CHAPTER 22

He's mine

I SAT on his lap and encircled my hands on his nape. He pulled me closer by waist. Napangiti ako. I miss the warmth of his body. I miss everything about him. It's been 6 months since he went back to Ukraine to do his last mission before he retired on being an Army.

"You missed me, wife? Hmm?" he whispered and kissed my expose shoulder.

I giggle, and showered him with soft kisses on his face. I stifle a moan when his other hand travelled between my legs. He cupped my feminity and the heat coming from his palm were inevitable. He caressed my sacred triangle and my body quickly response to it.

"R-Reeve. . ." My eyes suddenly blink in sensual way.

I miss his touch.  .  . I miss his scorching, sensual, pleasuring touches.

"Asking for permission to enter my wifey lines. Permission granted?"

I nodded deliriously. "Granted, Lieutenant-Colonel," I muttered, biting my bottom lips.

A smirk blossomed on his face as his fingers went to my underwear garter before pulling it down. I moaned when he swipe on my vaginal lips. Not a moment later— I felt his fingers inside mine, moving in and out. I held his hand and moan louder when he spread my legs wider, placing my legs on his sides, then, he inserted another finger inside, making it two.

"Ah! Shit!" I whimpered as I move my hips, meeting the thrust of his fingers.

"Hmm. . ." he hummed before nibbling my earlobe making me more aroused.

In that position, he took me— After 6 months, I let him invade my body again.

We already had our talk about his mission at pinilit ko siyang magkwento tungkol sa naging karanasan niya after we had our steamy encounter. Of course, I scolded him after I found out that asides from his suture, he almost got shot.

"Wife, let me help you with that—"

Umiling ako. "You already served your country, I wanna serve you, Reeve." I muttered, making him stunned. "Now, sit. Bukas kana lang kumilos,"

He doesn't have a choice but to sit in his chair and just watch me doing all the work. I was cooking tuna carbonara, my speciality. While waiting for the sauce to get cooked, I grab a wine from his wine collection and glass before placing it on the table.

"Malbec wine, huh?"

"Minsan lang naman," sagot ko at mabilis na binalikan ang aking niluluto.

About fifteen minutes, the pasta was already cooked, and ready to be served. I slid the plate on his direction, and put mine in front me.

I took off the apron and sat on my seat just right in front of him. I saw his eyes gleaming in adoration when he looked at me.

"Can I take a picture of this?"

I nodded and watch him took his phone out, and take a picture of the food I made. I felt my heart fluttering inside my chest. I bit my bottom lips, stifling a smile.

My eyes grew wider when a flash of light gleam in front of me. Reeve just took a picture of me!

"Hey! Don't take a picture of me!" I chastised.

"I won't, wife." He grinned playfully at me.

I scoffed, and look down at my phone. My forehead crease when I saw a notification from my Instagram. I immediately clicked to check it and an inaudible gasp slip out my mouth.

Reeve just posted a photo of me with a caption: "Dinner with my dessert". He even inserted a wink emoji!

I felt the heat ascended my cheeks and neck. I gritted my teeth and threw the table napkin on him, but he just laughed.

"Zuriel Reeve!" I hollered.

He bit his lips, stifling a playful remarks. "I love you, wife," he mouthed.

I slightly frowned, and look away. I felt my heart frenzy, so I abruptly sip on my wine to calm my heart.

AFTER we had our almost peacefully perfect dinner, we went to our veranda and had our dessert, red velvet cake.

"Aren't you cold? It's almost December, Reeve. Baka magkasakit ka niyan," I uttered.

I felt my body stiffen when he encircled his arms around my waist, hugging me from behind. I could feel his hot breath slicing my exposed skin.

"This can help me not to feel cold," he muttered, hugging me tighter.

I was looking at the moon and star that illuminated the peaceful dark sky. I smiled in contentment.

"Have you seen my tattoos?" he whispered.

I glanced at him. "I did," sagot ko.

"My new tattoos, I mean." he retorts.

I buffered for a second. "You have new tattoos?!" I exclaimed, removing myself from him. "Where? Which part of your body?" Tanong ko.

He showed me his right arm where his old tattoos were inked. My mouth fell open when I noticed a stethoscope on his arm. The long black tubing of the stethoscope was shaped like a heart, and the rest of the tubing was designed as a heart rhythm.

He also tattooed my name on the inside of the heart shape! It was a simple Kelsea. He also got three roman numerals on the same arms.

"I also have it here," My eyes darted on his ring finger. It was a small violet heart tattoo with the letter K inside.

My lips parted in astonishment as I felt my eyes immediately moistened.

I slowly raised my gaze at him. "Reeve.  .  ."

