|Prologue|

"Instead of seeing you again, I would rather choose death, Dalia," his ravaged deep voice drummed against her ear.

She convulsed her head, in desperate need to get those thoughts to shrink in the darkest nook of her head. Her lungs were melting in need of oxygen, her skin bristling in the wintry downpour but her hefty legs didn't halt. Dalia floundered upon the stairs, panting hard as she traipsed across the bridge, entering that part of town that wasn't meant for a girl like her.

Like she even cared.

"Please, let him be alright." She pleaded at the fluttering dusty cloud, finally ceasing in front of a paltry house.

The water droplets embellished her crazy mass of long inky eyelashes, rose dust sprinkled on her round cheeks and her roseate lips quivered in harsh weather. It did not surprise her since just an hour ago there was a weather forecast regarding thunderstorms.

It was as if nature was celebrating her devastation.

Dalia fisted her hands so hard at her knuckles almost burst open. She puffed in an icy breath, shuddering as she walk to the wooden door and slammed her fists like a psychopath.

"Open the door, I know you are in there!" She screamed, knowing well how he hated dragging attention and her little stunt would do that exact same.

"Ope-"

The wooden door swung open, revealing a tall man who incinerate her with his dragon eyes. His jaw clenched by her mere presence but Dalia didn't waver.

"I need to see him, right now. I know he is here. He was released just this morning," she spoke, but somehow her voice was a sheer whisper. "Namjoon, I really want to see him."

The elder boy scoffed, treading closer and looking dead into her eyes. Dalia guzzled in pure fear, not abandoning her ground cause she knew she deserved this antipathy.

"The only one that's stopping me from breaking you right now is him. Him dreaming about trash like you," Namjoon whispered in her ear and jolted his shoulder with hers while walking past the broken girl.

"Namjoon it's-" She quenched her words knowing it didn't matter now. What's done is done.

The door was left unfasted and Dalia attentively seized a step in the cushy house. The sudden warmth embraced her but the gloomy vapors smothered her, fogging her lucid thoughts as she sauntered in further. She was familiar with the house, so freaking familiar although now it ached to even take a step ahead knowing she wasn't worth being here.

"I know you are here. Why are you being a coward now? Show me your damn face," She uttered, the thick sheen of ice dredging her voice.

Her hands clutched the fabric of her drenched freezing dress and strolled by itching to scale the stairs to his room. But abruptly a dead grip grasped her arm, and before she could register anything, she was slammed on the wall, hard enough to daunt a gasp of pain.

Her eyes scrunch shut when she felt his tall frame towering over her. The familiar zeal oozing from his body and his heavenly scent always made her wonder if he was some celestial being. Her lips parted, shivering underneath him.

"You had a fucking audacity to show me your face." There was so much animosity in his deep voice, the voice she couldn't get out of her head, that kept roiling in her blood like a spicy wine.

She felt him squeezing into her, so close that she could feel the rage in his ragged breaths, the unsaid resentment in his tensed moves.

You deserve this. Look in his eyes and tell him that you won.

She simply didn't have the tenacity to look in his eyes. Park Dalia was the bravest soul residing in Seawoods high, but she was weak when it came to Kim Taehyung.

"Look at me," He growled, his silken tresses brushing against her forehead, as he stooped down.

She dwelled motionlessly, thinking how great it would be if she could undo their every moment, undo the day their burning hatred blossomed between them, undo the day when she thought that he was the most beautiful bastard she ever laid her eyes on, undo the magical beat when their eyes collided.

His freezing and callous fingers torturously trailed down her cheek then a harsh grip sealed her jaw when he plucked her face up to meet his eyes. "I said look at me, Dalia."

There was ever the dust of dominance gracing his voice, smoothly blending with his gruff and deep voice. There were no words to describe how much she disliked being ordered around. But the immense power this guy held on her was undefinable. Was there a moment when she ignored that voice?

Never.

Her eyelashes fluttered against her cheekbone and she unsealed her eyes.

Their eyes crashed right when a striking thunder blasted, tearing the sky open and ripping their souls apart.

"Taehyung." She wiggled like a dry leaf in the snowy breeze, eager to just fall and perish away.

