History Ruins Everything (23)
The man in front of me was, meh. I mean he literally just appeared out of thin air and you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover. Well too bad, I already did. This dude looked like he was in his early thirties had really blonde hair, pale skin and blue eyes. He obviously hasn't gotten a lot of sun, which is common in England. If he was even from here
"Umm does anyone know where we are?" He asked, looking around to see his surroundings.
"Umm we're in London. Who are you?"
The man waited and then smiled, holding his hand out to the Doctor.
"I'm Craig. And you guys are?"
The Doctor, Bill and I exchanges looks before answering.
"Hi I'm Bill!" Bill gave a small wave with her right hand. The Doctor stepped up.
"And I'm the Doctor." Craig tilted his head in confusion.
"Doctor who?" The Doctor sighed.
"Everytime." The Doctor mumbled as he walked away.
I jumped and spread my arm out wide. "And I'm Ali! It's nice to meet ya! Are you by any chance Craig Jenkins?" He looked around nervously.
"Um yes? Why do you ask?" I nodded, making sure to make a creepy face. This successfully scared Craig a little.
"Because we're hear for y-o-u! You!" I sounded super cheesy but do I care? (The answer is no by the way.) (Gee, there goes the fourth wall, I think) Craig looked nervous, like he was suddenly given a hard decision that would change his life and that he had to make his choice in a few seconds.
"I-well, umm." It was funny seeing him like this. "That's, great. I guess. Why exactly are you here for me? Did I do something wrong?"
I suddenly was giddy. "Well you see, you were-"
"What do you remember?" The Doctor interrupted me.
Don't tell
Oh right. I forgot about the whole telepathic-communication thing the Doctor and I established.
Well why not? I retorted.
It could alter history. I huffed. Stupid history, it's ruining everything. I just want to help this dude who has no idea what happened or is going to happen.
Craig coughed before he spoke. "Well, I was on my way to work when I saw this stone statue. I went up to admire it and the next thing I know, I was here." I slowly nodded as I started to walk towards the TARDIS.
"Hey, where are you going?" The Doctor grabbed my arm.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm going to bring him to the TARDIS so we can put him back where he came from. Simple as that." The Doctor gave me a look. I sarcastically shrugged. "Hey, it's fixing the problem isn't it?"
The Doctor turned to Craig. "What year is it?" Craig gave the usual response.
"That's a weird thing to ask. Wouldn't you know?" The Doctor sighed. He was about to ask again but I decided I needed to help because who wouldn't want my help?
"Let's cut to the chase. What. Year. Is. It?"
Craig leaned away a little bit but finally answered. "N-nineteen thirty eight. Why do you ask?"
I shrugged. "Just making sure nothing is wrong with your head." I tapped his head. The Doctor, Bill, Craig and I started to walk towards the TARDIS but Craig stopped us.
"Isn't anyone wondering how the weather changed so fast? It was sunny and now it's foggy and murky. How can weather change in an instant? Manhattan weather doesn't change that fast!"
"Woah woah woah, did you say Manhattan?" The Doctor put his hands up like he was telling a car to stop.
Craig waited a few seconds before answering. "Yeah, isn't this Manhattan?" Bill shook her head and the Doctor didn't say anything.
I just shook my head. "Nope. This is London." Craig looked around, his eyes widened as he gazed at Big Ben.
"What year did you happen to come from?" Bill asked. She didn't sound forceful. She sounded kind, like how a mother would talk to her child.
"No, this is all too weird. I must have forgotten. Now you're saying that I suddenly traveled across an ocean in a second. You people are crazy, I'm not answering any more of your questions."
The Doctor suddenly grabbed Craig's arm. "What year, did you come from?" I'm not asking again." I was shocked. I've never seen the Doctor act this way. Not even my Doctor. The Doctor glared at Craig with intense eyes. Craig gulped.
"1938"
The Doctor looked intensely at Craig. "What day?"
At this point everybody was terrified. Why was the Doctor acting like this? What is so important? Craig looked at the Doctor with a nervous face.
"April third."
A/N- Do you know why the Doctor was acting this way? What's so special about New York 1938? Find out! And sorry for being a day late, I forgot that yesterday was Friday. Aaaaaanyway, I'll see you next week my Precious Pineapples! Byeeeeeee!
