Severus Snape POV
"Come look! There's something in the Lake! Sev, do you see it?" Lily Evans pulled me down to the water's edge. Indeed, there was something floating in the water. I suddenly realized what it was.
"Probably a log or something. Whatever." Lily looked at me strangely. I dropped my books purposefully.
"I'm going to go inside now. See you later?" Lily smiled at me.
"See you! Bye, Lil." She waved over her shoulder as she climbed back up the bank. I whipped out my wand and spoke the one charm I had taught myself during the train ride just two days ago.
"Accio human." The figure sped towards me but stopped about ten feet from the shore. Really? I thought. What better time than now to get wet? Yippee. I sighed as I pulled off my cloak and jumped into the freezing water. I swam quickly to the cold, pale body and wrapped one arm around it. It took longer to get back, but I eventually made it and placed the barely alive body on the ground. It was a girl. Her hair was wet and her fist was clenched around a locket in the shape of a heart. The word always was etched into the gold, and when I opened it, there was a picture of a boy and his twin sister. It looked exactly like the two people I had met today, except I had known one for my entire life. The boy looked like James Potter, but with Lily's eyes, and the girl was the spitting image of Lily Evans, but with James's eyes. I snapped the locket closed and tried to wake the girl laying on the ground. After a few moments of trying, she shuddered and moved. A few deep breaths and her blue eyes opened. She looked around in confusion, until her eyes met me. And in that moment, I knew I was in trouble.
