Chapter 5
I made the quote above and thought it would go perfect with the story.

Kanan's P.O.V
I shot up hitting my head on the cardboard in surprise when a loud noise woke me up. Rubbing my head, I crawled out of the fort then stood up and looked around at the tall buildings. I forgot that I made it to the city and found somewhere to sleep.
I walked out of the ally and searched for a place that had food. There was no choice but to steal it because I had no money. So I went to the nearest food store and sneaked through the back door. People really need to lock these doors or set an alarm. Getting in was easy but getting out, who knows.
My eyes landed on a security camera that was pointed in a different direction. Then I leaped behind a crate when the camera started to move where I was just at. I peeked over the crate a bit and sighed in relief when the camera was looking in a different direction now. I quickly took the top off the crate and looked inside to see apples.
I took a few then put the top back on and sneaked to a different crate that was near by. I quickly glanced at the camera to see that it hadn't moved yet so taking off the lid, my eyes spotted bread inside. I took a loaf and put the lid back on and looked at the security camera. It started to move so I quietly ran for the door and exited the back of the store.
'Man, that was to easy,' I thought while taking a bite of of an apple. While walking through a park, I saw a drinking fountain and went to get a drink. The cold and refreshing water felt amazing when it hit the inside of my mouth. Soon I left and made a note to remember this place to get water so I wouldn't have to steal any.
After that, I just walked around the city but not to far from my fort. Since I'm staying here, I need to know it well enough to get around easily. The buildings were huge and the streets were noisy unlike Lothal. Lothal was more quiet but was split into two when the clones attacked.
I saw a newspaper story when I was making my fort for the night. Some person named Kallus took over and split Lothal into two, the poor class and wealthy class. It was a mess and the poor blames the rich while the rich blames the poor. I honestly didn't know what the poor did to make the rich so mad but for whatever reason, now Lothal has changed.
I'm the last of the police officers sort of. The troopers were sent to find and kill all officers and family, at least that's what the paper said.
I didn't want to hide like a coward but I couldn't reveal my identity or might as well be dead if caught. My hood is secure over my head to make sure that I'm hidden. A lone wolf. A shadow. Forgotten......alone.........again.
I took deep breaths in and out to calm myself. There was no way that I'm going to freak out in the middle of a sidewalk. So I blankly kept looking forward making myself blend in with the crowd.
I ate the last of my food when I saw a couple of credits on the ground. 'It must be my lucky day,' I thought picking up the credits. I glanced up to see the sun setting then across the street to see a bar. There was a big sign on the top that read Gorse. I looked back down at the money in my hands then back at the bar. Depa would never approve of this......but she wasn't here anymore.
Carefully, I crossed the street and entered the bar with my hood still up covering my face. I strolled over to the far back table so no one would see me. Yet, as I walked to the table, there were still some eyes lingering in my direction. Ignoring them, I sat in the booth and hid from any of those lingering eyes.
This felt weird and creepy having drunk people eyeing you like your the crazy one. Even though they are probably wanting to run out onto the street and scream their lungs out like mad men. Whatever the reasons they had were quickly forgotten as they turned back in their seats and went back to what they were doing.
I leaned against the table with an arm resting on the table and my head in my hand. My other arm laid on the table drumming the cool surface as I stared off into space. "Hello?" I sweet voice called and snapped out of my trance. My eyes landed on a girl that seemed to be around my age.
She was wearing a waitress attire with a notebook in one hand and a pencil in the other. Brown silky hair framed her face as she smiled at me. Then her eyes...they were like emeralds shimmering in the darkest of caves. I would be lying if I didn't think she was cute.
"May take your order?" She asked.
"Um," I stuttered then shook my head to clear my thoughts, "Can I have a beer?"
"Right away," the girl said smiling warmly at me and went to get the beverage. What am I thinking?! No attachments! Besides, even if I thought she was cute or whatever, I would just getting hurt again. Everyone that I love or care about always ends up dead or gone at the end. What makes a difference this time around? She probably would be disgusted with me if she knew who I was.
Hera's P.O.V
I wonder who that was? I never seen him before in the city. Could he be from out of town?
My thoughts were paused as I went over to Joe. "Can you hand me a beer?" I asked and Joe did just that. "Who is that?" Joe asked pointing to the same person I just talked too. "I don't know," I admitted.
"Well, after this is your break," Joe said, "How about you go talk to the stranger?" I didn't have anything else to do so shrugged and went back over to the mysterious person with a beer bottle in hand. Maybe they could be a new friend?
"Here you go," I said sliding the bottle over the the cloaked person. "Thank you," by the sound of their voice it sounds like it was a he. He opened the beer and taking a swig. "Can I sit with you?" I asked. It seemed like he almost choked on his drink and I laughed a little. He didn't say anything so I just took it as a yes and slid into the booth.
"Who are you?"