"Don't. Don't even say it." Taehyung's grip compressed around her jaw, so rough and hard but she didn't look away. She stared into his venomous eyes, the drizzles of viper that were desperate to swallow her existence. Kim Taehyung possessed the most beautiful pair of eyes; greys like windy roads in sierras, mists of midnight fiddling with plants in deep cliffs, and an extraordinary smidgen of mysterious aqua.

As beautiful they were, they were still toxic. With the darkling sky fluttering in them.  He was like a cyclone of starlight, a star in some miraculous galaxy, a beautiful spell that had her hypnotized. The storm in his eyes swept her legs away and she was about to crumble but Taehyung pressed his body wholly onto her.

"We should talk," she uttered, eyes racing on his wilted lips, then the bruise on his cheek stalled at the dark circles dimming his eyes.

She realized that she completely shattered him.

When she shuffled, Taehyung slammed a punch into the wall right beside her head, yelling, "Shut the fuck up. Shut up. Your voice is killing me. Don't utter a word. J-just don't."

Dalia flinched at the intensity but didn't say a thing as Taehyung clamored to keep calm, to not lose his mind, to not kill her right there. His large hand wrapped around her throat, but he didn't compel any pressure, it was just a threat, a warning that how badly he wanted to end it. End her.

"How can you? Just how can you? What did I even do? I knew you hate me, b- but, Dalia..." He paused, his adam's apple wavering as his bloodshot eyes welled up. A glassy glaze stained his painful gaze. And that's when she broke, her own eyes charred with tears because it seared her heart to witness him crushing.

"Why? Just tell me, why? Where is the girl whom I held in my arms? Where is the girl who use my safe place? " He urged, but she looked away. Taehyung was completely pressed against her, his head dropped on her shoulder and he stayed there, like always. Dalia reached her hand to run through his hair, to scream, and hug him tight.

But Taehyung jerked his head, pressing his nose against her cheek, harshly nuzzling. His hot breath pricked over her damped skin.

His eyes again arrested her. "Are these the same eyes that I always looked in? How did these eyes get me fooled? How the fuck did you wreck my life with just a snap of your fingers?"

"What you mean why? I hate you. I hate your presence, everything related to you. I told you Taehyung, didn't I? That one day I will play you big and you will be speechless." Her plush pink lips curved in a smile and her eyes burned with tears that slowly crawled down her cheek. "Look, I won."

"You won. But you lost us." Taehyung stared into her eyes, wordlessly.

"There was no us, to begin with." She looked away.

His hand tightened around her throat as he leaned. The boisterous sound of thunderbolts and the low noise of the clock ticking in his house fused, slashing the tensed silence.

"Then let me tell you something." He rasped, glints of devilry dancing in his eyes. "I fucked you for a bet. I was gonna get cash for fucking you, Dalia."

A flash of red struck at the bad of her head as Dalia attempted to hold herself but she couldn't. He couldn't do that to her. She searched his eyes, but they gave nothing but rage, hate, disgust. He was enchanted by his anger, and she knew his temper well. It was cataclysmic.

"I did right. You deserve it, and so did she." And that's when she pulled his most sensitive string.

Taehyung gritted his teeth, shredding her piece by piece until he snaked his arm around her waist and smashed her into him.

"I hate you, Dalia. I hate with every nerve in my body." His torturous lips traced from her temples to down her cheek and Dalia screwed her eyes shut, wriggling in his rigid grip. "I hate you from the kindest and yet darkest part of mine. I would drain my last breath just to say how much I hate you."

With that, his lips roughly crashed on her, and she whimpered but didn't push him away because she knew it was the last time she was having him so close, the last time she was looking into his eyes, and the last time she was there in his arms. Their lips moved in a fierce tornado, the clash of fire and ice. His fingers firmly dug in her waist, letting her know that he wished to give her pain.

She didn't hold back either. She bit on his lip, hard enough to make him grunt in displeasure. Forcefully invading her mouth with his tongue, their tears mingled along with their blossoming hatred.

Pulling away, Taehyung touched their forehead but none of them dared to open their eyes to watch how much prejudice they bore for each other.

"You wanted a battle, but I will give you war. This is the declaration of war, Dalia. I will be the disaster in your life that will wreck you so bad, that you will regret the day you first looked in my eyes."
