Chapter 4
The next day
I woke early from my slumber, roused by the smell of cooking from the kitchen.
"Tina, breakfast's on the table!" Mum shouted.
"Coming." I yelled back. I pulled on my dressing gown and headed downstairs. The kitchen was lit dimly, but I could still make out faint shapes. I found my place at the kitchen table and sat down.
"Morning, dear." Mum said.
"Yeah, morning." I said, gloomily.
"What's up with you?" She asked, acknowledging my mood.
"Harry again." I moaned.
"What did he do this time?" She sighed.
"He won't leave me alone." I complained.
"He likes you, it's obvious. You should be revelling in the fact that there's a boy after you." She grinned.
"Na, I'd rather not." I huffed.
"Oh stop being so miserable." She chuckled.
"I'm going out, I won't be back too late." I said, standing up and walking to my room.
I waltzed into the bathroom and brushed my teeth, then I washed and changed into my comfortable clothes. I scrambled around in my bag for my car keys and headed out the door. I drove to Jayde's house, hoping desperately that she'd be awake.
I stopped the car outside of her house and jumped out. As soon as I knocked on the door, Jayde answered.
"Tina?" She said.
"Wow, Jayde. You're actually awake... It's early!" I exclaimed.
"Well, what can I say?" She laughed. "Anyway, what are you doing here?"
"I came by because I'm annoyed with my mum." I sighed.
"What did she do?" She laughed, understandingly.
"Harassing me about Harry." I said.
"Oh yeah! How did the date go then?" She asked.
"Mind if I come in?" I grinned, walking inside.
I explained our date in full detail, making sure not to miss anything out.
"Wow, he got a bit protective." She laughed.
"Just a bit." I chuckled.
"I'm going to take you out shopping today. I'll take your mind off of it." She smiled.
"Okay."
We walked around the town for a long time, window shopping. I found a beautiful dress, and Jayde paid for it.
"Thank you." I smiled, warmly.
"It's okay. I just want to cheer you up." She returned the grin.
I received many glares from the elder members of the community. They all stared at my neck in disgust. I wanted to turn around and yell out that it was involuntary, but I just couldn't.
"Just ignore them." Jayde said, squeezing my shoulder.
"Trying." I laughed.
"Tina!" I heard from behind me. I turned to look, recognising the voice.
"Harry." I muttered.
"Oh my God, Tina. What are you going to do?" Jayde asked.
"The only thing I can do. Pretend everything's normal." I replied.
"Hello, sweetheart." Harry said, placing his arm around me.
I elbowed him as he wrapped himself around me, trying to force him away.
"Hi, Jayde." He said.
"Harry." Jayde acknowledged.
He pressed his lips to mine in a gentler manner than before. It would be wrong of me to expect a change in him. I knew he was only being sweeter because we were in the public eye.
"You get a kick out of this, don't you?" I asked, annoyed.
"Out of what, love?" He smiled innocently.
"This! Showing up out of the blue and acting like we're a couple. I hardly know you, leave me alone." I yelled.
"Sweetie, you're causing a scene. People are staring." He grinned. I could see that he was trying to wind me up.
"Tina, leave it. He's not worth it." Jayde said, dragging me away from him.
"I'll see you later, angel." He shouted as we walked away.
"Jayde, what am I going to do?" I asked when we were in the safety of the car again.
"You could always get a restraining order against him." She said.
"Like that's gonna work. He's going to find a way around that." I replied.
"True. It's like there's no stopping him." She half giggled.
"Shut up." I said, laughing as well.
"Come on, let's get you home." She smiled.
We drove back to my house, and I invited her to stay over for the night. She dropped me off at mine, then drove back to her place to grab her things. I waited at home with my mum. I heard a knock at the door, and quickly skipped to open it, expecting Jayde.
I swung the door open and grinned, not bothering to look. I ran forwards to hug Jayde, feeling happy that she would give me a sense of security while we were alone tonight, as my mum was going out and leaving us home.
"Well this is unexpected." A masculine voice said. Not Jayde. Harry.
I pulled away quickly. "Oh, it's you." I moaned.
"What happened? You were so happy to see me a minute ago." He laughed cheekily.
"I didn't think it was you." I told him bluntly.
"That hug sure was special though." He chuckled.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Thought I'd come by and see if you'd calmed down from earlier." He replied.
"Well, I had until you arrived." I said.
"You're cute when you're mad."
"Just go, will you?"
"No."
Just then, my mum came out to meet us. "Oh, Harry. Lovely to see you again." She smiled, then shot a look at me.
"And you, Alexa." He said, shaking her hand.
