10| You Know The School's Rule.
YOU KNOW THE SCHOOL'S RULE.
Done changing, I looked at the mirror feeling slightly uncomfortable with what I had worn. I sighed, drifting away from it to pick my bag. I shoved the clothes I had worn to school into the bag and carried it swiftly.
Walking out of the washroom, I had the feeling of tiredness drench over my body. The day hadn't even started but yet, I was feeling all tired. A little ache affected my head causing me to rub my forehead consistently with my hand.
The bell rang, signalling everyone that school had started. Being the first day, I knew we had assembly first. Starting my second year in sixth form didn't really bother me but what did were my grades. I was good at the subjects I did but I wasn't the best either.
I needed good grades to get accepted to the university I had planned to go to after high school. It was just not any university. They mostly accepted good grades and I knew I only had one chance. My parents would not be ready to pay for another extra classes for me to get good grades again. No not at all. Sometimes they found it difficult to even pay for the dancing classes I'd always wanted to attend.
I untied my hair and tied it again. I did that when I was sensitive towards my thoughts. Biting my bottom lip, I stood close to the auditorium waiting for everyone to get inside. I liked to sit on the row closer to the door, which was the back and the only way to get it was if I entered as one of the last people.
Seeing as everyone rushed into the door, I was about to enter when I heard Hannah call me. I looked around to see her walking briskly towards me with books. Heavy books, I meant.
"Noellia, the janitor said I should give this to you. Apparently, you left them at school last year."
"No wonder. I can swear to you that I had searched my whole house for these books. I even hid Collin's own, thinking it was him that had them." I chuckled, remembering how he had gotten frustrated after looking for the books.
She handed them to me carefully, not wanting any of them to fall on the floor and cause a heavy 'bang'. Carrying them, I went on my knees to pack the books into my bag, knowing I'd remove them and put them in my locker after assembly. Hannah left to enter the auditorium.
Almost done, I spotted legs close to my bag. They were covered with black stocking and had black shoes on. Raising my head up, I see the school's prefect. She was staring down at me, her eyes full of hatred and bitterness.
I zipped my bag and stood on my feet, looking straight into her eyes. What did she want from me? She was nominated last year by students. She had bribed like almost the whole school with pizza and fried chips from Mc Donalds if they voted her. Her father owning many companies made many people believe and vote for her.
Not saying that I was rich or anything but I could buy those things ten times if I wanted to, with my savings included. "You're late for assembly young lady."
I arched my eyebrow being confused at what she had said, "I'm not late and besides, I was about to enter when you stopped me."
"Noellia, the door has been closed and locked from inside. You know the school's rule. After 20 minutes of the bell being rang the auditorium is always locked." She crossed her arms.
"Becca, you-"
"I've always warned you to stop calling my name. It sounds disrelished when you pronounce it." I rolled my eyes at her statement and folded my arms too. "Well, not to waste much time. I'd be grateful if you head straight to the principal's office politely without complain and wait there for a detention slip. You know what happens when students are late. They are given detention."
"And may I ask who gave you the authority to give students detention?"
"Principal Vienna, you could ask her about that after you get the detention if you don't believe me."
"So what happens to you? The last time I checked, you are also outside the auditorium with me," I smirked pleasingly.
"As the prefect of the school, I have the right to check those who are late and send them to wait for the principal till she's done with assembly."
"Mhmm well, whatever." I uttered getting closer to her, "I need you to get this in your head and let it sink. Don't think you can just talk to anybody anyhow. I never voted for you so that gives me a right to not listen to you. Excuse me." Making our shoulders bump, I walked out of her sight.
Knowing I was far from her, I sighed feeling a bit of an ache on my head again. I glanced at the principal office that was a few distance away from me. I should just go there right? I queried myself. If I didn't go she'd definitely report me to the principal. We had cameras at school so lying would be senseless and very stupid.
Feeling defeated, I sauntered towards the principal's office with a frown on my face.
