Rey had finally reached third grade and she couldn't be any happier. Now she was able to see Ben more often. The two played anytime they could and were practically inseparable.

"Ben! Ben! Ben!"

Rey tugged at the arm of the older boy. Today he was sporting a scowl instead of his usual smile.

"Ben what's wrong?'

"It's nothing Rey. You wouldn't understand."

"Yeah I will. I'm your friend! Tell me!"

Ben shook his head.

"Please!"

"Fine. It's just that my parents haven't been home! And I miss them!"

Ben started to cry into her shirt.

"It's okay Ben, I understand. Luke said I don't have any parents so I know how it feels but now we are friends and we are no longer alone!"

Rey threw her hands up and smiled. Ben envied her ability to be happy all the time. She then turned and hugged him.

"Don't worry Ben I'm here for you!"

Ben smiled, at that moment he didn't feel so alone.
