Six: Bitter Cold Boss

Elsa

"No. Not happening.", a tall guy with white hair suddenly entered the room... with me swiveling myself on the chair like a maniac. "You may leave, Miss Coldstone."

My jaw dropped, and I hid a scoff. I fixed my hair, and smoothened out the wrinkles on my flowery skirt.

This must be the one hell of a boss, Jack Frost

But, I need this job... so in desperation, I said, "No wait, please. I'm so sorry."

"You really must leave now.", he said sternly... his baby blue eyes burning on me. He turned to the girl, Rapunzel as I remember, "Bring in the next appointment."

God, Elsa... first job... you're gonna FLUNK already?! 
KEEP IT TOGETHER!

"But, Jack.", she argued. "She's the very last one. We need her." This girl must be close to Mr. Bitter to call him by his first name... Who could be close to this dude, for God's holy sake?

He looked back at Rapunzel, annoyed... then looked back at me, "Fine. But you only get one chance."

"One chance.", his voice echoed into my mind. I don't know but, it just simply circled there for a moment. I gave him a small smile, "Thank you so much. I won't let you down. I promise."

"You better not.", he taunted. He turned on his heel, "I'll be right back. I'm just gonna get something."

Once the conference room's door closed, I looked over at Rapunzel... who looked very sorry.

"I'm sorry about Jack...", she said. "He's quite normally like that."

"Thanks for defending me...", I smiled. "But mind if I ask why he's like that?"

She looked down, "Long story... I've been Jack's friend ever since we were in middle school. Some tragedy happened, which results to his coldness..."

"Oh,", I said... glancing at the translucent glass windows to see if he was there already. "I hope I survive this thing."

"You will...", she smiled. "He's really not that cranky during normal days..."

I nodded... 

So much for being the world's happiest place on earth...

Jack

I, once again, entered a talentless person into the Design Team. I remember firing another girl... was it Kayla? Or Bella? Oh whatever her name was. I recently fired her for not completing the deadlines... aaand, now... I'm looking for another outfit designer.

I went back to the conference room to see the new girl sitting down on the opposite side of my seat.

I sat down and opened her resumè, "Name?"

"Elsa Aubrie Coldstone... well, actually it's Elsa Aubrie Jade Coldstone, but I kinda shortened it out so-"

"Yes, stop the nonsense.", I cut her off. Her eyes widened and she immediately shut up.

Hell no, I don't want another Rapunzel around here. Seriously, she's the loudest person I know, and mix it up a little with Audrey and Thia... I bet my eardrums would burst.

"Where from?"

"Uh... Arendal... but I grew up in Oslo and-"

I cut her off again, "Do you always have to connect more details to your answers."

She became silent.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Frost.", she spoke out and looked down at her tangled fingers on her lap.

Elsa

I can't possibly take this any longer!

But...

I must try...

I need this job...

My father needs me, and my sister Annie needs me... I'm all they have left in the world. 

Do I really need to include a deep back story to this? I guess I should.

My mother left us when I was only a teenager. I despised her with all my heart. I thought that she loved Dad, and would never leave us... but I was wrong.

So damn wrong.

She sashayed away with her new family, a husband who she thought was better than Dad, two young girls who she thought was far better than Annie and I could ever be. Seems like she's been keeping that same ole secret of her other daughter since I was born. She was about a year older than me, as far as Dad said.

I never want to meet her and her stupid, perfect family.

Why does theirs need to be perfect, while ours is left broken hearted?

She just packed away one day, and never came back. 

I heard she travelled to Arendal, so Dad decided to catch her... and once we did, we we're broken by the news of her new family. Annie cried for weeks, until her heart couldn't cry anymore.

The same happened to Dad. He just let the pain subside, but I know it's still there.

And then, we just rented out a flat here and there... We kept on moving from flat to flat, everytime Dad couldn't pay the bills. I barely had one whole school year without stopping for a month or two to work as a waitress in a cafè.

Dad soon got very sick, and I didn't want to stop studying. I paid all my fees myself. Studying during the day, working all throughout the night. It was a tough life, I'm sure... but it led me to an animation course degree and Annie's smooth college life.

And now... I can't let this opportunity slip away just because of this wretched boss of mine.

"Any family members?", he asked coldly.

"Yes.", I said in his monotone voice... trying my best not to include any other extra detail about the family.

He cocked his head to the right, "Names?"

"My father's name is Andrew Coldstone, and my sister is Annie Elise Jade Coldstone.", I added... keeping the emotionless façade.

He stood up, "Welcome to DisneyDream Animation Studios.". He stretched out his hand.

It took me a moment to grab it, since his eyes somehow lit up for a moment... It was a heavenly shade of blue, and got me staring at the pair while he was talking.

I shook his hand, "Thank you."

"Let Rapunzel tell you where you will be staying.", he motioned at Rapunzel and she gave me a big smile.

Rapunzel led me out of the conference room, into the Design Team's main office... Through a wide corridor with a few cubicles on the side. She pointed at the farthest one to the right, "That's where you'll be staying, Elsa."

"Thank you", I smiled.

She giggled, "Let me know if you have questions, okie?"

"Okay.", I waved goodbye at her, and she went out of the corridor.

"New girl?", a girl with bright orange hair popped out from the cubicle in front of me. 

I gave her a big smile, "Yeah! I'm Elsa."

"Audrey.", she said... returning the smile. "Are you the new outfit designer?"

"Yes I am.", I smiled.

"I'm for the backgrounds... and so is Once-ler over there.", she pointed at a cool looking boy at the cubicle to my left... across the corridor. 

 He had dark hair and a mysterious smile, "He looks kinda cool."

"I know, right?", she giggled. "But not my type though."

I laughed and looked back at the mysterious, hooded figure.

This may be the start of something new...
