I Thought Angels Were Supposed To Be Nice (22)
The room was pitch black. The Doctor, Bill and Ali were trying to be very silent. They even slowed their breathing. Ali felt a gush of wind blow past her.
The Doctor slowly pulled out his sonic and turned it on.
Bill gasped.
The sonic's hum turned to lights on, revealing four Weeping Angels surrounding them. They had their arms stretched out, reaching for them. Their faces contorted with anger, mouth agape with long fangs ready to rip out flesh.
"Doctor," Bill whispered, her voice filled with fear. The Doctor didn't take his eyes off the Angels surrounding him. The sonic was the only thing keeping the light on.
"Bill, It's okay. Just don't blink." Ali made sure the Doctor was looking at the Angels before turning around.
"Doctor, you should see this. I'll keep my eye on the Angels." Ali looked at the stone statues so the Doctor could turn around.
The Doctor gasped when he saw what Ali was talking about. A Weeping Angel had it's hands wrapped around Bill's neck. If the lights went out, Bill would be dead.
"Doctor, what do I do?" Bill whispered. The Doctor put his hand out to Bill.
"Don't take your eyes off it. Are the fingers all the way around your neck?" Bill nodded slowly. The Doctor said something under his breath that no one could decipher.
Ali suddenly had an idea.
"Okay Doctor, I'm going to keep the lights on with my sonic. You set your sonic to a frequency that would break stone and burn flesh." The Doctor didn't know where Ali was going with this but he did as he was instructed. Ali pulled out her sonic screwdriver while still looking at the stone Angels.
Ali raised her sonic to the light bulbs and pressed the button.
The light was stable. Ali let out a silent cheer under her breath while the Doctor tried to set his sonic to the frequency that Ali told him to.
The Doctor finally got the frequency and he turned to Ali. "What do I do now?"
"Use the frequency on the Angels."
"But it won't work!"
"Trust me." The Doctor sighed and did as he was told. He pressed it to the Angel's hands. Nothing happened, as the Doctor predicted.
"Okay Ali, what do I do now? The screwdriver isn't doing anything!"
"Doctor do You trust me?
"I already said yes!"
"I'm going to turn off the lights."
The Doctor's face said it all. "NO! You're not turning off the lights. That's the only thing that's keeping us alive! If you turn them off, we're dead." Al didn't say anything.
"It's a risk we have to be willing to take to save Bill." The Doctor sighed and nodded. Ali smiled as she took her hand off the light for one second.
When the lights came on, the Angels surrounding them were almost face to face. He didn't have their mouths open, like usual.
They all were looking at the Angel who had it's hands around Bill. Only this time, Bill's neck was free. Ali's plan worked.
The Doctor looked in amazement. "How did you know?" Ali smiled.
"Well if you combine the frequency, it is like a shock to the Angels so if you give them time to move, they will move away from you." The Doctor nodded and grabbed Bill's hand. Neither of them took their eyes of the Angels as the headed for the door.
The Doctor tried to open the door but it was locked.
Bill was very impatient. "Doctor, why can't you use your sonic to open the door?"
The Doctor sighed. "My sonic doesn't work on wood-"
"But mine does!" Ali smiled smugly as she pressed the button on her sonic. The door clicked open and the trio slowly backed out of the house.
"Run!" Ali yelled as the house suddenly went up in flames. A shock wave sent the three of them to the ground. The Doctor glared at Ali.
"Why did you do that?"
Ali shrugged. "Better be safe than sorry." Ali sighed in relief. "Well! I'm glad that's over! I want to get home and stuff." The Doctor and Bill kept looking back.
"Relaaaax. They won't come after us trust-" Ali turned around to see an Angel reaching out. It's talon-like fingernails reaching out. Its face twisted and it's mouth wide open.
"I thought angels were supposed to be nice." Ali mumbled.
Suddenly a man with platinum blonde hair and strikingly blue eye popped in front of them. Ali turned around. The Angels had left.
"Well, at least they gave us a present."
