I wonder sometimes, if life can get better than it already has. If I have reached the best point of my life. I have a best friend, a huge house, a great family, everyone likes me. So how can life possibly get any better. I'm not sure but I can tell you how it gets worse. Starting with the first day of grade nine.

"We're here. We're finally here!" screams Laura. "
"Lor" I say. "You might want to lower your voice. We're in high school now and we have to be mature."
"Oh lighten up Rowan" she says. "Just because we're getting older doesn't mean we have to be boring sticks in the mud."
"Then what do we be? Exciting sticks in the mud?" I joke. "Besides you know that's not what I meant."
"Can all grade nine students please make their way to the auditorium?" says a teacher with blonde hair and dull green eyes.
So, we make our way to the auditorium which is huge and took our seats.
"I hope we have a lot of the same classes" I say as my hands get sweaty.
"I do too" says Lor.
I look over to her. She looks nervous and I can't tell scared because she's seating on her hands which signals thats she fearing.
I touch her shoulder. "No matter what, I'm always here for you and we'll always be best friends."
She smiles and takes her red hands from under her thighs.
"Of course" she says "together forever."
"Attention all students!" says a voice from the front of the auditorium. "Welcome all of you. Today you'll be starting perhaps your greatest and hardest adventure of your life so far. You must follow the rules and try your hardest in order to go through high school smoothly. If you don't these are going to be the start of the end for you." there's dead silence for a while. "Haha, just joking! know that if you guys ever need anything you can come to a teacher. So I'm going to start calling you all one by one to get your schedules for this semester. First up, Deena Aaron. "
One by one students are called alphabetically. I don't realize I'm squeezing Lor's arms until her name is called.
She looks at me before leaving and slowly heads down to the front. The teacher has to pry open her hand and place the paper into her grasp due to Lor being so scared that she can't even speak. She slowly makes her way up and my name is called next.
I get up with no hesitation and speed walk to the front giving the teacher a kind smile as I jerk the paper from her hand and run up to Lor.
"What classes do you have this semester?" I ask.
"Math, Science, Gym, and drama."
I look down to my own sheet. "I have Math, art, economics, and gym." I nervously snatch the paper out of her hands and see that the only class we have together is gym."
"What classes do we have together?" she asks me.
I sigh. "More like class and its gym only."
Her brows furrow. "At least we have one class together."
"Yeah, who's you're home room teacher guys" says Olivia a pretty blonde girl with brown eyes.
"I have Ms.Jenkins" replies Lor.
"I have Mr.Swarovski" I say reading my paper.
Olivia's eyes widen. "I have Ms.Jenkins too!" I can't help but frown. This is not a good start to the year. "Hey Laura we should head to class now."
"I guess so" she says. She looks at me while Olivia drags her away.
"Together for ever" i mutter under my breath. "Yeah right." I can't help feel a little mad. I'm losing my best friend aren't I?
I leave the auditorium, head upstairs, and walk in.
Staring at the desks I think thoroughly of where I should sit. I don't want to be noticed so I should sit at the back but wait no... I don't have the best eyesight. So the front. No, ill look like a geek and ill get picked on so I should sit in the second row. Yes, that's perfect.
So I do take my seat as the students file in. I don't know any of them. What do I do now?
A gorgeous teacher walks into the room. Cherry red lips, green eyes, and black hair. All eyes on her, especially the boys'.
"Good morning class" she says. "High school is where you'll spend the next four years of your life but it will be loads of fun. Why don't we get to know each other first."
"Hey girl" someone behind me says. "You got gum, I forgot to brush my teeth this morning."
I don't turn around afraid of what they're breath actually did smell like. I slip a piece from my backpack and offered it to the guy behind me.
"Thanks" he whispers.
Wait, who is this guy I just gave gum too. I don't know how he looks like, what his name is.
My curiosity gets the hold of me and I turn around. He is actually a she. A quite pretty 'she' too.
"Hey" she says. "I was wondering when you'd turn around."
"I guess I answered your question, how about you answer mine" I say smoothly. "What's your name? I'm Rowan."
"I like your name. Mine is Sam."
"Ladies" we hear and we turn our attention back to the front. Shoot! Caught taking during class on the first day!
"I said that I'm going to partner you up and do a little project together. Then you'll present them so not only your partner will know a bit about you but the entire class and me. I in fact have put Ms. Rowan Grand and Ms. Samantha Simons together."
I get a little bit nervous and excited. We were off to a good start but what if she gets bored of me, annoyed even.
This is when I notice a blonde girl with big blue eyes staring at me with disgust.
She stays like that until the end of class and then gets up and comes over to me slowly giving me enough time for my blood pressure to rise.

Okay hola. No I'm not Spanish...... Anyway! I love books and I've written so many before but this is my first time setting it out to the public eye! I'm nervous because I feel like this is like letting someone through my diary (though I do not have one) or giving them a piece of my soul (no horcruxes were used in the making of this book.) I'd really like feedback on how to improve my passion. If you like this book then great because chapter two is coming shortly. THANKS!
