Glass Hearts

Alan and Austin made small talk in the car. They both enjoyed listening to each other’s ideas and views. They found that they shared a lot of similar interest. Alan and Austin both enjoyed tattoos, metal music, and video games. They went on and on talking about the games they grew up with and which ones they loved.

Sadly, Austin arrived at Alan’s house, and it was time to say goodbye.

Austin walked behind Alan as he walked to the front door.

“Thanks for inviting me over Austin, I’m glad we got a lot of work done.” Alan said, standing in front of the door.

“It was no problem, I’m glad you enjoyed hanging with me. You can come over any time you want. It gets kind of lonely in that apartment.” Austin laughed as he gazed at Alan’s eyes.

Alan was really a beautiful person.

“I might take you up on that offer.” Alan grinned, then he turned towards his door and walked into his house.

Austin really did like that boy.

~~~
Austin was excited for school the next day. He really wanted to see and talk to Alan. That night, he spent time obsessing over Alan, and the way he does things. His crush on Alan was kind of immature for someone his age, but he was so head over heels for this beautiful boy that he didn’t care.
But one thing that Austin promised himself was, ‘just friends for at least a month’. He knew it would almost kill him to not want to become more with Alan, but he was always told that the best relationships start off with friendship. And he wanted nothing but the best for Alan.
Austin got ready for bed, and fixed himself a nice hot cup of sleep tea because he knew he’d have so much on his mind. He sat on his barstool and thought about what was going to be of him and Alan. What if Alan didn’t want to be with him? What if Alan wasn’t fond of males too?
Austin quickly stopped those thoughts. He knew nothing good came from thinking that way. He finished his drink and rushed to bed.
~~~

Alan was extremely happy.

As soon as Alan walked into the classroom Austin motioned for him to sit with him. Alan greeted Austin with a friendly smile, and Austin did the same.

As Alan sat down, the teacher started the class, and Alan paid attention to the class.

Well, he did glance at Austin a few more times than he’d like to admit.

~~~
“My mom said that if you wanted, you can have dinner with me tonight.” Alan offered to Austin as they walked towards Austin’s car. After the class, Austin offered Alan a ride home, and of course, Alan accepted.
“That sounds nice. I’d love to get to know you better.” Austin grinned as he walked to the other side of his car.
Austin’s smile made Alan’s stomach do flips.
Alan’s smile made Austin’s stomach do flips.
~~~

“Hello Ms. Ashby.” Austin stuck his hand out, but was suddenly embraced in a hug by Ms. Ashby.

“It’s lovely to finally meet you Austin.” Ms. Ashby said into his shoulder.

Austin kind of adored Ms. Ashby.

She was a ginger like Alan, and gave him his beautiful eyes.

She was very pretty for her age, and had to softest voice.

She seemed like the kindest woman in the world.

The perfect mother to such a perfect person.

“So Austin, do you like pizza? I would cook, but I have night shift tonight, so I’ll have to leave early.” Ms. Ashby said kindly, as she let go of Austin.

“That’s fine with me, ma’am.” Austin said in his kindest voice. He felt like a monster from being around Alan and his mother.

“Okay, well I’ll order pizza and let you two be. Also Austin, you are free to spend the night if it’s okay with you.” She offered, and then rushed out of the room.

Austin glanced at Alan, and saw the boy smiling.

“She’s the best.” Alan said quietly, almost inaudible. Then, he turned towards Austin. “Wanna see my room?” Alan asked.

Of course Austin said yes.

~~~
Alan had a couple of band posters on his wall, but other than that, it was pretty dull.
Alan had a reason for this of course.
“I don’t like to spend time in my room. I’d rather be with my mom having fun, rather than being alone.” Alan told Austin.
Alan truly was the kindest person ever.
~~~

Now Austin and Alan were sitting on his bed talking, waiting for pizza.

“You aren’t that scary Austin.” Alan said, then giggled at Austin.

That giggle was going to kill Austin.

“What makes me seem so scary?” Austin teased.

Alan giggle, then replied, “You are just really kind, and you look super tough.”

God was Alan adorable.

“Well, you are super gentle and kind, and look like a kitten.” Austin flirted.

Austin froze for a moment. Alan was flirting with him.

Then Alan meowed.
