The attack wasn't what I had expected. Synth had at least fifty wolves with him, Thomas only had eight of his fighters with him. We were going to get slaughtered if I didn't do anything quick.

Suddenly I realised that only Synth and Vince were attacking the circle. But neither of them shifted. They called on the fighters one by one, cutting them down, challenging their manhood. One by one the fighters went in but got thrown around. Synth and Vince weren't killing them, just throwing them to the men surrounding us. Then they were put into silver chains to contain them.

It was down to Vince vs Shane and Thomas vs Synth. Cain held me close to him the whole time not wanting to let me go again. I was scared, I'm not going to lie but I couldn't help it.

I closed my eyes and cuddled into Cain's solid chest, deeply inhaling his wonderful scent to try and calm my self down. I couldn't bring my self to watch the fight.

"I will have my beautiful kitten back." Synth stated with confidence. Knowing what he wanted to do to me made me cringe at the thought. Cain tightened his arms protectively around my waist and let out a growl.

"Over my dead body." my brother sneered.

"That can be arranged pup." Vince challenged.

Then I could hear fighting. There was growling and snarling. I could hear the two shift into wolves and it sounded like a bloody massacre. I clung to Cain like my life deepened on it.

"It's ok my love. Just hide your head, you don't need to see this. I will keep you safe. I promise." Cain mind linked me.

"I don't want anyone getting hurt over me,  but I can't go back Cain. I just can't. He wants to take me away from you." I started crying at the thought of not having Cain in my life.

"It's ok beautiful. I promise we will make it through this." He kissed the top of my head.

I was brought out of our conversation by the snapping of bones. It didn't sound good. I turned my head to the sound of whimpering and I saw Vince had Shane by the throat.

"NOOOO! LET HIM GO!" I screamed at Vince fear in my voice. But it was to late, with a simple twist Vince broke Shane's neck. His lifeless body falling to the ground. His body shifted into his human form, like all wolves do when they die.

I was crying even harder now. I got out of Cain's arms and started running to my brothers lifeless body. I ran by Synth and he grabbed me.

"No kitten don't go over there. You don't want to see that. I'm sorry, I didn't want anyone hurt. I didn't want to hurt or upset you." he was actually sorry for my brother. He was being honest.

I couldn't speak, I couldn't move. My head started spinning. If it wasn't for Synth I would have fell to the ground.

"You son of a..." Thomas growled out, shifted and lunged at Vince. Thomas caught him by the neck and ripped out his throat. Killing him instantly.

Synth growled fiercely at Thomas. I  stepped away from Synth.

"ENOUGH!!" I yelled with my Luna voice. I finally had enough, not sure where the strength to speak came from though.  I had enough authority in my voice that the three Alphas and all of the men flinched at my power. All eyes were on me in an instant. So I continued, "No more death! I can't handle this." tears started to stream down my face. "I just lost my brother, I refuse to lose anyone else. Thomas you are my best friend and you have always been my brothers best friend, I wouldn't be able to live with my self if I lost you too. It's bad enough my baby niece and Savanna now have to live without Shane." I was getting really upset now. Sobbing harder, Cain and Synth both stepped towards me. "No don't move." I ordered them both, and they stop. "Cain I love you more then anything and we are meant to be together which is why I can't let this continue. Synth, if you promise not to kill anyone else I will go with you." I finished losing my confidence.

"Without a fight? No more trying to escape?" Synth questioned me.

"No." was my response.

"Deal. Men chain the remaining men up and put them in the cells, let's go kitten." he ordered.

"No don't do this beautiful. I need you." Cain mind linked me.

"If this is the only way you, Thomas and everyone else will survive then this is what I will do. Trust me, please." I begged.

I blocked him out after that. Synth was leading me back to the pack house with his arm around my waist. We both walked in silence for about five minutes.

We walked up the front steps and into the house. I expected to go straight up stairs to his room but we didn't. He lead me into the kitchen. I looked at him confused.

"You haven't eaten since you have gotten here. I can just imagine how hungry you are." he started pulling out left overs and made me a plate. I didn't want to admit it but I was hungry.

He warmed up two plates and set one down in front of me, then sat down across from me. We ate in silence because well I'm not sure what there is to say to someone you despise.

We finish eating and he puts dishes into the sink, takes me by the hand and leads me up to the room. I looked at the alarm clock on the beside table and it read 3:38. That's it? It's only been less then five hours since I woke up.

I was exhausted emotionally and physically. My mind was running a mile a minute over what had happened, being kidnapped, finding my mate, being held captive by a psycho, losing my brother... my eyes started to tear up.  My brother is gone, my niece isn't going to know her daddy. What of Savannah? I know she is feeling the loss of her mate. How will she handle things?

Synth didn't say anything, he undressed me so I was just in my bra and panties. Stripped him self down to his boxers and laid me down on the bed. He crawled in and covered both of us with the blanket, then wrapped his arms around my waist. I snuggled closer to his warmth because I needed comfort and at that moment I didn't care who it was. I let his calming heart beat lull me to sleep.

I woke up to a soft knock on the door. Synth grumbled something I couldn't make out. I guess he feel asleep to.

"Come in." he said grogily.

"Alpha Voss, I'm sorry to bother you but there is a man requesting to speak with you. He is waiting in your office." the man had fear clearly written across his face.

"I will bee there shortly. You are dismissed." Synth responded with a bit of frustration in his voice.

The man bowed and left the room, closing the door behind him. Synth pulled me close to him just holding me close and breathing in my scent. I didn't move, I just let him do it. After watching my brother get killed I didn't want anyone else to get hurt so I lost my will to fight.

"I will be back as soon as I can. I will have someone bring our food up to the room after my meeting. You shower and change kitten, it might make you feel better." Synth kissed my forehead and walked over to the new dresser.

Wait new dresser, when did that get get here. I watched as Synth pulled out a bra, panties, a tank top and a pair of shorts. He set them on the bed smiling at me. I just stared at the clothes.

Synth got dressed and left. I was now alone. Without thinking I grabbed the clothes and went to shower. My mind kept flashing back to my brother in the clearing, and I cried. The water mixed in with my tears and I sat down hugging my knees to my chest and cried.

I don't know how many hours had passed but I was still in the shower crying when Synth came back from his meeting. The water was freezing cold and my teeth were chattering but I couldn't bring my self to move. I just cried more.
