Chapter 49

Ibraheem's POV:

She had fallen asleep in my arms. She must have been pretty exhausted. I looked down at her apologetically. You did put her through hell and back, Ibraheem. Shaking the negative thoughts that were slowly emerging in my head, I carefully laid her down, adjusting the pillows so she was comfortable. Wrapping her arms arounds my waist, she snuggled into me.

I looked up at the ceiling.

Allah, are you testing me right now?

Inappropriate thoughts kept invading my mind. Bite her neck, the devil within me whispered. Let her sleep, you have exhausted her enough for today. The saint reasoned. You won't get a chance like this again. The evil countered. She is your wife, she is not going anywhere. The saint glared at the two of us. I shook my head as I snapped my eyes open.

Ignoring the subconscious bickering in my head, I kissed her forehead causing the two entities to disappear. I looked down at her lovingly. This was no less of a miracle. Misha Yousaf was sleeping in my bed, in my house, in Karachi. This reminded me of all the nights I had dreamed of this. To think it would come true, God really was great. Shukar Alhamdulilah.

Once I was sure she was in deep sleep, I carefully removed her arms from my waist to make sure she didn't wake up. She moaned a little but I successfully detached myself from her. I was about to cover her with a bedspread but she suddenly grabbed my hand. I jolted as I turned to her but noticed that she was frowning in her sleep.

"Don't...go...Ibraheem," she mumbled softly an I felt my heart warm up. I held her hand tightly. "Don't...leave...me...again."

Enveloping her hand with both of my hands, I kissed it. "Never again, Meri jaan." Her frown disappeared slowly and her facial features softened as she fell back into deep sleep again, holding my hand tightly in hers.

Deciding to stay by Misha's side, I took out my phone texting the boys to leave the conversation regarding Shahbaz to morning and that it was already late and they should just rest up in the guest rooms. Once they responded with an okay and a smirk emoji, I rolled my eyes as I put my phone on the side table.

Not letting go of Misha's hand, I laid down besides her, looking at her as I fell into a deep slumber as well.

Misha's POV:

I woke up to a cold, empty bed. I blinked quickly as I looked around in shock. Instantly, I recognized the room as Ibraheem's and sighed in relief, remembering the events of last night. I looked down to see the silver pendant hanging from my neck. I felt my heart skip a beat.

I had woken up in the middle of the night due to an unknown fright but calmed down almost immediately when I noticed Ibraheem lying beside me deep in sleep. His hand holding mine. I smiled as I looked at him warmly.

I had pushed a strand of my hair back while kissing his forehead tenderly, making sure not to wake him up before I fell asleep again. Thinking now, it had felt really unreal to be sleeping in the same bed with him. It made me realize that life could leave you speechless at any time.

I scanned the spacious room and spotted a yellow sticky note on the side table.

To my dear wifey,
Good morning. I hope you had a good sleep. I am going out for a bit but don't worry I will be back soon. The food is on the kitchen counter. The cook is around so if you want to eat something just let her know.
Yours only,
Ibraheem.

I let out a giggle as I put it down. Damn, he was cheesy. I got out of the bed and stretched hearing my joints crack in response. Yikes. Food comes later. I needed to wash and change my pad. I looked around to find the door to the bathroom so I could wash my face. I recognized the door that I had entered from last night which means the other door probably leads to the bathroom. There was a sticky note attached to it.

Your pads are in the first cupboard to the left. I hung your clothes in the next cupboard along with my clothes. Right where they belong. ;)

I rolled my eyes as a smile crept unto my face. Turning the door knob, I was surprised to see that it led to a huge wardrobe and another door. The interior was beautiful. There was a glass see through table in the middle with maroon cupboards on the opposite walls. I peaked through the glass table and saw all kinds of cufflinks, ties, watches displayed under the glass. They all looked really expensive. I mean I was well off but this looked like a whole different level of rich.

As he had instructed, the first cupboard contained my pads so I took out one. I wasn't up for a shower right now so I ditched the clothes and turned the door knob of the second door.

