Seventeen: I Hope You Will
Seventeen:
Elsa
I walked into the office with a bright smile on my face. This is going to be a great day. I stretched my head over to Jack's office, but he wasn't there yet... so I walked towards my desk.
"Hey, Elsa!", Merida exclaimed with a smile. "I brought samples of what we would like Ember's flames to be. Mind if you pick one that you like best?"
I reached out for her flash drive and plugged it into my laptop, "Just one?"
"Yeah... The samples I gave are far too different from each other.", she said.
Audrey came in with a stash of drawing paper on her hands, "Coming throoough!"
She threw the collapsing paper tower on top of her desk, "Seriously, I need to decide on what scenery for the Flame Castle we should use."
Thia popped out from her cubicle, "I want the pretty red flamed one."
"I personally like the fiery tower design.", Merida said with a smirk.
I shrugged and checked on the flame designs for Ember in my laptop, "Well, if I get decided on these flames, maybe we could incorporate the same design for the castle."
"I like that idea.", his voice called out from the door frame. And there he is... Jack Frost.
I looked up with a smile, "Hey."
"Hey.", he replied with a smirk. He approached my desk agonizingly slowly... I just sat there... staring at him as he continued walking towards me.
"Ummm... Has she gone off?", Audrey waved her hands frantically in front of me.
I blinked my eyes to see Jack laughing with a cheeky eyebrow raised.
I stuck my tongue at him and he laughed, "Bye Elsa."
I laughed along with him as he went back into his office, his eyes still locked on mine.
"Okay, did I miss an episode on the Elsa-Coldstone-Falls-for-Jack-Frost TV series?", Audrey cornered me, along with Thia and a shocked Merida.
"Yeah, I haven't seen Frosty become soooo happy, well since... since...", Merida spoke up, but she hesitated to finish it. "Nevermind."
"So, is there some special connection between the two of you now?", Thia smiled.
I rolled my eyes and felt the burning sensation against my cheeks.
They were all staring at me intently, including Once-ler who seemed to have his ears on the floor.
I bit my lip with a smile, "Okay, alright. YES."
The girls in front of me squealed like high school teenagers. Audrey and Thia high-fived each other and exchanged the "I told you so" look, and Merida was just standing there simply happy.
Once-ler didn't let me catch his eye. His eyes were stuck on the interface of his computer, and his lips were pressed down into a thin line. His fingers were tapping off the keys of his laptop, and I don't know what to feel anymore... I wanted to tell him that I am sorry, but... I don't want to hurt him any further. He's a good guy, and I'm just not the right girl for him.
He finally looked up at me, "I'm happy for the both of you, Elsa."
I smiled, "Thank you."
He managed to give me a half-hearted smile, nothing more.
Audrey snatched me from him and said, "I wanna hear all about it!"
Jack
Constantly I would check at Elsa from the glass window, and constantly I would find her staring right back at me. She would blush as red as a tomato and give me a sweet little giggle. I would imagine the sound of her laughing, and that makes me smile back as well.
"Hey, Jack.", Rapunzel called out to me. "Do I have to repeat what I just said?"
"Sorry, Punzie.", I turned back to her. "What was that?"
"Again, the entire crew is done with the animation, and we want to know what you want to do next?"
"Let's go to Disney World.", I said.
Rapunzel brought out her pen, "Okay, we're going to Disney World- WAIT, WHAT?"
"I'm serious.", I laughed. "We are going to Disney World."
"But, wait.", Rapunzel tilted her head. "Isn't that against your rule? You know, the We-Are-Never-Ever-Going-To-Disney-World-Because-It-Reminds-Me-Of-Erin rule?"
"Well, it doesn't really matter anymore.", I said as I shifted my eyes to Elsa. This time around, she wasn't looking back at me.
Rapunzel's face lit up, "You've moved on! Hooray! Praise the goddesses!"
I smiled, "Erin was special, that's for sure. But Elsa loved me at my downfall, and she was my sunlight at that day she walked into the room."
Punzie smiled, "Well, when do you want to go to Disney World?"
"Anytime would be just okay.", I replied.
After work, Elsa stayed inside the office, waiting for me to finish my job. She was sitting on the couch in my office, flipping magazine by magazine.
"Where do you wanna eat?", I asked her.
Her face looked up at me and I felt like the room was lit up by a hundred glowing lights.
"I can go anywhere... Just not dairy.", she says.
"Well, isn't that a sad life.", I joked and closed my laptop.
She groaned and lied down on the couch, "I know, right?"
I sat beside her and she laid her head on my lap. She noticed a turned down picture frame, and she lifted it up, "So this is Erin."
My eyes widened as she stared at the deep dark eyes of my former girlfriend.
"She's so beautfiul", she said as she stroked the glass with her thumb. "She was so young."
"She was.", I said and sat closer to her.
Elsa returned the picture frame right side up on the coffee table, "I'm sorry."
"Sorry for what?", I ask.
"I'm sorry for being so damn broken.", her breath hitched. "I'm sorry for not being good as her... I'm sorry that I could never become the girl she is."
"I'm sorry that you lost her, and now you'd have to find a replacement for her... and I know I'll never measure up. I'm sorry that you'd have to settle with me, a mediocre replica of her.", a tear falls from her cheek. "I know how much you loved her, and I hope you will... you will-"
"Elsa.", I took her hand and gave it a squeeze. "She is my past. She doesn't matter anymore. Sure, she may have her own place in my heart. But Els, you are my new dream. And you were there when nobody understood me."
"You were there when everybody was calling me a bitter boss. You endured that, and that's what I love about you. You're strong... You may break down, but you rise up.", I say to her sweet sobbing face.
She gives me a smile and plants a small kiss on my lips, "I love you."
"I love you, too.", I say. "Don't you ever doubt that."
Elsa
Jack took me home that night, and fortunately, my dad was already sleeping. I haven't told him about Jack, but someday I will. Annie, on the other hand, did see Jack and I at the porch and you know, we kissed.
"Can you tell me more about him?", Annie asks as she flopped herself onto the beanbag in my room.
I laid down my brush on my vanity, "What else is there to tell you, Ann?"
"Well, his name?", she says.
"Jack.", I replied.
Annie's eyes widened and she frowned a bit, "He seems familiar."
A/N: I actually managed to update TWO BOOKS in a day! WOOOHHH!
Well, actually I had only a few to write down since both had 700 words already, but nevertheless, I made an update.
Kinda clifffy on this one... :/ Familiar?
Coincidence?
