Flare led the group along, self-electing herself as the temporary leader. From what she knew, Melemele was the most simple of the four islands. She also knew there was one main attraction: Mantine Surfing. 

"Anyone want to do some surfing?" she asked, facing the group. 

"Surfing?" Snowjoke asked. 

"Oh, I've heard of this," Ace piped up. "One of Alola's most notable attractions is being able to surf on the back of Mantine."

"Yes. We're looking for Big Wave Beach."

"You mean this?" Teku asked, pointing at a sign he was next to. It read, "Welcome to Big Wave Beach! Melemele's No. 1 Spot for Mantine Surfing!".

"Yes. Good job, Teku." Flare gave the Banette a smile. 

Big Wave Beach was... kind of bland. It wasn't what many of the guests expected. 

A Golduck waved as it spotted them. "Welcome! Over here!"

The group walked over. 

"I assume you're new here. Before you surf, there are a few rules."

Spalding immediately took out a notebook. 

"One: No moves allowed! Two: Do not go beyond the barriers. Three: Do not- whatcha doing there, boy?"

The Golduck stopped mid-sentence as Spalding flipped through the pages furiously. When he found no blank sheet, he let out a small groan and flopped onto the sand.

"Ignore it," Ibuki said, waving a hand in the Togekiss' direction. "You were saying?"

The Golduck shook his head. "Oh yes. Three: All possessions are to remain away whilst surfing. Follow these rules, and you're sure to have a fun ride! Now, how many are surfing?"

"We need a moment," Zap told the Golduck. She turned to the group. "Ok, who's surfing?"

"Me!" Prowler's hand shot up instantly. "I've always wanted to do this!"

Snowjoke shrugged. "I can try."

Teku let out a series of giggles.

"I'm assuming that's a yes. I'll go as well," Zap said. 

The picked members of the group approached the Golduck. He led them over to an instruction board. 

"Ok, first thing's first- mounting. While on flat water, gently stand up on the back of the Mantine. Don't push down on it while you do so; it'll get mad. Just stand up normally.

"Next: tricks. There's an assortment of tricks you can do to get points. You guys will start out with the simple ones- Huntail and Gorebyss Spirals. Just lean to the left for Huntail, right for Gorebyss. The Mantine will spin. Do it three times and the Mantine will do the move.

"Lastly, we have points. Here in Alola, Mantine surfing will grab you points. You can spend these points at the many huts we have on our beaches. Collect a lot, and you may get a rare item. Got it?"

The guests nodded, with Spalding once again writing this all down as it was said. 

"Alright. Pick a Mantine, and we can get started."

I'm halfway done with the next chapter. This was supposed to be longer but I had to cut it short.