"It signifies 'I'll love you till the end of days,' since violet is the color at the end of the rainbow."

My heart went frenzied as I stared at him. I cupped his handsome face. He leans, resting his forehead on mine as he softly looks at me.

"Reeve.  .  ." I called his name.

"Hmm?"

"Thank you for everything. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for existing.  .  ." I muttered lovingly.

THE patient is having trouble breathing and also complaining about her throat. Then, while I am examining her, she suddenly has mild seizures, making me including the two intern with me startled.

"Handed me the laryngoscope," I commanded.

I carefully inserted the scope into the patient's mouth, aiming for her throat. I glanced at the monitor for a better view of her larynx and vocal cords.

"Tube," I command, stretching my hand a bit. The intern handed me the tube.

I carefully insert the tube on the laryngoscope. I pinched the ambu bag and looked at the monitor, examining the rhythm of her heart.

I took a sigh of relief when her heart beat came back normal. Thanks God!

"Doctora, we had the result of Mr. Mercado!"

I looked at the two resident who just came in. "What's the result of Mr. Mercado scans?"

I was pertaining about my other patient who hasn't been diagnosed yet. Dinala na siya sa ibang department, but still, they couldn't find the right diagnosis for him.

"His spinal scans were turned out fine, dra. Even his spinal fluids were normal. There's still no diagnosis about his condition."

"Then, bring him to the Neurology," nawawalan ng pag-asang sabi ko.

I went to the clinical laboratory after attending all my patients. I wanted to check my other patient's test result because I couldn't wait any longer, and I wanted to check it by myself. I can't let this day end without knowing the right diagnosis for him.

Pinapasok naman ako sa laboratory kaya dumiretso kaagad ako sa isang monitor at hinanap ang pangalan ng aking pasyente, then clicked it to see the result.

"Immunoglobulin. . . Antibody proteins—" My words left the air when I saw the bottom part of the result. "Fuck, positive!" I almost jumped in celebration when I prove that I was thinking right.

My patient doesn't need surgery. He only needs antiviral therapy which is better.

My patient has ZSH or zoster sine herpete, also known as shingles without rashes. His symptoms were unpredictable. He felt like his skin was being cut, burned, and the pain worsen when touching. He doesn't have rashes, reasoned why they almost diagnosed him with lymphoma.

IT WAS exactly lunch time when Reeve texted me that he's outside the hospital. He wanted to surprise me, but he ended up telling me he was here when I told him I forgot my lunch at home. Ngayon, sabay kaming kakain ng tanghalian.

Maybe we can eat in the cafeteria if he likes the food there. After I fixed myself, I made my way out of my office and marched towards our meeting place.

"Hi, Kelsea! I mean Dra. Kelsea!" I stopped midway when I saw Ashleigh waving at me. She was wearing a shorter coat compared to mine, and her hair was in a high ponytail.

"Hi, Dra. Ashleigh," I greeted her with a subtle smile.

"Saan ka maglulunch, dra?"

"I'm not sure," I said and shrugged. "I'm actually dining with someone," A smile peal on my lips when I imagine Reeve's face.

Her mouth formed an O. "Ah, I see! Boyfriend?" she teased.

I smiled at her question. "More than that," I answered.

Her mouth fell open.

"Doctor ba dito?"

Umiling ako. "No,"

"Oh? Pero maraming gwapo dito sa Areno, Dra. Katulad na lang ni Dr Dale!" she uttered, giggling.

I chuckled lightly, and nodded.

"Oh, speaking of guwapong lalaki, I think I am seeing one right now!"

My eyebrows knotted before I slowly turned my head in the direction she was looking at.

"That one. . ." I paused and looked at her. "Is already reserved," sabi ko at pabirong inirapan siya.

Her brows arched. "Reserved?! Is he the one you were talking about?"

I nodded. "Yes," I answered proudly.

Her face crumpled, but she quickly smiled. "Bawal magshare?!" he quips.

My face turned grim. "I can share food, clothes, and even money, but not my man," I said with finality.

"Damot mo naman, Dra! Parang hindi tayo friends," she retorts.

My eyes narrowed in irritation. "He's already mine, so just find your own and leave mine alone." I rebuke, trying not to sound annoyed.

Her mouth fell open. It wasn't a good joke to begin with, anyway.

"Dra. Kelsea—"

"Reeve!" I hurriedly approached him with a hug, not minding the other people.

They just don't know our real score. They thought we were just boyfriends and girlfriends, without knowing that we were already married.

He encircled his arms around my waist and quickly claimed my lips. "My wife misses me, huh? How's your day, wife?" he whispered.

A smile peal on my lips as I nodded. "My day wasn't bad. Anyway, I have someone to introduce you."

"Hmm? Who?" he asked in curiosity.

