I coughed up a bunch of water. I was drowning! Help me!!! I thought, and tried to scream, but found I couldn't. I looked up towards the sky. Suddenly strong arms gripped my frail body.
"Try to swim, you big lump." The familiar voice was comforting, and the person behind it was even more so. I tried to paddle with my bound arms and legs, only creating a hassle. The ropes were cutting into my skin, and as I walked out of the lake, I tripped, sending slightly bloody streams towards the lake. My rescuer pulled out a knife and reached to my bonds.
"I never caught your name." She sliced neatly through my bonds and moved towards my feet.
"Oh, it's--" a piercing scream cut through my mind. I knew that voice. As soon as the last of the ropes were cut, I rushed towards the scream. I stopped Cassiopeia from running out into the open. Looking through the bushes provided a terrible sight. My best friend's, and possibly more, body lay unmoving on the ground. "Lily! Oh no, no no no no!" I ran to her side. Her dark red hair was curled around her face, and her always shining eyes were dull.
"I'll be fine, Sev. Just watch for the Dementors." For indeed two dementors came startlingly close.
"Expecto Patronum!" A beautiful doe burst out of the tip of my wand and chased the dementors away.
"Thanks, Sev." The weak words snapped me back to Lily. I ran back to her aid, and wrapped my cloak around her.
"Will she be alright?" Cassie's scared voice made me look at her.
"If we get her to Pomfrey. Come on, help me!" Together we lifted the cold body into the air. Lily had passed out, and her pulse was getting weaker. I looked one more at Cassie, and we were on our way.