"You remembered." She giggled.
"Of course I did." He laughed.
"Do come in." She said, beckoning him inside.
Harry walked on in to the kitchen, and I pulled my mum back. "What are you doing?" I hissed.
"I can't be rude and not invite him in." She explained.
"Ugh." I groaned, then followed them into the kitchen.
We were sat around the kitchen table for what seemed like an hour, when mum stood up. "Right, I'd best be off. I need to get to the hospital. I'll be back in the morning."
"What, no!" I exclaimed.
"Sorry, dear." She said, grabbing her coat and heading towards the door.
I chased after her. "You can't leave me alone with him."
"You'll be fine, he's lovely. Besides, Jayde will be here soon enough." She said, and with that she was gone.
"Brilliant." I muttered, slowly walking back to Harry.
"So, we're alone." He winked.
"Yup. Not for long, Jayde's coming round." I said.
"I'd say about another twenty minutes for her to pack up and drive here... You know what we can do, right?" He asked suggestively.
"No, Harry." I mumbled.
"I was going to say we could curl up on the sofa and start a film... Get your mind out of the gutter." He laughed.
"Sure, Harry. Of course you were." I said, giggling slightly.
"So what do you say?" He asked, thinking he'd won me over.
"I say... No." I said, not laughing anymore.
"Damn." He said. I turned my back on him and fiddled with whatever was on the kitchen counter.
"Why not, babe?" He whispered, suddenly too close for comfort. His hot breath tickled, causing me to blush.
"Maybe because I don't know you. Who even are you? And don't say 'Harry Styles', because that much I'd gathered. I know nothing about you." I said.
"You know that I'm nineteen." He grinned.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry I'm not supposed to date older men." I said sarcastically.
"That's a shame. I'm sure there could be an exception..." He chuckled.
"No." I bluntly replied.
"I know you want me." He said. Before I got a chance to reply, the doorbell rang. Jayde.
"Ah, saved by the bell." I grinned, walking towards the door. Harry ran behind me and grabbed me by the waist, pushing me to the wall.
"It doesn't matter. I still want you." He groaned, throatily, his voice thick with lust.
"Harry, get off me." I warned.
"Not yet." He breathed.
"I warned you. The door's unlocked, I can easily let Jayde know I need her." I told him.
"Fine." He said. I was preparing myself to scream when his soft lips crashed against mine.
I pushed him off of me, then screamed. Jayde pushed the door handle and came running in. Harry had already moved and was leaning against the opposing wall, innocently.
"What?" Jayde asked, not noticing Harry.
"Um..." I started, then Harry cleared his throat, making his presence known.
Jayde turned around to face him. "Oh, Harry." She muttered.
"Hi, Jayde." He said clearly.
"What are you doing here?" She asked,
"Visiting my girl." He replied, shooting a smile at me.
I glared at him. "I'm not your girl."
"Yes, you are." He said, hugging me tight.
"Aw." Jayde cooed. I gave her the look that told her 'I will get you back for this.'. "Sorry." She whispered.
"I'll be off." Harry stated.
"No, no. Don't go, I'd like to get to know you better, after all you are my best friends' boyfriend." She replied, winking at me.
"That's not necessary." I said.
"No, I think it's totally necessary, shall we go and sit down?" Harry grinned, knowing how much he was winding me up.
"Sure." I said, gritting my teeth.
We all sat down in the living room, Harry attempting to cuddle me in, me protesting against his grip. Jayde had successfully found out all that she wanted to know, then I decided it was time to go to bed.
"Harry, it's time to go." I said, shooing him towards the door.
"No, T. It's too late for him to go out in the dark like this, leave him to sleep on the sofa." Jayde argued, blocking the door.
I walked upstairs to my bedroom, not allowing myself to think about the scary boy on my sofa right now. I climbed into my bed and tried to sleep.
"Tina, are you asleep yet?" I heard Jayde ask when she stepped into my room.
"No." I replied, rolling over to face her.
"Good. I need to talk to you." She said.
"What about?" I asked.
"Harry. I only asked about him staying here so that I could have a word with him about you."
"Oh no, what did you say?"
"I told him to stop stalking you."
"What did he say?"
"He said that he doesn't class it as stalking, he just really likes you."
"He would say that, he has to act all innocent in front of you. It's an act, don't fall for it."
"Come on, you can't tell me that you have no feelings for him at all."
"I have no feelings at all towards him."
"Oh."
"Yeah. Goodnight, see you in the morning." I said, pressing the light switch and closing my eyes, dreading waking up to Harry in the morning.
