Draco taps his foot impatiently as he sits on the couch in his living room. "You'd think the Ministry would be on time," he mutters to himself, eyeing the fireplace out of the corner of his eyes, "Since they're oh-so-eager to mold me into a so called model Light Side citizen."
Why no, he wasn't bitter in the slightest.
Well, maybe a little.
Okay, very.
After the War, his reputation was obviously tarnished and he could no longer depend on his name and his father's lucrative business to his advantage. True, he was always going to start his own company and make name for himself, but it wouldn't have hurt to have connections.
But now his father had been sentenced to Azkaban for life, although he wasn't necessarily bitter about that development. His mother was freed after only thirteen months of house arrest, since Potter himself had testified for her during her trial. And him? Well, after a year of debating among themselves (during which he had been ordered to finish his seventh year at Hogwarts), the Ministry had finally decided that he would be their lab rat of sorts, testing out a draft of their plan to teach children of Death Eaters the "way of the Light Side." Yay him.
He shouldn't complain though, seeing as how all the other kids were under strict house arrest, not allowed to see anyone either, unlike his mother, who already established weekly tea parties and had held a charity ball. Add the year the RODEC entailed, and they'd be paying for it for three years, unlike his two (if you counted going back to Hogwarts as part of the punishment).
Draco sighs to himself, wondering who he was going to be placed with. They only told him that the person he would be living with and trailing after had agreed, and it was definitely going to be one of those bloody "War Heroes." His first thought had been Potter, but he was probably too busy.
"No," he gasps, sitting straight up from the couch as his eyes widen in horror, "They wouldn't place me with the Weasel, would they?"
No, Weasley would never have agreed. He was far too hot headed and tempestuous to think clearly enough to realize that he had the advantage. He, after all, didn't have his freedom depending on a friendly disposition.
Draco, however, would have no choice but to be amicable. Otherwise, it was Azkaban for him.
"No," he mutters, "No, no, no, no, no. Weasley isn't smart enough to realize that. He would've just heard my name and refused outright." He nods to himself, in hopes that enough conviction would be enough to convince himself.
And the waiting continued.

(A/N): Honestly, I could continue, but I really want to write their meeting in Hermione's POV, so. And for now, most chapters will probably be about eight hundred words (so a little less than double of this). I just wanted to introduce the two before I get into it.
Dedicated to @shadowsleekbecause I never completed that other dramione fic she wanted to read, oops. I promise I'll actually finish this one.