The bathroom was gorgeous. I never thought a pitch black and grey bathroom could look this pleasing. The floor had black tiles with some form of glitter in them. There was a jacuzzi in one corner and a vanity basin beside it. There was a long line of perfumes on the marble counter.

All I could say was, damn this was so aesthetic. I walked to the marble counter and looked at the items. There was a perfume that was sitting a little far from the others so I decided to smell it. The smell was nostalgic. It immediately reminded me of Ibraheem's neck and arms and chest. So this is what he wears huh? Hot.

I was about to smell the other perfumes when I spotted a packed tooth brush with a small yellow sticky note attached to it.

I can't let my wifey's perfect teeth get ruined now, can I?

I read the sticky note and smiled as I ripped open the tooth brush, put tooth paste on it and started to brush my teeth. How considerate of him. I scanned the rest of the items and spotted another sticky note. I picked it up while brushing my teeth.

The first drawer contains face washes and soaps I brought for you. I didn't know which one you liked so I got all kinds of them.

Frowning, I opened the first drawer and almost chocked on the tooth paste as I saw around fourteen different kinds of face washes. Why was he so extra?

Luckily, one of the fourteen was the face wash I used so I took off the seal and washed my face. Once I was done with the rest I stepped outside with a satisfied look on my face.

I was about to head out to the kitchen when I heard a loud booming voice that I recognized almost immediately. Ibraheem's father. I flinched as the yelling continued. Omg. It was his parents.

It felt like they were right outside. I can't face them. Especially after my family chased them out that day. I was so embarrassed. Oh God, this was going to be a disaster. I will make a joke of myself. They will kick me out in anger. Fear slowly took over my senses as I stepped away from the door leading outside. Allah please help me, I shut my eyes and then it flashed. The image of Ibraheem's peaceful sleeping face beside mine and his hand entwined with mine.

I felt my confidence returning as I strengthened my resolve. I could do this. I should do this. With my fear slowly dissipating, I turned the door knob to face them. Here goes nothing.

Ibraheem's POV:

"TUMHARA DIMAGH TOU NAHI KHARAB HOGAYA?! (HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!)" Abbu roared for the second time. I was hoping he would speak in a lower tone to not wake Misha up but it was already too late. I noticed Misha stepping out of my room with a bewildered look on her face.

"Abbu, ahista baat karen. Dekhen, Misha uth gayi hai apke chilane ki waja se. (Father, speak softly. Look, you woke up Misha with all your yelling.)" I answered calmly as I looked at Misha lovingly. Abbu narrowed his eyes at me before he moved to take off his shoe. Uh-oh. Here it comes again. I looked to ammi for help.

"Khan Sahab, itna ghusa maat khayen, apka blood pressure high hojayega. Doctor ne apko stress lenay se mana kiya hua hai. (Khan Sahab, don't get so angry, your blood pressure will rise. Doctor has asked you not to take so much stress.)" Ammi tried to stop Abbu as she put her hand on his shoulder to calm him down. She squeezed it gently while giving me a warning look to shut up.

"Kaisay stress na lun jab yeh besharam aisi bewakoof harkatein karta hai? Mujhe keh kar ke Misha ke maa baap se baat nahi karni, khud usko idher utha kar le aya hai? Mujhe tou yeh nahi samajh arahi ke yeh akhir kis par chala gaya hai! (How do I not take stress when this shameless idiot keeps pulling stupid stunts like this? He told me not to talk to Misha's parents and yet he brought her here on his own accord? I just don't understand what he grew up to be!") Well, he had a point but the circumstances called for it. I dodged the shoe just in time.

Was it my imagination or did Misha snicker just now? Was she enjoying this? I squinted my eyes in her direction but she quickly masked her expression and turned all serious again. I watched ammi take a step towards Misha.

"I am sorry you had to see this." I heard her tell Misha who shook her head in return.

"It's okay auntie. It happens. I am sorry about before. About what happened at my house. I hope you can forgive my family on behalf of me for making you leave like that. I wanted to apologize sooner but the circumstances didn't call for it." I had focused my attention on Misha and Ammi's conversation, completely ignoring the second shoe that was coming my way. It hit me in the shoulder. I turned my focus back to Abbu who was seething at me.

