My head hurt so bad. Wait no scratch that, my whole body hurts. It feels like I was rolled over by a big rig and trailer then thrown against a brick wall for good measure.

I tried moving my fingers when I heard whispering.

"She is going to wake up soon, get her some water. Now!" a familiar voice whisper yelled. At that I heard foot steps walking away and a door softly closing.

I opened my eyes a bit and tried focusing on the ceiling. Once my eyes could focus, I tried sitting up. Familiar hands helped me sit, and I turned my head to the person helping me.

I let out a breath I didn't realise I was holding in. It was my brother. "Bobo, what happened? Why do I feel like a pile of hammered poo?" my voice was raspy.

"Just relax sissy. You will get all the answers as soon as the pack doctor looks at your head and gives you the ok to move. I sent the nurse to get you a drink. Are you thirsty?" Shane was so concerned for me, I felt the warm feeling of love envelop my body.

As if on cue the nurse came back in with a glass of water and ice. She handed the glass to me and excused her self. I slowly sipped it, relishing the coldness and quenching of my dry and sore throat.

¤CRASH!¤¤ BANG!¤¤ SMASH!¤

Some one was yelling and fighting and it didn't sound very good at all. I could only hear bits and pieces of the screaming match. I could tell it was two men.

"I am an alpha..." one voice yelled with authority. It wasn't Thomas so I had no idea who it was.  "Don't touch me...... kill you!" he was angry, you could tell.

"Calm down... same team... even friends!" the other voice yelled back. I could tell it was Thomas. "Knox Cruze don't let go... safe!" and that was the last I heard through the door.

I looked at my brother with a confused expression. He just laughed and smiled at me. "You will know soon enough. But Kat,  you scared me half to death when you took off running. I know you needed space but still. You didn't need to run away." He sounded scared and even vulnerable.

"I... I.. I'm sorry." I choked out as I tried not to cry. "I just panicked Bobo. I wasn't thinking. Forgive me?" I looked up into my brothers eyes and noticed he was trying not to cry as well.

"Of course I forgive you, your my baby sister. Just promise me one thing." I looked at him waiting for him to continue, "don't run away like that ever again, please?" I smiled and hugged him.

"I promise big brother. I love you." I said as a traitorous tear runs down my cheek.

Pulling away and wiping my tear away with his thumb my brother smiles and says,  "I love you too sissy. I missed you."

Suddenly ruining our bonding moment a short man walked in. He had graying hair, a mustache and full out beard, he was wearing a white doctors coat and carrying a clipboard.

"I hope I'm not interrupting anything here." the man says with a smile. Knowing darn well what was going on.

"I'm glad you're awake Kat. You only have a minor concussion so you might feel a little dizzy if you try to move to much but other wise your fine. Take some Advil for the pain and if there is anything else just let me know." He smiled and bowed his head to Shane and left.

"Good. Let's get you ready then we will go talk to Thomas." That's all Shane said as he handed me some clothes and walked out,  closing the door behind him.

So I did what I was told. I got dressed, grabbed the pills the doctor left me, and went out to Shane. Knox and Cruze were waiting as well.

"Oh Kat I'm so glad your ok." Cruze said.

"Please forgive us, We were supposed to be your guards and protect you, and we failed you." Knox added looking at the floor. Guilt was evident on both their faces.

I gave them both a hug and smiled.  "Don't feel bad, its my own fault for being a dumb @ss and running away." I tried to reassure them. It must have worked because without another word they went back into protective mode.

Walking with Shane back to the pack house with Knox and Cruze close behind I had to smile knowing this was something I would have to get used to. I was trained to be my own body guard, but some how ended up being a damsel in distress.

Suddenly it clicked, the man from last night. The reason I fell and smacked my head. My mate. I stopped moving, feeling frozen to my spot.

Knox and Cruze were the only ones to notice. "Is everything ok Kat?" Knox asked concern in his voice.

"M.. m.. mate." was all I could stutter out. Shane caught this and smiled. He took my hand and led me up the step and into the pack house without saying anything.  We went straight to Alpha Thomas's office.

As we got to the door Shane knocked and didn't even wait for a response. The most delicious scent hit my nose as the door opened, vanilla and pine.  My wolf starts going crazy whining and fussing.

"MATE! WANT MATE! FIND MATE!" she screamed in my head.

"Wait Thomas isn't...."  I tried saying.

Two arms pull me into a rock hard chest and that smell intensifies. Cutting any previous thoughts short. I couldn't focus on anything but that smell.

"Mine!" the man growls, "Mate. My mate." He says.

I look up into the face of the man holding me to find the most beautiful orange eyes. I was a little taken back by how different it was to have orange eyes but who am I to judge, mine are purple.

"Cain, this is Kathryn my Betas sister. Kat, met Alpha Cain." Thomas did the introductions.

Neither me or Cain moved. We just stared at each other while he held me. I was getting lost in his eyes.I could tell he was the same way. My wolf was in pure bliss being in my mates arms like this.

"Ahem." Shane cleared his throat loudly. "We should all probably make our way to the dining hall. The rest of the pack has eaten so it will only be the six of us. Kat you need to take it easy and drink lots of water. Doctors order." He just had to remind me.

It took all of my will power but I looked away from Cain to realise that we were in Thomas's way. So I took Cain by the hand and we walked out following my brother without saying another word.

