44. Guilty Conscience

Amari POV

Amari blocked Julius from all social media and her phone.

She knew that was not enough, he knew where she lived. So she spent all her time at Calvin's place. She felt like she could do it, move in if he asked her to. He had a nice big house and she worked from home while he was gone all day. It was perfect.

If they were ready for that step.

Was it love she felt for Calvin, or was she playing with that man's feelings?

Calvin was the perfect man for any woman. He was the type of guy who did not play those silly games of sleeping around, cheating, or controlling a woman. Not only was he a nice, sensitive man, but he was also gorgeous as hell, made good money at his job, owned his own home, and was a good father to his daughter.

The best qualities.

The least she could do was have a nice meal waiting for him when he came home every night. That is exactly what she was doing when she heard someone at the door. She checked the time, and it had to be Calvin, he was right on time.

She looked down at herself, waiting in the kitchen looking sexy for him in only a thong and a t-shirt that did not cover much. She wanted to strike a pose for him but then stopped and jumped when instead of Calvin walking into the kitchen, it was his frat brother Wayne.

"Oh! What are you doing here?" She pulled her little shirt down as far as it would go, which was not far.

He snickered, his eyes lingering a little too hard on her. "My bad! I have the key and Cal said he would meet me here so we can watch a game."

Calvin never mentioned that to her, not that he had to. Also, Calvin had to have told Wayne that she was there and not to barge in as if he lived there. She could have been doing anything in there and he walked in unannounced.

"Damn girl, what you cooking in here? Smells good! I know I'm getting a plate." Wayne was already looking in the oven at the baked chicken breast and roasted veggies she was finishing up.

Though she was cool with Wayne back in the day when she was a young freshman at college, she had no interest in him that way. She considered him a friend back then. He never once tried to get with her like other guys were trying to do.

"Actually..." She only made enough for her and Calvin. This man was tripping, busting up in here trying to eat their food. "Let me go change and then I can see what I can make for you."

"Actually, baby-" He grabbed her by the wrist, and gave her body a once over with a smirk on his face that disgusted her. "We can have a little fun before my boy gets here. You're looking good."

"Boy stop."

She pushed him away with her other hand, but he still held her wrist, even as she tried to pull free.

"Aw, stop playing. I know you want some of Wayne. You used to pop that ass for err'body back at Truman, I want some of that pie too."

What the hell was he talking about? She did not sleep around while she was at Truman? They were all over her trying to pop her cherry, and she only slept with one guy while there. How would this mother fucker know about that one?

"Wayne, you better back the fuck off me."

"Come on Mari, I bet you suck good dick-"

With her other hand, she clawed the shit out of his face. When he screamed out in pain. She pulled herself free from his hold, then she grabbed his face with both hands and dug deep into his face and scratched some more.

"Bitch, Imma kill you!"

She started to run out of the kitchen as he grabbed her hard and pushed her face first against the wall.

"Now I'm going to fuck you for that. All you had to do was suck my dick, bitch."

She squirmed as she felt his hands touch her backside, and she screamed bloody murder. She started to fight him as much as she could while he grinded on her.

"What the hell is going on?" Calvin had rushed in, probably hearing her scream from outside.

Wayne released her and played it off, while she shivered and cried and rushed into Calvin's arms.

"Nothing man, she wanted some dick and I was going to give it to her."

Calvin ignored him and focused on her. "Babe, babe, shhh, babe, I got you." Calvin hugged her to him, and she felt safe. "You okay baby?"

She calmed herself, but she was still shaken.

"Babe, I got you." Calvin released her, stepped to Wayne, swung his fist, and connected it to Wayne's eye. "You laid hands on my girl? What the fuck is wrong with you? Get the hell out of my house!"

"Man, fuck that bitch, I wasn't doing anything she didn't want with her ass all out in my face."

Calvin stepped up to him again ready to pounce when Wayne darted out of the room. Calvin chased after him.

"Don't ever bring your punk ass back over here again. Consider us done, frat!"

Once Wayne was gone, he closed the door and locked it. That did not make her feel any safer. He still had the key. He could come back at any time and do anything to her. He could hurt Calvin and then get her.

"Calvin, I don't think I want to stay here tonight."

"Babe, he's not gonna hurt you again. I promise you that." Calvin held her in his arms and kissed her forehead. "I'm sorry that shit happened to you. That's on me babe, I'm so sorry. If I-"

"No, it's not on you."

"Yes, it is! I should not have asked what I thought was my friend, my frat, my line brother to stop by...like, you're my woman and he...fuck!"

She could tell Calvin was upset. What almost happened? With his fraternity brother. She was shaken, but she wanted to put it behind her.

"I think I burned our dinner." She tried to walk away from him, but he held her.

"You think I give a fuck about some food? Mari, he touched you!"

"I know, I was there!" she screamed at him then started to cry again. She felt icky again recalling his hands on her body, his hardness pressed against her. She was going to be sick.

"Babe, I'm sorry I yelled." He rubbed her face. "Mari, baby, I'm so sorry. I love you so much, and this hurts me so much. I wasn't here for you."

How was she going to get over it, being violated that way?

"Let me go, Calvin, I'm fine." She pulled away from him. She was not fine, but she would not continue to let that boy stay in her head forever.

She turned off the stove and pulled out the overcooked chicken and veggies. As she wiped away tears from her eyes, Calvin walked over and wrapped his arms around her.

"Babe, stop. I said forget about the food. You're hungry? I'll order something. Let's go lie down and relax."

She hated feeling so weak. If Calvin had not come at that moment, would she have fought him off? She hated to think about it, so she cleared her mind of it. She went into the bedroom and then immediately into his bathroom, turning the shower on. Maybe if she washed away the feel of him touching her.

"Want me to join you?"

"No Cal, I just need a minute."

"Okay."

She cried in the shower. Washed her hair and washed tears away as she silently cried. She blamed herself. Maybe she dressed too sexy. Maybe she gave him the wrong impression. Maybe all her sleeping around and being wild in the past was catching up to her.

How did a man like Calvin love her?

She cheated on him and did not deserve him.

She hated herself.