I turned to Ashleigh and caught her looking at Reeve. It looked like she knew him because of the intensity of her gaze on him.

"She's Ashleigh, a resident here and a friend of mine in college. His Reeve, my man. . ." I emphasize the last word, and I don't know why.

I caught Reeve smirking when he heard what I just called him. I guess, I should start calling him my man since he was really my man.

"Hi, Reeve! I'm Ashleigh. Nice to meet you!" She introduced herself with a wide smile.

My eyes narrowed when I noticed that she squeezed it slightly.

Reeve pulled out immediately and just nodded at her. "Okay," was his only answer before he turned at me.

I felt his arms encircled back on my waist. His eyes lingered on mine. All of his attention was on me, causing my heart to flutter.

"Let's eat, wife?" he softly whispered.

My eyes flew to Ashleigh, who was looking at us with a gloomy expression on her face. When our eyes met, she quickly gave me a wide smile, yet I noticed that her eyes were still grim.

"A-Aalis na ako, dra!" she muttered and quickly glanced over at the man beside me, whose attention was on me.

"Alright. See you around," I retort.

I don't really like how she acts around Reeve. I find it pathetic.

"Wife, do you have any alcohol?" he whispered.

I quickly glance at him. "Yes, Why?" I asked in confusion and curiosity.

"That woman touched my hand," he complained.

My mouth fell open.

"Give me your hands," utos ko.

He showed me his hands, so I sprayed alcohol in his palms. I bit the inside of my cheeks, suppressing a chuckle when he looked lighter after I sprayed his hands with alcohol.

"Merci, wife," he muttered with a smile.

I beamed. "Saan tayo kakain?!" I asked jauntily.

"I know a restaurant very close to the hospital,"

"Let's go there, then!" I muttered and clung my hand on his arm.

I bit my lips as I watched him.

He's doing crochet?!

I didn't know he could crochet. Watching him doing it like a pro makes me think that he's indeed perfect.

"Fuck!"

"W-Wife!" He startled. "What are you doing here? I didn't noticed—"

I interject. "You're too engrossed with what you're doing," I muttered and was about to look down to glimpse what he was doing when he suddenly held my waist and carried me like a sack of rice.

"Reeve!"  I squirmed. "Bitawan mo nga ako!" I complained.

"No." He shook his head. "You're not supposed to see it yet."

My mouth fell open. "What? What were you doing, anyway? Is it illegal?"

His lips rose in amusement. "No,"

"Then, why can't I see it? I know you were sewing something!"

He stood in front of me, and held my chin. He leans to kiss my forehead.

"Later, you'll know what am I doing. For now, take a shower."

Napanguso ako. "Ang daya naman." I crossed my arms over my chest. "Fine!"

He bit his lips, chuckling at my reaction. "You're so pretty. I love you," he muttered, then kissed me on the lips.

Then, I went inside the bathroom to take a shower.

His face softened instantly. Then, he immediately marched towards my direction and pulled me as he locked me with his arms.

"You mad?" he softly asked.

"Hindi," I muttered and pushed him gently.

He let out a low groan. I sauntered towards my vanity mirror and was about to sit down when I saw his reflection on my back.

My breathing hitched when I saw what he was holding. . . It was a bouquet of crochet sunflowers.

My heart went frenzy.

"I made this when I was still in Ukraine. . . Pero nagkaroon ng luslos iyong isa kaya inayos ko kanina. . ." He trailed off.

He sat on the side of the bed, at inikot ako paharap sa kaniya. My eyes were staple in the crochet he's holding. Hindi kaagad ako nakapagsalita dahil sa pagkabigla.

"You're allergic to flowers, so I made a crochet flowers for you. I'm sorry for sending you flowers before, wife. I admit, I didn't know you were allergic to pollen," his voice was so solemn and gentle.

"I-Is this what you were doing earlier?" I asked, still in awe. My eyes looked down at his hand. "Nasugatan ka pa," I softly muttered.

His eyes smiled. "It's worth it. If it will make you smile," his lips formed a soft grin.

"You made an effort! Of course, I'll smile!" I retort. "Thanks for this, Reeve. . . But how did you know I like sunflowers despite being allergic to flowers?"

"You glow differently whenever you see a sunflower."

"You even noticed that?!"

He bit his lips, nodding. "Of course. You're my wife."

Adoration sparked in his eyes, and my smile grew wider.

I cupped his face and planted a soft-quick kiss on his lips. "You're really the best husband!" I said with finality.

He encircled his arms around my waist before pulling me closer to him, and then, he let me straddle on his lap. He strokes my wet hair before cupping one of my cheeks.

"I am the best husband because you're my wife." he says while staring at me with full of love.
