24: My Eldin Heartbreak

She spun in circles
Leaving silhouettes in the shadows
As the heat of the fire matched the warmth of her heart
An Eldin Gypsy she claimed to be.

He was a prince deceived by the false tales
The prince truly thought that the Gypsies were worse than fiends and worse than beasts.

It was away at sea when all went black
And no more could he see.

She found him laying on the seashore
His clothes all tattered and torn
And when he awoke his voice was filled with scorn.

To the castle he did return
And in him the hate still burned.

The Gypsy left for her grandparents considering them family
But she was fooled by the masks of happiness and jeweled belongings.

They took her to court
Where she met the Royals
But one struck her recognition
It was he
The foul man of scorn.

Not standing the falseness of the nobles she hid by a fountain
Where her skirts she did lift
And splashed her bare Eldin feet in the Waters of the fountain.

"I thought I knew thee"
said He as he approached from the shadows.
False accusations were thrown to the Eldin and true accusations were thrown to the nobles.

His mind in a whirl he searched peace to this turmoil
Finding that he was none other than an ignorant man.

Apologising he attempted amends
But that's not where this story ends.

He continued to observe her from afar
Wondering why she made his heart soar.

She danced with grace
a sincere smile on her face
A true friend she had found
But it was this understanding that set her heart sinking.

She wheaped  in the gardens
Till a prince came to the rescue
His ignorance was no more
Of this Eldin world he wanted to know more.

They escaped the guards
They escaped the nobles
They're feet bare
They did run leaving behind all they're troubles

A gypsy was he
A gypsy was she
They danced all night
And when came first light
They were nobles once more.

They fell in love but it could not be
For promised to another fair lady was he
"My Eldin Heartbreak." Thought she.

She then returned to her grandparents
Wanting to go back to her people
She consulted with them but to no avail.

Stripped of her pride
Stripped of her love
Stripped of her family
Stripped of her freedom
She couldn't help but wish she had listened to her mom.

Along came a friend
Who helped her escape
Back to the Gypsies she was finally safe.

He bid her farewell
And to the seashore Gigi did dwell.
She missed her prince
"Where art thou" she called out.

"I am here"

With a swish of her clothing rags
And her raven black spinning storm of hair brushed by the wind
The Prince's heart she did win
The wedding was off for no noble could match Gigi's beauty out and within.

Embraced under the sunset they decided to be wed
And many tears of Joy (😉) were shed.

Now a Queen was she and a gypsy was he.

And as they stood side by side she whispered:
"My Eldin Heartbreak is no more"
