"And this is my favorite cafe," Christen gestured around the small vintage room. Allie and Tobin looked around. It was very small- a little bar was located in the back, sofas with scarves and coffee tables were scattered around the room. Tobin and Allie looked at their tour guide gratefully. Christen was a year older than both girls. Tobin and Allie had been friends in grade school and were both glad they knew somebody at the large university. They had been craving coffee ad usual, but the cafeteria was very crowded. Luckily, that's why student services existed.
Christen had been showing them around New York City for the past two hours- and the girls were both exhausted. After they had finished sipping on their lattes, Tobin sighed.
"We should be getting back," she said. "It's getting dark and we shouldn't be out past curfew."
Christen nodded. "I agree. That's step three of succeding in college. Be punctunal." The three girls headed back to the university.
On their way, Christen started up a conversation in the awkward atmosphere. "Are you guys signing up for any extras?" Tobin and Allie exchanged a glance. "Yeah," Allie spoke for the first time. "We're trying out for soccer."
Christen whistled. "Just a heads up, Coach Jackson is very harsh."
"Do you play?" Tobin asked, intrigued.
Christen nodded, "I'm a forward."
The silence appeard again and they soon arrived at NYU.
"Well, see you girls tomorrow at tryouts." Christen waved goodbye.

Kelley was exhausted after her second day of classes. Who knew her favorite pediatrican course would be so hard? She unlocked the door to her room and collapsed on the bed. Allie wasn't back yet- she was out with Tobin, her childhood friend. Even though Allie's presence was almost silent, Kelley was sort of glad to be alone. She wanted to work out her emotions and the stress she was experincing.
A knock on the door caused the young woman to groan, as she went up and opened it. Dressed in atheltic shorts and a tee shirt, Alex Morgan held a soccer ball in her hand and a big smile on her face.
"Hey Kells," she rasped. "Do you want to go and practice for tryouts tomorrow?"
Kelley couldn't help but grin. "Sure, be right there." She quickly shut the door and sped into soccer clothes.
"I'm ready," Kelley called, opening the door and joining Alex in the hallway. "Where are we playing?"
"Uh, the green?"
"Right," she commented, holding the door open for the younger girl. "My lady," Kelley joked. Alex blushed, but kept a straight face.
"Come on, keep up!" Alex said, dropping the ball and sprinting once they had reached the grass.
"No fair!" Kelley protested. Alex had a head start! Seeming to read her mind, Alex said, "Your speed is greater than mine- you should pass me even though I started first!"
This time, it was Kelley that blushed.
