On October 4, 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six performed to a sold-out crowd at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. They were one of the biggest bands in the world at the time, fresh off their award-winning, multi-platinum selling album 'Aurora'.

It would be their final performance.

In the twenty years since, members of the band and their inner circle have refused to speak on the record about what happened...

Until now.

     MARILYN: I mean, what do I have to lose, right? Let's do it.

FOR AS LONG AS Marilyn Dunne could remember, she knew she wanted to perform. It was ingrained in her little brain, from the first moment she heard Elvis Presley crooning away on the radio, to all the times she watched her older brothers, Billy and Graham, mess about with their guitars, belting out songs in the garage, and in the living room, and while doing the dishes.

When, in 1964, she picked up a guitar for the first time, the one that belonged to her father, though she didn't even remember that deadbeat's face from how long he hadn't been in her life, and started plucking away until she figured out some chords that didn't sound horrible, even though she made her fingers bleed.

When, in 1968, Graham started his own band with his friends, which Billy managed to weasel his way into ( because he always weaseled his way into shit ), that they named The Dunne Brothers, even though only two members of said band were actually Dunnes... and brothers.

When, in 1970, while following the band around as their one and only crew member, she comes face-to-face with her f̶a̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ gene donor, dancing way too provocatively with a girl way too young for him, and she discovers just how important her brothers are to her, and she hopes she'll never, ever wind up like him.

When, in 1971, the bassist drops the band altogether right before they're slated to open for a gig that may actually get them noticed. And, right as Billy's prepared to switch Eddie from rhythm guitar to bass, Marilyn steps up to take on the role.

And, sure, she's not a brother. But, she is a Dunne.

And, it's when The Dunne Brothers relocate to California, and Marilyn decides to have a night out on the town by herself, that she has a chance encounter with Daisy Jones, and she realises two things. 1.) This girl can sing. And 2.) She's feeling that feeling in her heart when Daisy talks to her. The feeling that all of the love songs she listened to growing up sang about. The feeling she never felt for any of her past boyfriends. And because of that realisation, she realises one last thing — she's fucked.

Because loving Daisy can only mean trouble, and it'll only hurt her in the long run, because Marilyn isn't the Dunne that Daisy is interested in.

It won't stop her from trying, though.

— i'm about 80% i messed up canon ages in this, so just to cover my ass, in this: billy is born in 1947, graham is born in 1952, and marilyn is born in 1954. so, graham is 16 and billy is 21 when the dunne brothers get started. the rest of the band (eddie, warren, karen, chuck) are also born in 1952. camila and daisy are both born in 1953. i THINK that should cover it.