In the dining hall Savannah and Trisha were already waiting for us. Savannah had my baby niece with her this time. It just occurred to me that I haven't seen her yet. My it's been a crazy day and a half already. Been threatened by rogues, knocked out and I found my mate all within forty eight hours of being here.

"Aunty, I am pleased to give you Annabel, your niece." Savannah passes over Annabel over to me as I sit down.

My mate sits beside me just watching me hold me niece with a big grin on his face.

"She is beautiful." I was on cloud nine.  "Hi Annabel, I'm your aunty Kat." I cooed to the little girl in my arms. She reached out her little hand and took hold of my finger. My heart melted at that moment. I was hooked on my little niece and wrapped around her little finger.

"Looks like she likes her aunty." Cain says putting his arm around my shoulders, sending tingles through my body as he moves closer to me. "Cootchie coo little princess." He smiled while tickling Annabel's cheek.

She gave Cain a big smile and giggled at him while squeezing my finger. The moment didn't last long as I was brought out of my thoughts.

"Awwwww!" Savannah and Trisha said at the same time.

"You both look adorable sitting like that holding a baby. Almost natural." Trisha winks at us.

I could feel my face heat up in embarrassment. I mean don't get me wrong I want kids. But I just met my mate, We haven't even spent time together. Although I plan on getting to know him a bit after supper.

"One day." was all Cain said. He didn't even seem fazed by that hint or gesture or what ever you want to call it.

"I will take Annabel to my sister so we can eat our meal. Unless you want to keep holding her?" Savannah asked with a playful glint in her eyes.

I give her the 'not-any-time-soon' look and handed Annabel back after I gave her a kiss on her forehead.

After eating another amazing meal, and very little conversation the men excused them selves to do some pack business. Savannah went to put Annabel to bed, and Trisha felt exhausted from doing to much during the day.

I wasn't sure what to do so I went to my room. I looked hooked up my I pod and listened to some music. I listened to boys round here by Blake Shelton, boys from the south by pistol Annie's, and I could kick your ass by Justin Moore.

I got bored listening to music so I opened my door and found Knox and Cruze standing guard out side my door.

"Hey guys." I said smiling. "I'm bored and want to do something. What can I do alone without getting into trouble?" I added that last part referring to the rogues.

They exchanged glances and their eyes glazed over. I knew they were talking through the packs mind link.

Finally Cruze spoke. "Well you can go down to the media room and watch movies with some of the pack members, or we have an indoor pool and hot tub, you could go to the gym or we can escort you down to the game room." He said thinking of all the options.

I thought about it for a moment. Movies are out of the question because I'm sure my mate would get jealous if I was around other males. Especially if they are unmated. I don't feel like a work out, and my mind is to stressed to play any kind of games. Guess that leaves the pool.

"The pool it is. I need to clear my mind and relax." I said as I went back into my room to change into my swim suit. I threw on my blue and green bikini and put an over sized t shirt on top, grabbed a towel and walked out of my room.

"Kat, I don't think swimming would be the best for you after your concussion. The doctor told you too take it easy. Alpha Thomas wouldn't be happy if we let you over do it." Knox reminded me.

I just smiled knowing he was right. "Then I won't swim, I'll just go sit in the hot tub and let the bubbles do the relaxing for me." the twins just nod and lead the way to the pool.

I was glad I had them to help look after me. They both took their job serious which made me feel better.

As we got to the pool I noticed no one was there. I was actually kind if glad because I didn't want to deal with lots of people. I took off my shirt and hid a smirk creeping on my face. I could see Knox and Cruze both checking me out.

"You are both dismissed of you duties for now." a smooth sexy voice told the boys.

"But..." Knox tried to protest.

"It's ok boys, Alpha Cain just wants some time alone with his mate. You can wait out side of the pool until you are needed again." Shane told them and the three of them then left.

I turned around finally to see Cain taking off his shirt. My breath caught in my chest. He was perfection! His chest, his abs and that v going lower... Of my god! snap out of it Kat!

Mentally giving my self a slap for where my thoughts were going I turned around again my face was burning up. I was so embarrassed.

Cain sexy laugh echoed around the pool room, causing a shiver to rack through my body.

"Just imagine what kind of pleasure that our mate will give to us if your this turned on by his laugh." My wolf purred in my mind. "I would love to feel his lips on our nipples, putting wet kisses down our body, along our thighs and finally playing...."

"ENOUGH!" I yelled at my wolf.

Cain gets in the water and slowly sits beside me. Before I know it he lifts me up and spins me around so I'm straddling him.

"Much better." Cain chuckled. Oh god he would drive me crazy with that sexy smirk.

"Hi." was all I could manage to say. Really? I mentally face palmed my self. Feeling like an idiot I tried to save my self. But before I could say anything Cain kissed me. My body instantly reacted, I could feel the tingles course through my whole body.

I moaned into his lips which caused a low rumble to go through his chest. He liked that he was turning me on.

"Cain, I'm yours. Make me yours." I breathed out in between moans.

"Not here kitten." He pulled away from the kiss which caused me to whimper.

Instead of taking me in the hot tub, he picked me up by my thighs and continued kissing me as we walked out of the pool area. We were both unaware of putt surroundings as we walked through the hallway that neither of us knew that the rogues were back for me until it was to late.

I was ripped out of Cains arms and he was knocked to the floor. I let out a blood curtailing scream. All of a sudden a dirty rag was placed over my mouth and nose and I started to lose consciousness.

**** DUM DUM DAAAA! What's going to happen next? Do you think Cain could have marked her if they would have stayed in the hot tub?
