He Proposed?!?!
Cassie POV
I sobbed again for the fourth time that day. All of my friends were going to die! I had received two more prophecies during that month, showing both Peter and Remus's deaths. I knew I could obviously tell them, so they could avoid their murders. Bellatrix had tried to talk to me, her crazy black hair flying everywhere, and I gritted my teeth and slapped her. As she walked away surprised, I thought that's for killing my boyfriend. And technically your cousin. And I'll do it again if I have to! Dumbledore walked beside me and put his arm around me.
"Excuse my butting in, but I couldn't help seeing you slap Miss Black. What was that for?"
"She killed him."
"Who? Another vision, perhaps?"
I nodded fervently.
"Sirius Black, her cousin. She kills him in front of James and Lily's children. The two of them. I think one of their names is Harry. I'm pretty sure, actually." A tear threatened to come out, and I did nothing to stop it. My cheeks were wet enough. Professor Dumbledore only nodded. My eyes trained on someone behind my headmaster. It was Severus, locked in conversation with Lily. Their voices carried over to where I was standing. Lily was speaking.
"--don't like your friends, Sev! Please, just leave me alone! I've gotta deal with Potter for a day...."
"What? Why do you have to deal with...James." He dragged the last word out with hate. I didn't blame him; after all it was James who was usually the first one to make sure that Sev was having the worst time of his life. James and Sirius both.
"I agreed for one date....so that you wouldn't be bullied." Severus's eyes widened, then shrank in anger.
"I don't need your help! I can deal with James on my own! Lils, listen! I love you, and I don't need a pity committee or anything like that...."
"You....love me?"
"Always, Lils." My brain spun so quickly this time into a vision that I couldn't stop it.
"After all this time, Severus?" I couldn't place the familiar voice, and unlike many of the other prophecies everything was pitch black, with red dots speckling the edges....it seemed as though someone was in pain, contorting my senses. At least two of them. Finally I saw something of importance. A bright Patronus stepped in front of me. It was Lily's Patronus, but something was different. I could feel it. I closed my eyes as one word was spoken from Sev.
"Always."
I jerked awake, now laying on the ground panting like Sirius did in his animagi form. I looked into the pair of half moon specticals with a pair of amused eyes behind them.
"Get distracted?"
I blushed and nodded. Sirius came running towards me.
"I saw you collapse from Gryffindor tower! Is everything ok? Do I need--"
"You know, Mister Black, I've never seen you act so fast to someone....I'll have to let your teachers know!" He winked at the deep red boy in front of him. Sirius turned away uncomfortably.
"Your girlfriend here slapped your cousin, Miss Bellatrix. Quite honorable, if you ask me..." Sirius turned sharply.
"You did what to my cousin? To my cousin, Bella?" His voice was menacing, but after dating him for a couple of years you could tell that there was a softness there too.
"I slapped her, Sirius, for reasons you couldn't understand." Sirius was shocked.
"Congrats then! I never liked Bellatrix anyway!" He let out a hearty laugh and kissed me.
"Hey, when we're older....do you, I mean, will you marry me?"
"Of course, Sirius. I'd love to."
