Prologue

Jumping from roof top to roof top I couldn't help but have the feeling of being watched. I crouch down where I am,  calming my breathing and releasing my wolf enough so I can see better in the dark. It took a minute for me to register, but there was a bird at the edge of the building. Now I feel silly. Laughing to my self for how paranoid I was being I stood up and went to jump onto the next building when BAM I was tackled to the ground.

"MINE" was growled out and that was all I heard while the darkness consumed me and just like that I blacked out.

Chapter One

Beautiful summer day, and here I was stuck on the bus. Mother nature has finally quit PMSing and is happy. That means the sun is shining, flowers are blooming, and love is in the air. Well for everyone else but me.

"Stopping in Mayberry for a 15 minute break." the bus driver announced over the loud speaker,  which borought me out of my thoughts.

"I can't wait to get there....." a guy not much older then me was talking to his friends as they all got off the bus. I could tell that they are wolves as well.

I got off the bus to stretch my legs and use the facilities, only because I refused to use the one on the bus. It is disgusting and stinks. After relieving my self and washing up I wandered around the gas station looking for things that I might want for the rest of my trip. I ended up with a bag of chips, bottle of water, and a crossword book.

Trudging back towards the bus I took a look over my shoulder and every one was staring at me whispering. Not sure why but it bothered me. But I got back on the bus any ways. I didn't feel comfortable until the bus continued towards my destination. I was almost at my brothers and I could not wait.

My brother Shane had met his mate last summer when he had come home for my birthday. He took Savannah back with him to the Moon Stone Pack where he is the Beta. Him and Savannah just had a baby, so I am on my way to visit my niece.

As the bus drove on I got bored listening to the silence so I put in my ear buds and cranked up some good old Blake Shelton, the boys round here. I love country music. It's so soothing, I think a bit to soothing because it didn't take long and I fell asleep.

I woke up to the bus slowing down and the driver announcing that we were now at my destination, the small town of Datson. I couldn't wait to be at the pack house. I knew one of the pack members would be waiting so I packed up my garbage and got off the bus.

I wasn't prepared for much since I was still trying to close my back pack, next thing I know some one grabs me and starts spinning me in circles. I drop my bag and squeal in surprise.

"Shaaane! Put me down!" I squealed while giggling. I knew it was my brother as soon as his arms went around me.

"Only if you stop screaming Kat! Your going to pop my dam ear drums!" He said while laughing. My brother hasn't changed and for that I was glad. "I missed you sissy." Shane said while hugging me.

"I missed you too my big brudder." I smiled and hugged him back.

Some one cleared their throat from behind us as Shane put my feet back on the ground. I turned around to see my brothers best friend and now alpha, Thomas. He was the one who always happy that my parents made him and my brother take me places with them. He always made sure to include me, make me feel wanted and he always waited for me when no one else would. I remember this one time Shane had met a girl and ended up ditching me at the park all by myself, I sat on the swings crying until Thomas had shown up and took me home. Boy mom and dad were beyond mad at Shane for leaving his five year old sister behind.

"Are you going to just stand there all afternoon staring at this perfection, or are you going to give me a hug?" Thomas asked while smiling smugly at me with his pearly whites. I rolled my eyes at his comment. He was hot but not perfection.

I didn't hesitate to run over and jump into his awaiting arms. Thomas was like a brother to me, and I was so sad when he met his mate and left the pack.

"I missed you to of course. How could I not?" I asked him smiling. "Just let me get my suitcase then we can get going." I smiled and walked away. Grabbing my bags,  I turned back and found Shane and Thomas waiting beside a big black hummer.
