feel your presence." He continued, turning his face at me, trying to open his eyes, slowly.
"What have you done?"
"I'd told you that I couldn't stand this life without you," He replied, massaging his forehead with his thumb and index finger. "Haven't you thought about us being together?"
I remained quiet.
Now that I know how Namjoon really feels about me, it's hard for me to decide between him and Hoseok.
He was seeking for an answer which I was afraid the most.
I don't know what may happen if I ditch him, again. He's already tried to commit a suicide.
He raised his eyebrows, waiting for me to talk.
"I'd love to... I'd love t-to—"
"You'd love to what?" He asked, cutting me off.
"I'd love to... be with you." I replied, staring down at my shoes.
I lied. I just fucking lied. I lied to make sure that he wouldn't do anything stupid again. I lied to protect a friend; my best friend.
He smiled.
Something was shining in his eyes, but thinking about Namjoon, brought me back to the reality which I was afraid the most.
"I love you the most. You won't regret this. I promise," He said, spreading out his arms. "Come here."
I stood up, walking towards him, laying down beside him on the bed as he hugged me tightly in his arms.
I was about to cry, because I thought that I was betraying Namjoon's feelings, but I couldn't let Hoseok fall apart.
I had to pretend that it was true love, although it wasn't.
"How did you know that I'm in the hospital? Who called you? How did you get here? Did you come here alone?" He asked, attacking me with questions.
I can't tell you, Hoseok, because it's for your own safety, and to tell you something, our relationship has already been based on a fucking lie.
"Ugh! I'm a bit hungry." I lied, trying to get out of this situation, and as always, trying to change the conversation.
I didn't want Namjoon to see me laying in Hoseok's arms like this, so I quickly stood up. "I'm going to get something to eat. Don't you need anything?"
He shook his head, closing his eyes slowly, trying to go to sleep.
I walked towards the exit, and walked out of the room, then I saw Namjoon sitting on a chair, snoring with an open mouth.
"He definitely can't take you home." Seokjin said with his arms crossed as I turned at him.
"I'll take a taxi," I said, glancing at Namjoon. "I won't wake him up and crush his sweet dreams," I leaned forward, and whispered in his ear. "Thank you for making tonight special. I may not have you in real life, but you'll always remain in my heart."
I turned at Seokjin. "Take care of him."
"Which one do you mean, exactly?" He asked, taunting me.
I left the hospital without paying any attention to Seokjin.
Why does he act so cruel?
I took a taxi to arrive at my house.
I opened the door, and tip-toed walking towards my bedroom, but it was dark, so I reached out for the switch to turn the lights on.
Suddenly, I saw my parents, standing in front of me with their arms crossed.
"Uh-oh! Hello to you, too." I said, giving them a fake smile.
"Have you ever looked at the time?" Dad asked, frowning.
"But, mom dropped me at Namjoon's—" I stopped talking, covering my mouth with my hands.
"Who's that guy, huh?" Dad asked as my mouth was still covered, then he switched his glance at mom. "And you were the one who dropped our daughter at his house?"
"He's a very good friend to our daughter. That's just it!" Mom replied, trying to calm him down.
"Do you really expect me to believe your words? You've already lied about her being at her grandma's!"
Uh-oh! Guess I fucked everything up.
"I was going to grandma's, but Namjoon called me, telling me that he needs my help in math, so I changed my direction and headed towards Namjoon's," I said, pausing for a bit. "What would you do if your friend called you, telling you that he/she needs your help?"
"Hey!" Mom shouted at dad, poking him on the shoulder. "Don't pretend like I forgot that you went to Chaeyoung's house without even letting me know, while we were still dating back in high school!"
My mother always uses the past to rescue herself when my father isn't giving up on asking so many questions.
"I-I feel like I-I forgot to feed the dog." Dad said, mumbling.
"WE DON'T HAVE ANY DOGS!" Mom shouted, causing dad to jump.
"That's t-the point." Dad responded, running downstairs.
I couldn't stop laughing.
"See? That's how you take control of a man." She said, winking at me, then she walked downstairs.
I changed my clothes, and jumped on my bed, going under my blanket, but then I remembered something. "Oh no! I forgot to turn the lights off!"
