Running back was different this time. Causing me to turn my run into a walk. The place was empty? I saw a few people walking around here and there. But the fighting was gone. The people running were gone. The wolves were gone. What happened? We didn't take that long, did we? There is no way its over with already. That's to quick. Somethings wrong. Everything was just abandoned like a ghost town. Leaving the destroyed town and dead bodies as the only evidence. I quickly went back near where I found my little sister. Down the street was my parents house. Except there was no house. In fact there was no neighborhood. Everything was gone. Left in complete ruins. 

Oh no! Frantically searching the area. Kicking rubble to the side. Looking underneath anything that wasn't burnt to ashes. Nothing. No sign of them anywhere. I can't even smell them. Just burnt wood and blood. But not their blood. . .Panic starting to set in. Searching like a mad man. Looking over the places I already checked once. Hoping that maybe, just maybe I missed them the first time. But no matter how many times I looked. They weren't there. Not even their dead bodies.  I-if theirs no body I-I ca-can't-

'Sam'

 . . .'Samantha!' 

'What!' tears running down my face. 

'Stop panicking' 

BOOM! a loud sound was made, freezing me in place turning my head in the direction it came from. What was that?

'Lets head over there and see what's going on.'

'What about my parents'

'They're not here. We already searched the area. . . .For all we know their body burned in the fire. . . .I'm sorry. .'

'No, Your right. . .'  Wiping the tears off my face. Running, making my way to the commotion without a second thought. I could have sworn I heard it come from this direction. Looking back and forth between the few broken houses that were left. I then came to a turn. Bingo! Well now we know where some of the wolves went. A small group of warriors standing around in a huddle. Watching. What's going on? Where is my pack and why is the enemy just standing around? Pushing through the small crowd of soldiers that circled around to watch everything unfold. Sean was barely holding himself up as a huge wolf started to stalk towards him. Ready to finish his prey with the finishing blow. Right before he could pounce on my brothers wolf,  to finish him off. I jumped in front, shifting in mid air blocking his way. Keeping my eyes shut awaiting for the pain to engulf me. The wolf bit into my stomach slamming me into the wall right behind me. The feeling of sparks over came me soon followed by pain. BANG! cracking a few ribs in the process. The weird thing is though I heard a whimper that was just barely audible for a split second after I was slammed into the wall. Fudge, I can't just be taken down so easily he's going to kill your brother! If you can't help your parents, the least you can do is help your brother. Forcing myself to get up, staggering. Soon once again I blocked my brothers body. There has to be a way I can do something. Well I can't just kill him. I'm not strong enough he's their alpha for crying out loud.

As I hear a loud growl from the Alpha in front of me I finally gain the courage to look into his eyes hoping to deter him. To show him that intimidation doesn't work and that I'm not willing to give up. In the end though I was never ready, never would be or expect to what was to come next.

Mate

Feeling glued to the ground. As the bond between us suddenly felt like energy in my veins going back and forth between us. Trying to pull us together. It was like fire dancing between us encouraging us, urging us to be together. There are no words in the world that could possibly describe this moment. His Enormous Pitch black wolf was just beautiful and yet I knew at this moment that things would never be the same. I also knew that as much as I wanted him it would never be. Why, You may ask? Well for starters here I am standing between my mate and my brother. Standing to save his life, standing to save my pack . The pack he is trying to destroy.

No, No, No! what the hell is wrong with you he is trying to kill your brother and here you are thinking how attractive his wolf is. What the. Get your mind out of the gutter! Come on, earth to Sam do you even realize what is going on.

'but he is our mate' my wolf said in awe.

'Doesn't matter' I told her with a slight growl.

The Wolf across from me looked puzzled. Our eyes never leaving one another and after a while it was getting mighty uncomfortable but I refuse to be the first one to back down. I needed to hold my ground, if not he might think its okay to continue this shenanigans and I will not have it. He will not kill my brother and will no longer attack my pack. At that moment, I heard a crash behind me and he then looked away growling to himself as he started to walk away. My eyes widen in shock and then quickly I turn around to see what the sound was. Then I saw my brothers unconscious body on the ground.

'Sean!' I thought in a panic as I went beside him trying to shake his body awake with my muzzle.

'Sean! come on you can't do this to me!' Shifting and crouching next to him. Tears falling down my face . Its all his fault! I thought as I turned around to give the alpha a piece of my mind but I was to late. He was gone.

"Lets go." A gruff voice said besides me. One of his warriors towering above me.