"It's alright. As a parent myself, I can understand why they did what they did. Ibraheem's father and I have already settled our differences with Ibraheem. You are his choice so we can't really refuse since you are practically family now." I heard ammi tell Misha who kept nodding her head in reply. Misha's maturity was surprising but it made me proud of her.

Abbu turned to her as well when he realized I wasn't listening to him at all. Shit. He was going to scare her away. I stepped in his direction but his cold, brutal gaze froze me on the step. I was about to intervene but Misha beat me to it.

"Before you say anything Uncle, I just want to say how sorry I am for everything. Ibraheem has made mistakes and so have I and," To my utmost surprise, his cold gaze turned soft as he continued to listen to Misha. "I honestly don't know what to do in this situation and I am sure it is awkward for you and auntie as well but I have accepted it as it comes and I know I am asking for alot but please accept us as well." She paused before looking at him with a determined look on her face.

Misha then turned her narrowed glare at me causing me to flinch "Despite his stupidity at times, I really love your son, Ibraheem. Uh oh, I wasn't supposed to call him stupid." I heard her mumble the last line to herself as I watched panic take over her features. Damn, I think I fell for her all over again.

Abbu started to laugh causing Misha and I to look at him in surprise as he patted Misha's head gently.

"I guess I can see what he sees in you. All I can say is, welcome to the Narejo family, Misha." He smiled at her. A smile she returned. "I see he is continuing his father's legacy of marrying under odd conditions though I am surprised you came to Karachi willingly. Even Ibraheem's mother rebelled a little."

"Willingly?" Misha blinked in confusion as she looked at me and then at Abbu. Oh shit. "What makes you say that?"

"Well, Ibraheem said that-" He paused and the both of them turned their cold stares at me. I could already tell Misha and Abbu would get along. They were similar in some scary hidden ways. "IBRAHEEM, TU MISHA KO UTHA KAR LAYA HAI? (IBRAHEEM, YOU KIDNAPPED MISHA?")

Fortunately, Fahad stepped outside the guest room without a shirt on. He lazily turned towards us and nodded his head.

"Salaam Auntie, Uncle, Bhabhi and bhai." He greeted us groggily and Abbu turned his glare in his direction. "I see you all had a happy family reunion."

"YOU WERE IN ON THIS?!" As if someone had thrown cold water on Fahad, his eyes went wide open as he looked at all of us. Kamran walked out of the kitchen in a black vest with a bottle of water in his hand and a sandwich in another. Abbu turned to him enraged and for a second, Kamran's eyes widened before they turned back normal. "YOU TWO ARE SUPPOSED TO STOP HIM FROM DOING SOMETHING SO SCANDALOUS! HE IS A POLITICIAN FOR FUCKS SAKE. PEOPLE CAN USE THIS AGAINST HIM!"

"Oh ho, uncle, chill karen, kisi ko nahi pata ke humne bhabhi ko uthwaya-bhabhi ko idher le kar ayen hen. (Chill uncle, nobody knows we kidnapp-I mean brought bhabhi here.)" Fahad grinned and Kamran nodded his head. "Yahan tak ke, kisi ko nahi pata ke in dono ki shadi hogayi hai, haina, bhai? (Nobody even knows they are married yet, right bro?)"

The room fell deathly silent as I turned to Misha with a narrowed eye look and she looked shook as she turned to look down.

"Kya? Kya? Khamoshi kyun hogayi hai? (What? What? Why are you being silent?)" Fahad looked between the two of us.

"Somebody does know. Cause Misha professed it in the middle of a mall." I said in a really low voice, hoping it would dissolve into the silence.

"Who?" Fahad questioned.

"Saba." A short silence fell on us again but Fahad broke it again.

"Saba? You mean your ex, Saba?" I nodded my head as Misha refused to make eye contact with me. Oh sure, look away now. Real mature.

"You mean, Shahbaz's current girlfriend? That Saba?" Kamran spoke up while looking at Fahad who simply nodded in return.

Just wonderful.
